She came back to purchase some items for her clinicals. She had the receipt for these two items that were never used nor opened. She was told they could be returned with a receipt and unopened. I was with her in the store when the owner spoke very rudely to my daughter and said these clearly have been opened the pass package is dented in and we do not sell items like this. I walked over to the other items on the shelf that they had hanging for sale that were exactly the same, and all these were dented in also the plastic on them when I'd let her know how rudely she was talking to my daughter she said well this one time I'll return them but they're clearly opened. I said oh so you're calling my daughter a liar. She said not one word and refunded the money. My daughter nor I will ever shop here again and I'll tell everybody who's thinking about shopping here about our experience. Even after I posted this review, the owner of the store contacted me and said they apologized that I wasn't happy, but who would be happy when they've been called a liar or dishonest and who would wanna contact them back or do business with them I don't understand. There is nothing else to discuss regardless of whether they issued a refund. It's the principle of this bad for the bad review.

The shop has the familiar feel of a classic surplus store, but what stood out most was the older gentleman behind the counter. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable--engaging without being overbearing, which we really appreciated. He pointed us in the right direction and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Not only did we find what we needed, but everything was very affordable--which was a pleasant surprise. For anyone working on a project or just looking for solid military gear without breaking the bank, this place is worth checking out. Coming from a proud military family--my sons, their father, my husband, grandparents, and great-grandparents have all served--I truly appreciated his candor and expertise. It's clear this isn't just a shop; it's a space built on experience and respect. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Panic set in and fortunately we were able to drive the 30 minutes out to Advantage gear that day. We got there about an hour before they closed for the weekend. The young lady who helped us was not panicked and assured us that they would have his uniforms done in time, with patches and embroidery done. They also had the shoes, belt, etc...he would need, in stock. Whew! As promised, we received the uniforms within a weeks time which gave my husband the time to prep the uniform for his swearing in day. We couldn't be any more thankful for the care and service we received in a pinch!

Today I went in to get some patches as I am going out of the State for a vacation and will be patch trading. The manger was just as unhelpful and then ultimately told me they would not sell me anything due to some policy they made up over selling patches Individually Simple to say I will never be shopping here again. I rate 'em 3 stars. According to Yelp ratings' definitions, that's "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of something that does day in and day out what it is there to do. It's NOT a negative review because doing day in and day out what it is there to do is NOT an easy thing to accomplish. The owner of this business likes their Freedom so they have a Military and Veterans Discount as a thank you to Veterans with a publicly disclosed daily Veterans Discount which provides resource to ensure Veterans (rare 7% of the population) and GIs (rare 1/2 of one percent of the population) opportunity to participate in American Dream Veterans and GIs' sacrifices have made possible for 100% of the population. For my Customer Rule is: Always patronize again a business that has treated you well AND supports Veterans and Active Duty with a publicly disclosed daily Military and Veterans Discount. March is Women's History Month and National Disability Awareness Month Born in 1913 in Smithtown, N.Y Elsie Ott attended Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing in New York City after completing high school. Ott joined the US Army Air Corps Army Nurse Corps in September 1941. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, sent to Louisiana and Virginia USA then Karachi, India. As World War II progressed beginning September 1939, US Army Air Force Air Transport Command grew quickly into the world's biggest airline. Its routes circled the globe transporting passengers and cargo. That demonstrated the potential of global air evacuation of wounded GIs. World War II forced the US Army Air Corps to pioneer military medical care because of the quickly resulting development of air evacuations of wounded GIs. One of those pioneers was Flight Nurse 2nd Lieutenant Elsie S. Ott. She was on the first intercontinental air evacuation aka air ambulance flight. It originated from Karachi, India to evacuate wounded GIs directly to Walter Reed military hospital in Washington, D.C. Ott received her assignment to this historic flight with only 24 hours' notice. She had no flying experience and had never flown before. The only medical equipment available to her was a first aid kit. No medical professional screened the patients who were to fly with Ott, and she and a Sergeant with a medical background were the only people on board to care for patients. The military evacuation plane left Karachi, India with five wounded GIs 17 January 1943. Normally a three-month trip by ship, after stops along the way for refueling, the US Army Air Force plane reached Walter Reed military hospital nearly a week after beginning. This shortened time for medical care was life-saving to wounded GIs. Ott knew that her report on this first med evac trip would be crucial for further planning, and she immediately sat down to make notes for future med evac flights. She listed the need for oxygen, more wound-dressing supplies, more coffee and blankets. She also noted that her wearing a skirt was impractical for this kind of Duty. Two months later, Ott received US Air Medal, the first given to a woman in the US Army, for her role in the evacuation flight. The Air Medal is awarded to US and civilian personnel for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievements while participating in aerial flight and foreign military personnel in actual combat in support of operations. Required achievement is less than that required for the Distinguished Flying Cross, but must be accomplished with distinction above and beyond that expected of everyday Duty. It is not awarded for peace time sustained operational activities and flights. Ott was promoted to Captain. World War ended 2 September 1945. She was Honorably Discharged in 1946. Nearly 20 years later in 1965, Captain Ott was selected to christen a new type of air ambulance: the C-9 Nightingale.

I have actually never been so upset and concerned regarding a purchase…read more (PLEASE READ) I have been purchasing items for over a year from this location. July '24 I ordered a name badge and when I got the text saying it was ready I went into the store about a week or two later. They had another part of my order ready but no name badge. I remember being told "it's not ready" I had to come back the following week later just to pick this up. Mind you- I live over an hour and a half away as this is the closest uniform store to me. I had colleagues tell me " your vest is ready" and had literally no clue what they were talking about just laughed it off. To my surprise, I walk into the store and see my name badge on a mannequin. Front and center. I'm thinking how long has this been on there, I ask Wade (the guy at the counter) if I could have it after he admits they've had it up for months without my knowledge. He tells me to hold off on the transaction. Thinking he just has to put the product info he ends up charging me $22 dollars for this name badge. I go back in the store surprised I've just been charged. I explain I remember being told the badge wasn't ready when really it probably was just misplaced, and I had to come back to the store out of my own inconvenience, the products been promoted at numerous academies, and the only explanation I received was "it's only promoted to people who come in to buy and at the academy" Okay- not every one who may walk into that store needs to know my name- given my VERY unique and VERY uncommon last name. Professionally.. Unless someone needs to know my name-- I will tell them myself. My name was being "promoted" without 1) consent 2) knowledge and on top of the embarrassment they wanted to charge me $22 for a name badge that wouldn't exist had they had my order ready? No discount for my items, or even a store credit? There are other mannequins with peoples names on them being "promoted" and I don't think they would be happy finding out. Use J. Doe on your name badges for promotion of your name badges and not the names of actual Public Safety officials
