Still have never actually eaten here... but I've been here enough to talk about it. First off, this place is BIG. Like actually big. Good for birthdays, group hangs, events, all that. You're not cramped in here fighting for space. Game-wise... don't come here expecting anything crazy. There's nothing super serious for hardcore gamers, no rare cabinets or anything you're gonna geek out over. It's more like solid, familiar stuff. That said, it does work really well as a date spot because there's a lot of co-op games, so you're not just standing there awkwardly -- you actually have something to do. Now the food... I still haven't gone deep into it, but the wing deal is actually a good deal for these times, which is rare. That alone makes it worth pulling up on a Tuesday. Menu is kinda big though, and anytime I see a big menu like that I start side-eyeing the kitchen a little bit... like yeah some of this gotta be frozen But overall? Came here for a holiday party! This place was super fun, we had a private buffet, unlimited tokens and top shelf bar drinks for a few hours. Lots of fun arcade games - love the stranger things pin ball machine and this Asian games machine that's towards the back on the right side. That one was really fun and you can have up to 3 players. The bathroom was clean! They also have a private area in the back that you can reserve for an event. Super cool place and the bar staff were nice. read more

Ok so just an updated review. They done upgraded their nachos! So nachos are the best dish they have imo and the smash burger 2nd. They got better chips (harder/last longer in the sauces) their salsa is also way better, and whatever else they changed done upgraded the flavor. This is a very fun place. It's 21 and up all day, every day, EXCEPT Sunday when kids are allowed. So keep that in mind. Also, consider this a shameless plug for Galco's, which is literally right across the street, on the same side. There is no better store, maybe on earth, to find zillions of interesting soft drinks, beers, international alcohols, etc. They have other stuff, too. Back to Barcade: the draft beers are excellent. The food is fine. We tried the onion rings and they are nice and not greasy, although the portion size was stingy. But if you came here for the games, they are great. They have all the old school games, Ms. Pac Man, Asteroids, Joust, Donkey Kong, Q-Bert, etc. They also have a ton of pinball games. The prices for the games are outstanding. Most cost one token (25 cents). The most expensive games--pinball-cost three tokens (75 cents). And every game was in working order although a couple of the video games glitched a little. The three of us played games for about two hours and spent $20 on the games. (Clearly, they don't make money on the games--it's the beer and booze where they make their money, which is fair.) Brought out our inner big kids for vday. Had a blast!!! You're gonna find all of your 80s-90s favs! Such a retro feel and they have endless machines. Even as the day went on and it started to get packed - I never felt like I was waiting in line for a game. Games are anywhere from 1-3 tokens (quarters). I was pleasantly surprised with the bar food. Their double patty cheeseburger was a solid backyard burger. Fries felt hand cut and fresh. Their Mozzi sticks could use some more cheese, but had a great melty pull to it. I had such a great time here! I was looking for an arcade bar to host my birthday party at and stumbled upon Barcade. I sent a request and reserved a table and food for 30 people on a Saturday night from 8:30-10:30PM. Mars was very easy to work with and helped me get everything settled for the night of. Parking in the area was a bit difficult on the night but wasn't impossible. We found street parking and then walked over. IDs are required to get in and it was quite crowded. Thankfully there were a lot of workers and we were able to get served quickly. I ordered party platters for the event which included the fried pickles (really good), French fries, super smash sliders, grilled chicken sliders, chicken tenders, and fried cauliflower. Note that if you don't buy a certain amount of food you can't bring in cupcakes or a cake from somewhere else. All the drinks were tasty and the food was great, they even provided to go containers for any leftovers. Some of the games ate our tokens but the employees were able to help us out and gave us back some tokens. Other than that all of the machines are well maintained and were very fun to play. So we took our nephews to this place we wanted to do something different and this is definitely something different. The thing I like most about this place is that it feels like you're walking into a time machine literally back into the 80s with some of the older video 80s games even the music is 80s new wave music mixed with a little bit of classic rock but it's all good fun and I love that they have a bar there and we actually had dinner there and the food was decent. It's not great but definitely not bad but well worth it and the people are very nice there. The service is very good, and when you get your tokens, you get a good amount of tokens for most of the games there which require only one token per play except if you're playing pinball that requires three tokens, but nevertheless, we had a fantastic experience. Definitely recommend this to anybody who is looking for something different. My nephews just turned 22 they're twins and they love 80s music and this is the era that I grew up in so jump on the bus and take a short ride from wherever you are locally within radius to this place Barcade it rocks! read more

Great little place in Highland Park. If there's a full side video game that you played as a kid, I'm sure it's here for you to play and relive your childhood. The menu is full of your typical bar food, wings, burgers, etc. But with flavor. The wings were really good. I'll have to go back and try the burger. Someone in our party had it and enjoyed it. Came here two years in a row for my friend's birthday. It's a super great time. The drinks are good - prices are as expected for the location. It's fairly good sized bar with lots of arcade machines. They're inexpensive to play with tokens costing 25 cents each. They have the front bar which is large with a lot of space to hang out. The back half also has a bar but it was not in use and a lot more calmer than the front. Bartenders are pretty attentive and friendly as well. Celebrated my birthday here over the weekend and it was the best! My guests all had so much fun and they continuously commented on how good the food was. The staff was so sweet and accommodating from beginning to end. Mars and Nilou answered every question I had, leading up to the party and Jason made sure my guests and I had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. As the name suggests, this is a pretty sizable bar arcade located in the Highland Park area. Lots of awesome classic games as well as newer ones. There's pretty much something for everyone that loves arcade games. Lots of cool modern pinball machines as well. The full bar has a surprisingly great selection of whiskeys. If I were to oversimplify this place, I would say it's like an artisanal Dave & Buster's, and I mean that in the best possible way. I can't say too much about the service because I was distracted by all the great video games. My buddy went to the bar and got me a pour of whiskey. A group of us went on a weekday night to check it out. We all started playing that classic side scrolling X-Men game. One of my favorites growing up! I also played a few awesome pinball games like the Godzilla game. This was probably really specific to the night we were there, but I think there was some weird thing happening in the bathrooms where they had to close early and kick everybody out. Honestly, I wasn't sure what was happening, but it was kind of a bummer because my buddy just bought me a pour Bookers bourbon. The folks there told us that we had to finish right away and leave. Now, if you know about Bookers, it's about usually around 130 proof. Not the type of bourbon that you just wanna drink really fast and get on the road lol. I've had some great times at this arcade bar! The variety of games is impressive (Shout out for Burger Time and Tapper), and they are all in excellent condition. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a perfect spot to hang out. However, I have to mark down one star because they don't update their Google business hours when closed for private parties. It's a quick and easy update, but they just say it's on their website--in small red text, at the very bottom. People usually check Google for business hours, not the website. I only mention this because it happened to me twice last year. We show up to be told they open back up to the public at midnight. A little tip: keeping Google business hours updated could make a big difference. It quick and easy to do too. We love coming here and want to know when it's open to the public, even if it's at midnight! read more

The drinks are fairly priced, hit or miss on their alcohol strength. My main problem is when I visited this past week, literally every one of the popular games we played had broken controls. NBA Jam's joysticks and buttons didn't work. Street Fighter 2 and Marvel vs Capcom's had stuck joystick and button issues. X Men had broken joystick and broken button issues. After wasting money on the 5th broken game, my date and I decided to leave. It actually really put a damper on the evening.
