I only found out about this burger place because of a BOGO deal on Facebook. Seemed promising, given how many reviews and how highly rated it was. At the time of visit, they were doing outdoor dining and takeout. It was probably because we got it to go but the food was underwhelming. The burgers were pretty thick but nothing really stood out. By the time we got back home to eat, it was barely warm and the fries were hella soggy. I think they overestimated the time the food would be ready so it was just sitting out for awhile. The thing is we've gotten burgers from other places to go during quarantine and didn't feel this disappointed. It's also expensive. If it weren't for the deal, we wouldn't have even wanted to try it. For the price, I expected more outstanding flavors but that was lacking, in my opinion. Also, I didn't notice this until I got home, but the "BOGO" deal wasn't even BOGO. The two burgers that we bought were the same price but the discount didn't even take one fully off the bill. I'd love to dine in and give it a second shot but at the same time, I don't want to pay that much for a burger. read more

This place got decent reviews on yelp, and it said they had great burgers, so we decided to check it out. The hostess/servers were really nice/courteous. It was quite small, and parking around it is challenging. But the biggest critique I have on this establishment is that the prices are absolutely outrageous for what you get! It was $18 for a habanero chicken sandwich, a tiny serving of chips, and two pickles. I know I'm at Mission Beach, but it's ridiculous! For $18 at least give me some fries. Easily one of my favorite places in PB. I've been coming to this NZ inspired restaurant since 2015, and if a place survives in PB that long, you know it's solid. The menu has been consistent for as long as i can remember; the service is always top notch; the inside has a fun beach vibe; and the drink menu is always great. Young man with curly bleached hair (isaac or Isaiah can't remember for sure) took great care of our party, was knowledgeable on the menu, drinks and beers on tap. Ok. Let me get the challenged part out of the way. We tried to use the bathroom and there are two and for either men or women both were recently violated by someone's drinking problems! Smelled bad and were difficult to use with the smell. Am hoping this was just a moment no establishment could avoid but either way probably not a place you would bet on being able to have a pristine bathroom. Otherwise the location is prime within quick walk from the beach, servers helpful and seem to work well as a team. Atmosphere was fun and many groups meeting up here. Food is surprisingly above average for this type of pub type food establishment. I would say even high quality. Beer options are local and a strong list. Having only been to their former location in downtown back in the day and their sister restaurant in Little Italy, it was neat to check out this one in PB. The menus are pretty similar and a wide variety of food to choose from! I came by here last night, and great timing as there was little to no wait. The beer I drank was seasonal goodness- Pumpkin Cider from Ace and it has a crisp, fall taste with the touch of cinnamon flavor in it. My order of Fish and Chips was absolutely scrumptious! This was piping with delicious batter and flavor. The french fries and cole slaw was a generous amount and also tasty. The burger was ordered medium, but was more rare than medium- it was still appetizing nonetheless. The server here provided great service and I would definitely come back- I love the different vibes here with its New Zealand touch. read more

I've been here a couple of times. I'm not sure why I haven't written a review yet. My favorite by far is the Meso Tasty chicken sandwich fried. My boyfriend and I came here during happy hour and the food was amazing! The shrimp skewers were on special which tasted wonderful and the burgers were even better. The burgers only come with pickles and chips so my boyfriend and I each got a fries and tots. The tots were delicious but the fries were honestly disappointing as they were shoestring and reminded me of McDonald's Fries. The burgers were a great size and tasted wonderful. I came for the happy hour. They have 4 apps and 4 sliders you can choose from from $7-$9 and then $10 cocktails. A pretty decent deal. The sliders were super tasty. Their cocktail options were awesome, it was hard to decide! Their regular menu looked really good, just a little pricey! The service wasn't the best unfortunately. It took about 15 min to get our drinks and we were barely checked on. I think because we were sitting outside, but it looked like other tables were being helped. The waiter was super nice that's why I'm giving it a 2, when it really deserves a one. My brother ordered a sprite and received a coke, after we told her twice it was sprite she still brought coke. I have celiac and told the waiter about my gluten allergy. I order a burger with the gluten free buns. The food comes and I eat it and it tastes too good to be true. I ask the waiter and she says that isn't out gluten free bun. I will be severely sick for days and possible go to the ER! I'm shocked by the careless mistake. read more

There were 3 of us biking by & decided to eat there. She seated us at a tiny place inside. We had backpacks & helmets so no place to put them. There were other tables opening up, & also 4-people tables. We asked to be seated somewhere else, & she wouldn't do it explaining there're other groups coming. First, we were there first. Y'all, I will drive down to Bare Back from OC to get a burger here. Every time I go and am reading the menu, I think 'maybe I'll try something new' and every time I end up ordering the Hogs and Heifers burger and the tots. My partner loves the chicken wings, and after stealing a bite, I definitely agree that they're very tasty, but still not better than the burger. The outdoor seating is a nice touch during COVID, and I hope they are able to keep it all! If it's a sunny day, expect to have partial shade and partial sun at some tables, and plan accordingly! Today we had or kind of had lunch here and it was really not good. I ordered the mango shrimp salad, the salad was ok but the shrimp was way to salty, i ate 2 out of the 6 and couldn't handle it. It's really crazy cause I like salty food but this was to much. My husband ordered the lamb skewers and it was over cooked and it was mainly veggies and barely any meat. We told the bartender and I think the manager was at the bar too and she heard it and the bartender was like oh sorry I will let the kitchen know. Anyways we paid and my husband over tipped which really annoys me and nothing was done about it. They didn't even offer to fix it or comp something. We won't be back. Came here on a Monday around 6:15, just missed the happy hour (happy hour are from 3-6) but that's ok we will be back for happy hour. We got greeted quick and got seated right away. Weather was so nice we sat outside. Our server was super friendly and attentive, got our orders, my husband orders some kind of beer and he said it was good, I ordered the wild kiwi, which was really good! I would def get the same drink again! Food was amazing! I mean the burger was cooked to perfection and the sweet potatoes fries warm and crunchy.
