We visited Restaurant Aubergine for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Service was friendly and professional, and the waiter did a great job helping us order the right amount for our meal. The food overall was outstanding - the menu featured so many seasonal vegetables and everything was cooked to perfection. Food came out a little more slowly than expected, but they were still in their first few weeks of service so I expect this will improve. Overall a wonderful date night experience, we will definitely be back again!

My husband and I were transported to Lyon at Restaurant Aubergine. We had the bone marrow starter and wow. What a strong start to the meal! All I can say is I can't believe I'm a fan of jellied eggs now? Both of our main courses and drinks were equally as impressive. Our favorite being the duck. This is a place for people that love to try bold and unique flavors in a cozy warm atmosphere. We loved our server, Marissa as well! When they told us the restaurant had only been opened a few days I was so impressed. The staff was busy but not stressed and I appreciated how friendly everyone was. :) can't wait to be back!

I love my husband but he is a very picky eater. I decided to bring him here to see what I could talk him into eating. I ordered for us or he never would have picked a dish. Never mustard for him. Marissa was an excellent server but all of the staff seemed personable and very hard working. Water is never empty and dishes are in constant motion. The size of the dishes are small, except the beef. Order some to share. The Appetizer Sampler is a don't miss. My husband ate his half up right away. The marrow melts, the egg is soft (a great trick) and the tartare tasty. They really need to include more bread. Then the Walleye Dauphine, kind of a walleye tot on aoili. They were very good. Another dish that picky husband happily ate. Next we had the duck. We also ordered a side of fries. The duck is wonderful and the sauce so flavorful you may want to lick the plate. The greens were unnecessary. The duck almost melts in your mouth. For dessert we shared a raspberry sorbet. It tasted like raspberry sunshine, custardy and smooth. My husband devoured everything and loved it. Really wonderful. Don't order the Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Sparkling Riesling. It is a NA beverage and really has a strange taste. They need some more NA cocktail options. Free parking is available in the adjacent lots. Prices include 18% to be shared among the staff. Tip a little extra for your server. The restaurant is so new but they have it down. They will need to vary the menu for repeat customers.

Wonderful experience dining at aubergine! Spectacular French wine list, fresh menu, the duck was bursting with flavor. the Earl Grey soft serve was a highlight! Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Ambience is cozy and classic.

Have been to Aubergine 5x now and the food is always wonderful. It changes from week to week because they truly embrace the local and seasonal ethos. Prices initially seem more expensive but they have 18% gratuity built in which I appreciate to support their staff so tipping extra is not necessary. Their back patio is beautiful, quiet and shaded even on sunny days. Their service has been wonderful! We have always had Sam and he is a god damn gem. Truly appreciate what Aubergine is doing from an experience, sustainability approach and good food!

Wow, what a treat! I wasn't sure I was going to like it here as I can be a bit picky. This is one of the best places I've eaten in the Twin cities for a long time. First, the room is subdued and uncluttered with appropriate spacing between tables. I appreciate being able to get in and out of my seat without fear of setting my clothes on fire from the next table's candle or having a hard time hearing my own conversation. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was perfection. I'm not a big fan of freshwater fish but, decided to try the Walleye Dauphine. So glad we did. Perfectly fried potato "dumping"/"puff" with a subtle flavor of walleye topped with a sheer sheet of lardon atop a beautiful aioli. So delicate and delicious. We also had the green salad. It was very simple and just perfect. For our main, we went for the 2 pound Cote de Boeuf. Divine. Served with the most perfectly fried and salted fries. I really liked the mustard butter and I couldn't stop eating the rye berries. The steak was quite delicious as well. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. We ended with the Mille Feuille which was also a delight. I may need to return as we will not make it to France this year. Aubergine will transport you to France, if only for a couple of hours.

It's a really cozy moody interior, with *no big lights* aka great low lighting and comfy seating options. When we went, there were just a few other parties there so pretty quiet. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but we enjoyed our time and could see this being a good option if you lived in the neighborhood and don't mind the early close hours.

Our server, Rosie, provided excellent recommendations, and we genuinely loved everything we ordered. They also offer a great happy hour until 6 PM, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend giving it a try. One small note: We didn't realize a 20% gratuity had already been added to our bill. That's partially on us for not catching it on the credit card slip, (we tipped in cash) but I do think it would be helpful if servers mentioned it when presenting the check. I typically prefer to tip in cash, so on our $62 tab, we ended up leaving a $34 tip. Even with that little surprise, we'll absolutely be back. We decided to come here for our anniversary lunch and made a reservation in advance. We started with an appetizer and some borscht. I make a mean borscht myself using veggies from my garden, but I figured a little outside inspiration could only help improve my recipe. I also ordered the Ivan the Terrible Martini, which has sambuca in it. Truly such a unique, delicious, and STRONG drink. Our entrées were perfectly portioned. I had the Siberian pelmeni, which I still think about to this day. Pairing those little dumplings with sour cream and vinegar has my mouth watering just writing this. After one more martini, we called it and headed out to enjoy the rest of our anniversary. We found street parking and walked a little ways to get there. The people were a huge part of what made Emmett's feel welcoming, creative, and special, especially with the innovative cocktails. It's also disappointing to see what feels like a lack of appreciation for the staff and the longtime, dedicated customers who helped build this establishment into what it was. Unfortunately, the new direction feels much more canned and unoriginal--more like a Irish version of Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse than the unique place it used to be. There are simply too many great places to choose from to settle for something mundane and uninspired. The new GM has also made longtime customers feel unwelcome, with no acknowledgment or warmth when walking through the space. The atmosphere just isn't the warm, inviting place I once enjoyed. Sadly, I guess it's time to find a new favorite.

I entered through the west side of the building that noted Lucky's, fear not, when I entered and told the host I was looking for the Mudd Room she gave me precise directions to get downstairs! Once downstairs I came upon the nice single toilet ladies room. I proceeded in to the bar, asked the blonde bartender where the music would be? She pointed to the stage @ the end of the bar and said it could be loud right by the speaker so she'd recommend sitting a few tables away. She said the parties near the stage were tabbing out if I wanted to sit there? I said I would take a seat @ the end until they were through.
