This place does a pretty awesome brunch for a burger joint! Food was all super fresh tasting. Important to note: for New York, this location had a significant amount of seating available. Most places are a tight squeeze but it was quite comfortable here. I enjoyed the big boy breakfast, consisting of eggs, waffles, bacon & home fries. The meal was filling and fresh. Stopped in here after a beautiful day at the park. Was on the walk back to my house. Haven't been here in a minute! I remember this was the first location that had opened up in the Astoria area and was so good! Still is so good! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Came to check on us often. Good music playing above and not too loud, food was delicious as usual. This location is nice and spacious, wasn't too crowded for a Sunday evening- but that's just the way I like it. I always opt for the bison burger when I visit a Bareburger. I had my kids with me as well and they have an adorable little kids menu to choose from thankfully- since they are picky. This particular location has a nice outdoor seating area as well- and it's on the sidewalk- not in the street (which I can't stand btw ugh) I also treated myself to a frozen berry margarita and it was so good! First time checking this place it was highly recommended by a friend trying their impossible burger which is a soy hep based patty that resembles a meat consistency. I decided to get the blue elk burger which was moist and flavorful but didn't blow me away. We ordered a side of fries and onion rings to share with the group. My other party members ordered build your own burgers with a wide selection of additions to their patty ranging from a sprout bun to the impossible patty to eggs and sauces to jazz up your burger. I've been to this Bareburger a few times and it's always been a pleasant experience. The servers are usually friendly and attentive, and they help you understand the menu. I rarely build my own burger, since they have nice options available for cheaper combinations. I love the Buckaroo, and their sweet potato fries. Their regular fries and dips are good too. Their brioche bun is my favorite, if you're going to go for a fancier meat such as duck or for the fig jam thing, it's really good. We only received the burgers. We were trying to flag the waitress, and she was busy socializing with her coworkers. We had to get up and ask her for the app. She said she forgot to give it to the kitchen. So out of nowhere while we are finishing up our meal the manager told us "we are closed and you have to get out now!" and he walked away. He did not give us the check. Again, the staff is busy socializing, and we got up to ask for the check. They apparently thought we paid it already. We ordered Bareburger through seamless last night and they really dropped the ball and where not up to the usual standard. I ordered "the forager", a beyond burger. They let you add and remove things so I removed the "smoke sauce" and paid to add another sauce. They did not make the switch. The smoke sauce was gross and plentiful so the burger was ruined. My partner had the fake chicken nuggets. They were soggy like they had been cooked halfway in the microwave. The shakes we had were amazing. But since neither of us had an entree because they were poorly prepared, it was not worth the price + $5 delivery fee (They deliver themselves) and tip. My sister recently stopped eating meat, and in an effort of being a supportive sister, I decided to take her out to Bareburger for some burgers! We got there around 7:30pm on a Saturday, and it was pretty empty! We were seated right away. I ordered the Impossible Burger (~$14) and Beyond Burger (~$13) for us to share. I also got a side of Rings & Fries (~$10) with 2 sauces. We chose the Smoke Sauce (a BBQ sauce) and the Special Sauce (a mix of ketchup, mayo, and mustard). I also had a regular fountain drink (~$3). The Impossible Burger comes with the impossible burger patty, organic American cheese, caramelized onions, dill pickles, green leaf, and special sauce on a brioche bun. The Beyond Burger comes with the beyond burger patty, vegan American cheese, sweet pickles, red onions, ketchup and mayo on a sprout bun. To my surprise, both were delicious! I probably wouldn't think these were vegan if I was just given one to try. They were great! My sister loved them. The fries and rings were also great, and complimented the burgers well. It did end up being pretty pricy, however. Altogether, it amounted to ~$45, which is on the more expensive side for burgers. They were definitely good tries and I enjoyed the meal; I would come back here but not frequently because of the cost. read more

This has been my go- to burger place and I very much hope that it will return to that, but it will be a while before I eat from here again. The meat tasted nothing like it usually does. I am an OG bareburger person. I remember them back in the day where their whole thing was interesting meats - the ostrich burger days. I've eaten at this location, the Ditmars location before it closed, the Bayside location, one of their Manhattan locations when they first rolled out the impossible burger. I've stuck through them the streamlining of their menu more towards beef (which I don't eat) and veggie options (which I'm not), and through multiple price hikes. I'm done with them. In March I placed a pickup order at this location got there 10 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready and it wasn't. There were a whole mess of us waiting - both the deliveristas and a bunch of people like me waiting for pick up orders. All told my order (a basic burger and fries) was ready 40 minutes after they said it would be! And they weren't especially apologetic or explaining as to why. They sent me a coupon code but I was wary about going back there. Today I placed another order this time for delivery. I had to do some stuff in the home and I figured I'd order a sandwihich and it would arrive by the time I was done with my puttering. It wasn't. The order was supposed to arrive at 7:50pm, the app noted that my dasher was there at 7:22pm (note: I ordered through the bareburger website they choose to partner with door dash). At 7:50 no order. At 8 I called to ask what was up - i didn't yell, I didn't scream totally professional - the food was ready they said they were waiting for a dasher. But the app says a dasher is there I said, we'll check they said and hung up on me. I wait 15 minutes and call back - voice mail. That's weird, so I call back a few more times "sorry we can't take your call". So I call from a work number, it goes through right away. I ask to please cancel my order, they put me on hold and after 5 minutes I hang up, and call back. Suddenly this number is getting "sorry we can't take your call too." You heard right - if you call to ask about the status of the order and you call back they start filtering your phone calls so you can't cancel your order. Finally at 8:27pm an hour and 8 minutes after I placed my order - again a basic chicken burger and fries - I get a text from doordash saying the dasher has picked up my order. Now here's the thing, my meal had been ready at 8 the way they said it was when it arrives, even if it was on the hot plate it should be warm, not hot (I know from experience of being way too late to pick up my order). If it's hot it means they lied the sandwich wasn't ready when they said it was (I'm like a 5 minute bike ride from the locale). The sandwich arrived hot. What's worse when I texted the bareburger customer service person to be like no for real this is not ok for a basic burger and fries to take 90 minutes to arrive they tried to throw the door dash person under the bus saying they had waited for another order. Maybe they did! But the sandwich was hot when it arrived so they couldn't have waited for that long! And it was not the deliverista who refused to cancel my order! It wasn't the deliverista who censored my phone calls! Never effing again. read more

I can't stress how many times I have passed a Bareburger and have not gone inside. SO MANY TIMES. They are everywhere now and finally chalked down and did it. I lie. I actually had been to the Bareburger in Astoria only once before for drinks. I had a pumpkin beer, sampled my friends' drinks and hung out there while taking in their very cool silverware chandelier lightshades. My friend's fiance is obsessed with their Salty Dogs. However, they recently rotated it out of their seasonal menu. Bring it back so that Tom doesn't have to drink Moscow Mules when he comes in! We came for brunch a few weeks ago on probably one of the coldest days of the year. It was a bit of a wait but I guess worth it. My drink was kind of lame. I didn't taste a lot of booze but really wanted something refreshing and went with the blood orange frozen margarita. I swear the first time I went in when I tried a small sample of it it had tasted significantly stronger. The problem with ordering from Bareburger is that you have to order everything individually. Yes, their burgers are pretty epic. They are worth the price value times a million and there are so many varieties and you can build your own burger. But fries cost extra. It's only $2.80 for the additional side though and it is shareable and a pretty large portion. Don't let the other shareable items option confuse you into purchasing triple the amount of fries you want for like $5. On my visit I was pretty indecisive. I wanted to try everything but went with the Wiki Wiki: Wild Boar meat with gouda, duck bacon, chickpea onions, and pineapple relish on a brioche bun. It was both sweet and decadently savory dripping with juices and had a bit of crispness from the battered onions. I inhaled it. One of my friends had ordered the Fire Quacker (which would have been my next choice): Duck meat with pepper jack cheese, habanero mayo, pickled jalapenos, red onions, spinach, and tomato. My friend's fiance went with the healthy vegetarian burger alternative - The Guadalupe - Black bean burger with pickled red onions, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, and guacamole on a sprout bun. The fries were just okay. Again, I'd just get one side and share it with the table because the burgers are pretty filling in themselves. Things I like the most about this place: the variety of quality meats, cheeses, vegetables, and sauces to decorate your bun with is something that brings tears of joy to my little blue eyes. They also sell awesome sounding sandwiches (Hot Honey Chicken, Buttermilk Buffalo) making your quest for deciding on what to order that much more of an obstacle. So I decided to get a medium rare bison burger roadhouse style - which includes country bacon, hass avocado, pepperjack, sweet apple grilled onions, fire roasted red peppers, and smoked paprika mayo. In terms of the bison itself, it just tastes like a healthier, chewier version of beef and lacking a bit of flavor. I thought it was a bit odd that I enjoyed the toppings of the burger than the actual meat itself. I'm probably just accustomed to greasy beef patties. We also shared a large order of onion rings. I loved that it came with three different sauces. These were also very tasty. These burgers may appear small but don't let the looks deceive you. They are actually quite filling. Hi, my name is Brie & yes I confess I came here for a small Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. I'm not a fan of burgers unless it's homemade or from Five Guys. My salad was fresh, crisp & delicious. Perfect amount of grilled Chicken, dressing & shaved Parmesan Cheese. The salad was a perfect choice because it filled me up rather quickly.
