We visited Bardenay when in the area for a wedding. We came for Sunday brunch the day after the wedding before friends and family made their way back home. They were very accommodating setting up a long table on the patio for us. The patio overlooked the river and green belt path which was a nice added bonus. As for the food I felt that it was rather bland and lacking seasoning. Another family member made a similar comment. Although sang praises for the fry sauce. We had never had anything like that as we were all visiting from out of state. Overall we had a pleasant experience but the food was not mind blowing in my opinion. read more

We Love by this place downtown Boise, they didn't have any reservations available, do we made reservations for July 5th at Eagle on the river. When we got there the place was closed. You would think they would turn off the ability to make reservations online if they are closed until July 8. read more

The indoor eating space is extremely loud so we asked to sit outside and that was very pleasant as it is a beautiful space. The jalapeño margarita and old fashioned drinks were great and so was the bruschetta. That is all that we tried as it was a nightcap for us. If they would add some fabrics into the restaurant to absorb some of the noise, then I will come back in the winter to eat indoors but until then I will not dine inside here. read more

Was excited to try with my family since I've been to the boise location. I can say this location does not live up to the boise one. We got sat at 6:30 and no sight of our food through 7:30. Our waiter was impossible to get ahold of and we waited to order for nearly 20 min because he was always disappearing. People that ordered after us got there food before. We were at the point of leaving $5 for the teas we ordered and going to Taco Bell where we would get better service then here. read more

Disappointed. Didn't receive a salad that was ordered. Fish and chips were not good - overcooked and crust was extremely crunchy (in a bad way) and no sauce accompanying the dish. Soggy fries. The pork chop, salmon and trout were decent. Mashed potatoes were great! Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place and we won't be going again. I've been here multiple times and I love the food. The service is always great. I'm eloping in a few weeks, just my partner and I plus our parents are having a small ceremony. I was thinking what a great place this would be to have dinner afterwards. I know they don't accept reservations, but I was hoping they could make an exception for us. I didn't want to get all the way there in our wedding attire and have a super long wait. I said to the lady that answered the phone named Mikah "I know you don't accept reservations", and then explained my situation. She was really rude! "As you just stated, we don't take reservations." I totally get if they can't do it. I've worked in the restaurant industry. But if I'm being friendly and polite, you don't have to be rude. She continued to go on saying "as YOU stated, we don't take reservations. You can come and wait like everyone else" I don't know if she was having a bad day, but kindness goes a long way with me. This was our first and last time there tonight! Horrible service! We waited 35 minutes to be seated order drinks and appetizers for 3 people! Waited 25 minutes for the appetizers to get burnt overcooked shrimp! Black Charlie's so they turned them over like we wouldn't notice, overcooked and rubbery. We ordered dinner and sat there waited another hour asked the waiter several times he said the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 20 minutes, we waited and he brought our food to say the kitchen lied and it was ready only to get a cold ribeye, soggy salad and they forgot the burger for our son! We left without eating and was charged 63.00 for an appetizer and 2 glasses of wine! Absolutely ridiculous! Don't waste your time or money in this place! Then I get home to realize I sat in gum on the outside patio and it is not stuck to my shorts and car seat ! Urghhhh. So annoyed! read more

I had the yellow fin tuna salad and heck yes it hit the spot. Not only was it delicious it was huge!! It was mid day and seemed to take them awhile to tend to our small party of 4. Waitress was easily confused when asked about their seasonal beer on tap. I would definitely give them 5 stars for the food, 3-4 for service. I'm excited to give it another shot. read more

I remember coming here a couple years ago and I wasn't very impressed because I had a hair in my food. We went again for a birthday dinner and it was really good! I had the bacon wrapped filet with the bleu cheese butter, garlic smashed potatoes and chef's vegetables. It came out perfect and the sauce with the bleu cheese butter was fantastic! My husband had the salmon with the Caesar salad. The salad wasn't great, the dressing had no flavor and was very watery. The salmon was really good with the sauce though. The waiter was nice and friendly. The place was really busy for a Wednesday night so I would say this place is a hoppin' and you'll need a reservation. All in all I would come here again. read more

Averee was wonderful this evening. Super sweet, and helpful. The restaurant is located on a beautiful pond with a huge patio (which was enjoyable). The food was average. I had the Pork Tacos and a side Cesar Salad. Both items were very bland, although everything was cooked properly. I was not overly impressed by the food. read more

Bardenay has more than one location. We've only tried the Eagle restaurant located right on the riverwalk on several occasions and never been disappointed. Beyond excellent food and service and wonderful surroundings what I love the most about Bardenay's are the employees. I've met 5 employees all at different times from servers to cooks during their off hours away from the restaurant and they all give me the same message - it's the best place they've ever worked. They love the owners and their coworkers and they all speak of them as though they were a close knit family. Stayed at hotel on site. This place is highly recommended as a "nicer" place in Boise vicinity. Situated right next to river. Chose outside seating on sunny, warm day. Inside has generous seating but acoustics made it difficult to carry on a conversation. Large menu with varied options and extensive drink list highlights Bardenay's own liquors. My husband ordered the 8 oz bacon wrapped filet w/ blue cheese butter and sides. Perfect medium rare. Ate every bite. I had 2 apps. Ahi tuna and a Mediterranean plate. Both were fresh and well presented. Service friendly and food came to table less than 15 mins after ordering. Only negatives were the flies and yellow jackets that deterred from the experience. read more

I had scoped out this restaurant in advance. The dining room was lovely but fairly loud. My older family members would have not liked the noise so we did takeout. Our food was ready for pickup at the time they gave. The chimichanga was awesome. The variety of textures and flavors was heavenly. The rest of my family enjoyed their food also.
