I've been to this spot a couple times and it was okay. The waxers were not very thorough with the removal of my hair during my Brazilian. Most recently, I went to Ally for a second time. She is very kind and makes me feel comfortable, but once I got home I discovered she left a ton of wax on my body. On my inner thighs and all near where the butt strip is placed. I called to let them know and asked to cancel my appointment that I made when checking out with her again, and they did not seem to care that a waxer left wax all on my body. Overall, my experience at Bare Necessity was great, can't say anything bad about Karley, she was super sweet and took care of me really quick. However, I was a little disappointed with the results of my brow wax & tint; it was my first time getting either and I really didn't know what to expect. When I left the salon, after about 30 minutes, I liked the shape of my eyebrows, however the tinting I was not a fan of. What I came to find out is that the tint is a vegetable dye that is used more to enhance ones natural brow, rather than add to it, it also only lasts 2-3 days. This is pretty disappointing given the fact that the service is so expensive. Another thing about the tint is that it wasn't really shaped on my brows, my edges weren't made sharp, the tint was kind of just slathered on, and when it dried it was more on my skin rather than on my brows. I understand that this is a salon so obviously you pay more for services, your aesthetician, and their experience. However several days later I read about doing my own eyebrows with men's beard dye. I was a little hesitant at first, yet it was only $8 so I decided to try it out; lo and behold the dye really darkened my brows and gave me so much more volume and shape, it also lasts for 1-2 weeks. Overall, I would still recommend Bare Necessity to friends, however I would definitely warn them what to expect. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now and it used to be great! Ever since they switched waxes over the summer, it's left a lot to be desired. The new wax is NOT good for Brazilians and fails to remove hair in the same exact spots on a lot of women. If this isn't remedied, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. If the new wax works better for some body parts, great! Use it for that and get the old wax back for the other areas and use both. Why should I pay for a service that is sub-par when there's many other waxing businesses? read more

Bare Necessity Wax and Spa is such a cute place and also has items you can purchase for your skin. I was able to move my appointment easily. I was taken back to a room with Korina, who did a great job and exactly what I asked. It was my first time getting my eyebrows done (I'm 14) and she did exactly what I wanted based off the photos I showed and what I told her. She left my eyebrows full, but had shape and were trimmed. All of the staff I have encountered thus far (two waxing visits) are very friendly and helpful. Elaine is my aesthetician and she is wonderful. If you book your next appointment ahead of time, they discount the cost for that next visit. I find the pricing very reasonable. Cannot wait to go in for a facial someday soon. Also - they use that crazy wax that hardens and then peels off (instead of using strips to peel the wax off). I find this type of wax less painful. read more

I really like coming here for three reasons - the ambience, the service, and the cost. Ambience - Located in downtown Gilbert, this place is completely adorable on the outside and has a spa-like feel on the inside. Perfect environment for hair removal. Service - From the service at the front desk to the service completed by the estheticians, I'm happy when I leave. They are always friendly and professional, and they are on top of things. Most importantly, my eyebrows are on point when I leave. Cost - They provide 10% off when you reschedule at the end of your visit and also offer sales on pre-paid deals. As someone who was terrified to get waxed after a horrific experience a few years back, I can honestly say now I actually look forward to my appointment every 4 weeks or so. Not only is the atmosphere of this salon ridiculously cute, homey, and relaxing, the staff is always so welcoming and pleasant. I have to give MAJOR props to Elaine, she is so freaking adorable and sweet I can hardly stand it sometimes! Let's be honest, having molten wax put on and then ripped off our lady bits is no walk in the park, but the charm that this place and Elaine have (at least on myself) has me coming back and asking for more! I got a gift card here for Christmas and I'm so happy I did! I have been going to a chain that I was satisfied with so I wasn't really looking. I am always reluctant to go to a new waxer (bad past experiences). We'll let me just say you can put your mind at ease! They are the best! 3 Days later and I'm still irritated. So apparently you can't book for two people at the same time for a service that takes literally a minute and a half. First frustration, I try to do this and am told that instead I will have to book a second appointment. Ok, fine.  So I do. I arrive on appointment day and explain that if I can't get in at same time as my partner that I needed to cancel the 11:45a that you required me to book because I do not have the time. Instead of accomodating me for a minute and a half service (yes I mention again). We arrived early for check-in for the original appointment I had requested at 11:15a. We waited 11 minutes past the first appointment time. I find it unreasonable that they could not accommodate two people for the same service in 11 minutes. At 11:26a, they call my bf back. At 11:29a he's done and back out. We leave. I get a call at 11:55 from Kimberley asking me if I was running late, I don't know if she gets confused easily or what, maybe she forgot the interaction 25 minutes earlier. I tell her that they couldn't fit me in and remember i cancelled the 11:45a appointment when I was in at 11:10a. She started on some crazy stuff about "well our cancellation policy... blah blah" I hung up, are you serious? Second, you're not willing to accomodate but yet you're going to school me on your policy and make me wait past the appointment time. Get out of here. read more

I stumbled upon Bare Necessity Wax & Spa by chance, but am so thankful that I did. Amy was fantastic - she made me feel very comfortable from the minute I walked in the door. She uses a strip-free wax (where i goes on warm, hardens a bit, then gets pulled off without the use of fabric strips). She did a fabulous job with the shaping and my eyebrows looked great.
