I took the family out for a special ocassion ( not wanting to drive to east boise or downtown) we ended up at Crave on eagle road. We were put in the corner of the bar area where it was a little noisey for our group, and we were difinitly overdressed as there is no dress code. The establishment was very busy and everyone had a good time, however i will mention we ordered a couple 8oz filets, that at best started out at 5 ounces ( I've recently purchased a half dozen 8 oz filets from Albertsons and these were no where near that size). It wasn't worth $10+ per ounce, but we overall had a good (service) and experience. Glad to see it's busy and will be around for a while. read more

I'll start by saying I don't leave reviews often, only when I feel compelled to, good, bad or in-between. I've been coming to Crave for a while now, this was probably my tenth plus visit and the food has consistently been really good. That's what keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, this last visit missed the mark. I made a reservation and was seated in the back room next to two private parties, rather than a booth or the main dining area. The room was loud and the spot was uncomfortable. And really, who wants to have dinner with their family wedged into a party room alongside two other parties? What really stung was watching a party who came in after us get seated in the party room and then moved to a different section, but when we asked to move, we were told it'd be a 20-30 minute wait. It's also a little odd to be awkwardly squeezed into a party room in the first place. That space should be for actual parties, not for packing in reservation guests to hit max capacity. Sometimes a short wait for the right table is worth far more than being seated immediately in an uncomfortable spot, I'd have happily waited. Here's the thing: between the data they're already collecting through Resy and a little plain common sense, this should be an easy fix. They can see who's a repeat guest, what reservations are booked, and how the floor is filling up. Use it, or at minimum, just pay attention to the room and seat people thoughtfully. It's not bad enough for one or two stars; the food and overall experience have earned more goodwill than that, and servers are always top notch. But better situational awareness and common send from their host staff would go a long way. A reservation should mean something, and a marketing tip, regulars notice this stuff. A big turn off after a stressful week, I probably won't be back. If looking for a flawless experience after a stressful week, I would find another place with a more competent host staff. read more

Was super hungry one day while driving around the area and found this place on the old Yelp Machine. The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) One of my favorite restaurants! Our waiter made great suggestions, was fine with substitutions, and our water was always full! The food as always was delicious. My favorite is always the rosemary focaccia with ricotta truffle honey ricotta. We also shared a wedge salad between the 4 of us! For entrees we got the halibut, short ribs, Crab and Shrimp Udon Carbonara, and double stack crave burger. They have such a great selection, and we're never disappointed. 3rd Update: Came here today, Friday, for lunch at about 1:45. Zach was our server, and he was awesome. My wife ordered the Honey Chicken and instead of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, she asked for rice. But, the rice turned out to be like a cheesy risotto, and my wife does not do cheese. We asked Zach, and he gave her mashed potatoes as another side. She loved her Honey Chicken and I loved my Prime Rib Sandwich and fries. The sandwich had horseradish in the sauce which was delicious, the meat was seasoned and tender, the bread soft and tasty. For dessert, we had our favorite, the Key Lime Pie. Greatness all around. Service was speedy and intentional. Such a good spot for any occasion or just a night you don't want to cook. We went and shared appetizers and plates and were beyond satisfied. It's hard to believe such a nice restaurant would only carry cheap grocery store wines with so many amazing local wineries... but alas- at least the cocktails are well made. My entreé was delicious but overpriced for a standalone pasta dish - that is, no vegetable, no bread; not even a garnish. My partner's entreé was to have shrimp and clams but the shrimp weren't any larger than the tiny clam pieces. Also standalone. Food came within 10 min. of ordering! They had me at hello... but really had me at the short rib dumplings and espresso martini My husband took me here for my birthday and we originally came for the sushi (because if there's sushi on the menu, we're going ). And wow -- everything delivered. The sushi rolls were fresh, flavorful, and straight-up gorgeous. Every plate looked like art. The short rib dumpling appetizer? SO good. And the espresso martini? Smooth, strong, and exactly what a birthday girl deserves. The vibe is clean, cozy, and perfect date-night energy. Dim lighting, cute bar, great ambiance -- very "let's stay a little longer" kind of place. Our server was amazing too -- super attentive and made me feel extra celebrated all night (as they should ‍). Then dessert came out and they did the most -- a 5-layer cake with homemade gummy bears AND a giant sparkler candle shooting sparks like it was New Year's Eve Total main-character moment. The only tiny downside was the cake itself was a little dry, but honestly the presentation made up for it. If you're reading this review and have not dined at this establishment yet. Trust me when I say, make a reservation asap because this will be your new favorite restaurant in Idaho. From the moment my party of 6 sat down, service from Ray was impeccable. This place has a great bar area, with a couple of tv's as well as a section of tables with glass walls to watch the sunset. Now for the food...we basically ordered almost half the menu and almost everything was amazing. Being a fisherman, I know it sounds crazy but the sushi dishes were top notch. The appetizers were mind blowing. The entree's definitely were palate pleasing and the bartenders made some exceptional drinks. The desserts were bomb! I am a trained chef, your food is a joke. Just like all your fake 5 star reviews.....Atmosphere only gets you so far. Your Cigar app was digusting, taquitos with beef at its best......worth maybe $5 bucks, they charge $25. House red is $24 buck per 6 ounce poor. GTFO. This is a nice upscale restaurant for a nice night on the town dinner and drinks kind of place. Inside is elegant and modern. Tammy was my server and she was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Wagyu Bolognese and the sauce had a great flavor but the noodles were disappointing. I was expecting a wide and thin pasta but instead these noodles were way too thick, maybe 3x as thick as they should be. Still had a good flavor. The star of the show was the dessert. Ordered the "special" which was TIRAMISU!!! This needs to be on the regular menu, it was AMAZING!!!! Had delicious house fudge on the sides and was topped with two delicious creme puffs!!! Everything about this restaurant was spectacular. The ambiance has lots of comfortable seating with lots of wood decor the staff was very attentive , and the food was truly top-notch. huge burgers, seasonal and creative salads as well as fresh made pasta. That's not something you get very often. The short rib dumplings in a horseradish broth was so flavorful. I had a lovely espresso martini where the bartender put a beautiful design on top for me. I got to enjoy a meal at Crave during my recent trip to Boise for business. I loved the look of the restaurant from the moment I saw the building. The inside was even better than expected. The build is beautiful - - very modern, but without feeling cold. We started with wine at the bar the cocktail list as well as the wine by the glass list was great. Prices seemed very reasonable. When our table was ready, we moved to a high top in the bar area. We enjoyed the meatballs as an appetizer, and I had the Wagyu Pappardelle. Both were extremely delicious and had great portion sizes. The wait staff was great, friendly and on point with service. Place was hopping on a Friday night. A nice energy there. Food was above average. We tried a bunch of different food items. Spinach dip - good, cheesy, the entire table enjoyed it Dumplings - did not love this. It was really dry and tasteless. Salads - pretty standard. Short rib- good sauce. A bit more diy than I expected. Wagyu bolognese- creamy sauce. Could have used a bit more flavor. Overly salty Salmon - really nice and tasty Pork - moist and tasty Dessert was a 7 layer cake - rich but overly sweet. They tried to do too much with this one. I recently visited this restaurant this past weekend to celebrate an early Mother's Day with my family. We had a party of eight. Although the ambiance was great and food delicious, our service was very poor. I ordered a cup of coffee which was never refilled. Our server never came around after our food was served to check on us. Many of our family needed items like napkins and additional drinks, but our server never came. I can only assume she didn't feel like giving us good service because gratuity was included because of our large party (she didn't have to earn it) or she didn't like the color of our skin (half of our party was Hispanic). OMFG, this was an awesome dining experience! I ate at Crave tonight with my bosses and co-workers for our team holiday dinner and it was definitely a 5 star experience in my book! The restaurant was absolutely lovely, our waitress was attentive and the food and drinks were fabulous! I must say this is a sexy menu lol by that I mean... the descriptions of the menu items practically seduced me. I ended up having a mocktail called the "Winter Old Fashioned" which was kombucha with pear juice and a salted maple foam.. the maple foam made this drink ! As good as the drink was though, my entrée was definitely the star of the show... I got the chicken and cheese melt with a side salad and while that's not as fancy as some of the other menu items, this was like the sandwich of my dreams. Not only was it roasted chicken and Swiss cheese...it had guacamole and pesto sauce and the bread... OMG, the bread isn't your normal bread. It was served on their housemade lavender honey sourdough! Some of you might think that sounds weird af but I'm not lying when I say I had probably the best orgasm of my life eating this sandwich! I was like Meg Ryan in that scene from when Harry met Sally- only I wasn't faking! ;) I'm definitely coming back here to eat again soon with my fiancé.. **Crave ** in Eagle is the type of restaurant every owner wants to have and every customer wants to go to. Whether it is Lunch or dinner, Crave manages to do all the right things. It is is popular and busy while providing an ambiance and a significance to the customer. The restaurant has different areas and can host different events with ease. The bar is situated off the main dining area and has a life of its own with regulars filling it up and some vacationers too. The food, light but filling, and its presentation were very good. The Texas Wedge was such a great salad with fresh greens, avocado, bacon, blue cheese. So delicious. The Crave tacos with halibut were so tasty as well. The prime rib sandwich was decadent and the homemade bun so soft. The servers are young and professional. They suggest items, offer wine to go with, and check in often. Once inside, the place looked upscale for either a date, special evening or even a business lunch or dinner. My friends from Boise wanted to treat me to a nice Boise dinner so we opted for a place with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I'll start with the this, the atmosphere at Crave was lively and welcoming. Once sat, our server greeted us with a smile. We got down to business and ordered drinks (which they have PLENTY of) and appetizers: Spinach & artichoke dip - Warm spinach and artichoke dip, goat cheese, gruyère cheese, roasted red peppers, house crackers - nothing to write home about as far as a spinach & artichoke goes. If you've had one, you've had them all. SHORT RIB DUMPLINGS - house made dumplings, whiskey braised short ribs, horseradish miso broth - the wagyu made all the difference in flavor, it made for a good meaty, well balanced meat to fat ratio. The sauce was interesting, it was a Chinese/Italian fusion that could have almost passed for soup. For dinner we ordered: LOBSTER & SHRIMP GRILLED CHEESE (x2) - poached lovster, grilled shrimp, American cheese, smoked Gouda, Gruyère & mixed herbs - this was quite the remarkable "grilled cheese", the lobster and shrimp was plentiful and filled each bite with a morsel of either or both. The gruyere and Gouda were the perfect nutty gooey addition to the buttery toasted bread. CHICKEN PARPADELLE - shredded roasted chicken, roasted red bell peppers, mushroom medley, onions, spinach, house made pasta, Parmesan cream sauce - the sauce was key, the dish needed a little more to pull it together. My wife enjoyed the Crab & Shrimp Udon Carbonara and a friend enjoyed the Honey Chipotle Pork Shank. I would've given a 5 Star review, but the ribeye was disappointing. It was dry and undercooked. I ordered medium rare and it was very rare and chewy. I'm not even sure it was an actual ribeye as it didn't have any marbling or flavor like a traditional ribeye. Nevertheless, we'll definitely return as there were many other items on the menu we want to try! We've heard from several friends that the Rosemary Focaccia with truffle honey ricotta is excellent. Crave is my all time favorite restaurant in the Treasure Valley. This is a go to stop when friends and family are visiting town. Everything I have tried on their menu has been delicious. A crowd favorite is their Rosemary focaccia with a truffle honey ricotta spread. It is truly divine. My favorite entree is the Thai steak and noodle salad. I've tried to recreate it at home but nothing can compete with this. They also have a great selection of cocktails to choose from as well as desserts.
