On a nice sunny warm afternoon, I got a table against the huge windows to people watch and enjoy the MPLS skyline. It was happy hour and they had a nice Rioja available by the glass. I also got a happy hour tapas plate special of Patatas Bravas which were crispy potato bites sitting in a nice tomato salsa and topped with aioli. It was a perfect amount of food and wine. Service was excellent. I love the vibe. With exposed brick and ceiling, large picture windows and stone bar top, it was cozy and hip. I want to come back and try more tapas plates. My friend told me about this place and I'm so glad she did. I love it! The service is awesome and our server specifically was so attentive and friendly. He was amazing! He went over the menu with us and told us some recommendations. We tried the patatas bravas (roasted potatoes with a garlic aioli on top and a red salsa type sauce on the bottom). They were delicious. They have a lot of small plates which is nice because you can try a few different things. They also have individual cheeses and meats or you can make your own charcuterie board or go with a pre-selected one they offer. Then the wine list is amazing. So many good options and organized very well. The flights are nice too. I like the trust fall and I tried this with my server. He had some good recommendations! I've always heard great things about this place, and I'm happy to say the food truly lives up to the hype. I came here with a friend and we ordered five different plates to share, all of which were absolutely delightful. We tried the patatas bravas, sheep's cheese, focaccia, gambas en ajillo, and the steak. Out of all five dishes, my favorite was definitely the sheep's cheese plate. The bread it came with was perfectly crispy and full of flavor, and paired with the sheep's cheese, wow!! The portion sizes were also very generous, which pleasantly surprised me, as I was expecting smaller servings. Our waitress was amazing, friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. I wish I could give you 5/5 and I would if I was just taking service food and drinks into account, but unfortunately we did have to wait for like 30 minutes despite having a reservation which really threw me off. We were actually a few minutes away from just going somewhere else based on this, but I'm glad we got to stay and try because it truly is a really fun place with good options for tapas and shared style plates. Service was really great and our server had awesome recommendations and really took the time to check on us despite it being so busy. My sister and I got 3 oz sizes of wine so we could try a few which was a fun option. Hot tip is to put in your paella order right away if hungry because it will take awhile to cook so we did this. We also ordered the mushrooms focaccia and patatas bravas. All three of these were slam dunks and I would definitely recommend. The mushrooms paired with the focaccia were perfection. The paella was super crispy with a great variety of veg and I would love to try the seafood one in the future. Overall, really fun albeit busy place. When we arrived, we were seated quickly but then not addressed for 20 minutes. I had to ask a server passing by for water. I stopped by here for happy hour as my first time and it was amazing! I am vegan and our server Eva took the menu and marked everything that would work for me with my dietary restriction which I really appreciated. They have a great tapa deal on happy hour and the wine we had was delicious. We ended off with the lemon poppyseed vegan ice cream and were blown away, it was so creamy! I'm looking forward to coming back to try more menu items , the restaurant is so cute inside as well. Been here a handful of times and the last few times the staff has been a little snarky. The most recent time that I came, our waitress was not helpful whatsoever when inquiring about the menu items as we had no idea which tapas to choose, when asking or inquiring for her help, she looked visibly annoyed. However, can't fault the restaurant for her bad behavior, I will say that my close friend got violently ill the next few days after consuming something from the table and I'm not really sure which of the items that we ate made her so sick. I suspect that the food was handled improperly. I knew when I saw this spot it would be a hit. The fact that it already has a national footprint made me feel it knew what it was doing. On a Friday night I had dinner with friends in the main area and then ventured to the bar area for part 2 of the evening. As I entered, the venue felt very fun and lively. For dinner we shared the Grilled Shrimp Cauliflower, and Potatas Bravas. I also got the Olive Oil Cake not shown here which was divine. I truly cannot recommend Barcelona enough!! Since my first review I've been here more times than I could count, including for an incredible NYE celebration. They have an amazing wine list with 1/2 off bottle Mondays, one of the best espresso martinis in town, plus the friendliest most helpful staff (shoutout to Kade!). I'd recommend more favorites from the menu but honestly at this point it would probably just be the entire thing, we do always order the chicken thigh and patatas bravas every visit though. One pro tip- you can do a tasting menu ($35, 45, or 55) and they send out a selection of selected tapas for that price point to your table! read more

The seared prawns came with the head and tail on along with a delicious sauce pairing. I went to Barcelona for the first time recently on a Friday night for a later reservation (~8:30) with a bunch of friends. The ambiance was loud and busy and very reminiscent of tapas bars I visited in Spain. We waited about 20 minutes past our reservation time before getting seated but enjoyed drinks at the bar while we waited. Once seated, we ordered a ton of tapas, all of which was delicious! My favorites were the patatas bravas, pork loin, and the mushrooms. The pacing of the tapas was nice where you got to really enjoy conversation and food over an extended time without feeling like you had to rush, eat, and leave. They have a really good selection of wine options from Spain and here's what I recommend for food. Top favorite: chicken thigh! Comes with a nice green creamy sauce. Patatas bravas: c'mon you can't come to a tapas bar without ordering these. Empanadas - they give you 2 and they kind of taste like a sloppy joe which idk is a good to bad thing. It's in a buttery flaky crust which... wow! I love that. Prawns: also good but I wish I had more of these. This place is a gem with amazing, authentic Spanish tapas. On our first visit we enjoyed the hearty aperitivo board and some of the special focaccia (not really Spanish but delicious) and should have stopped there-so much food. Best advice is to skip lunch so you have room to sample from the extensive menu. My second visit was on a Tuesday-not nearly as loud as the previous (Thursday) visit when it was impossible to even converse across the tiny two-person table. Given the layout, the best plan would be to come in a group of 4 so you have a bit more room for food-the two person tables are just too small. Even better the sweet spot might be a party of 5-there are 4 spacious ROUND tables in front of the wine wall that are well spaced and offer ample room. A couple Other tasty items, the gambas (shrimp), platas (amazing potatoes). Ambiance is warm and cozy but the high ceiling make it almost unbearably noisy on a busy night. Parking? Nonexistent. You've got to circle aimlessly until you are lucky enough to score a spot within a few blocks on the street. A big drawback but if you live downtown or work there, probably not an issue. They have a reputation for the gin and tonic type drinks and they lived up to it! Because it gets so busy (especially on a Friday night), expect a lot of noise. I went late evening (around 9-10pm) and the restaurant was dimly lit with candles on each table. The atmosphere seemed perfect for a date night. The staff were friendly and checked to see if any of us had dietary restrictions or allergies. Onto my order: The Valencia was a wonderful drink. It was light and the orange really shined through! It's a good drink for anyone who wants a drink that doesn't taste too strongly of alcohol. All the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the asparagus (the sauce had a dill flavor that was delicious), the potato tortilla, and the patatas bravas! I plan to come back again soon and try more things on the menu, but so far all the tapas we've tried were great, and we would get them again! For dessert, we ordered the basque cheesecake! The cheesecake was decent, although it is firmer than some of the other basque cheesecakes I've had. If you're looking for a creamy cheesecake, this may not be the right choice for you! It is not particularly sweet, but it goes well with the fruit. It was served with blueberries (which had a tea flavor to them) rather than the salted honey strawberries listed on the menu. We were told it was served with whatever fruit is seasonal! I would be interested to try it with the strawberries at some point, but may opt for another dessert next time instead! read more

I got in from the airport around 3 and our dinner was at 8 so we needed a spot to go for yummy fresh foods that weren't heavy. We walked in at 3:59 and were immediately seated and given menus, waiters were very kind and personable and quick to answer questions about the menu while also letting me know which menu items weren't available for my almond allergy. Tied with first were the seared prawns, wow. The seasoning and sear on them were incredible. Smoky yet fresh. The yellowtail crudo was next level and I'd eat 10 plates - 10/10 The espresso martini had some sort of nutmeg spic sprinkled on top and was delicious. Next favorite was the cauliflower! Hanger steak was good, but I wouldn't say anything memorable. I wish it had slightly more char, but it was cooked exactly medium as we asked. The restaurant itself was gorgeous.
