Grilled smash is obviously a gimmick, but they serve above average smash burgers for sure. Fries reminded me of an old mcdonalds fry recipe, clearly enhanced by the tallow. The accoutrements with the burger were not unnoticed, and an easy differentiator from chains like 7th which are basically naked. Clearly a step above most smash burger spots, would be happy to come here again. read more

No frills smash burger spot. I wouldn't say the best I've ever had, but pretty darn good. Note that the "grill smash" has an inside out bun. We're were confused on the difference, but noticed when ordering on the kiosk screen. I did like that they had pictures of the menu items when ordering. That helped with decision making. Fries were old school and delicious. You order from a kiosk, then grab and go. Prices were comparable as well. read more

Solid burger. I wish it was thicker. I also enjoyed the fries. They taste like McDonald's fries but are better. Service was friendly and efficient. You put your order in a screen. The store is small but clean and laid back store. There is more seating outside. read more

I was surprised when walked and saw a sign pointing to sma.sha burger and when I mean surprised I mean surprised i never seen that location. But I'm honestly so happy I got to eat here it's a brand new location near focal brewery but wow the food was so so tasty. I got a cheeseburger burger with everything and I got tallow fries honestly it was my first time having sma. Sha and it's so cool to have a burger joint right next to one of my favorite breweries in long island city. The burger was juicy the pnp sauce was so so good and or price wasn't even bad and it was so good it's very hard to miss tho most of the time they have a sign out so it should help you. On top of the food being delicious affordable the service and the staff from my experience have been friendly the restaurant is extremely clean the interior is beautifu. The restaurant is currently having problems with cash payments so make easier for everybody and take your card. If you are in long island city and want a nice beer go to focal and start a tab and then go buy a burger and some tallow fries I highly recommend. read more

Not a bad west coast burger that reminds me of Shake Shack, but just....missing something. Perhaps it's all the beef tallow? The burger is rich and juicy, and cooked to order. It's a bit greasy but still flavorful. I wanted to like it more than I did, and I can't quite put my finger on it. The space is modern and minimalist, with some tasteful plants as decorations around the eating space. There is not too many tables but if you go off peak hours you will find a seat. You know this is actually a nice treat. I had no idea this place existed. They've been open since September 2025. The price of a buger is 9.95 w/o fries. The fries cost $5.49, sweet potato fries are 5.95 and loaded are$ 8.49. I love that they have the Mexican cola here because that's all I can drink. The inside is so pretty and definitely has a section that is IG worthy. Theres a cute wall that has plants on one side as you walk in. I love the fact that the tables are silver. I think they might have beer eventually theres some nozzles in the front by the ordering computer. From what I can tell the kitchen looks really clean. We came in on a snowy day so it wasn't packed at all. I also needed to charge my phone so I felt good about that. The plus is they are right next to focal. Everyone knows a nice burger and a beer is clutch. ::bathroom alert:: Super clean, they had nice soap too. I appreciated a clean bathroom. The customer service was really sweet. We stopped by here to try out their burgers. We opted for the double cheeseburger and added on some jalapeños. We also got a cookies & cream milkshake. The burger was oily but so tasty. The jalapeños gave it a good kick. The milkshake was thick and sweet, complementing the savory burger well. We ordered through InKind but wouldn't do so in the future (we realized every item is $2 more on InKind!). Tucked away in this industrial cut of Long Island City Sma.sha was a delight to encounter. With a view of the 59th street bridge and olive green ceilings. This spot will satisfy your smashed burger desires. With a menu that gets to the point. The smashed burgers were perfectly thin and tasted great. Definitely recommend a double if you're looking to stack. The milkshakes come with the cherry on top and only have the cookies and cream and strawberry. The French fries are nice a crispy and the sweet potato fries are good as well. There are no cashiers so you have to order on the touch pad or online. This is a nice sit down smash burger restaurant . The restaurant has a nice modern design and like another reviewer mentioned , numerous charging ports etc to help keep you powered up. It gets full marks on that aspect, but not on their food . I was not impressed with their cheeseburger and neither the sweet potato fries . Breaking down the burger , if first say the bun was so frickin soggy. It was as though they over-buttered the bun and the bread ended up being a virtual non-factor really to the overall taste of the burger . The jalapeño wasn't tamed sufficiently and instead of it adding a little heat it went overboard and just didn't mesh well with the overall burger unlike another place , KO burger in canal street area for eg . The patty was cooked well and wider than the sandwich so I'll give some credit for that and their sauce helped and didn't hurt the overall flavor I'll rate the burger a 3/5 . As for the fries , it was cooked in the all recent craze , "beef tallow" . The tallowed fries weren't very crispy and had no seasoning etc and honestly I could've done without it . For the amount of smashed burger spots out there I'd rate this middle of the pack if not lower and for all the ambiance and great service , I just can't imagine ever revisiting . read more

Cool spot to have stumbled across as the other places around it are worth coming back to and just hanging out there is nice. Ordered the smash burger, fried chicken sandwich, regular fries and sweet potato fries. They had some seats outside so you order and can eat it right there picnic style. They utilize kiosk style order but we ordered online to save time. The food was prepared before the estimated time and looked like it was sitting there for a bit. No worries just wish they would have provided accurate times. Due to this the food temperature was not ideal and affected the taste and texture. The burger was good but to be honest nothing unique about this and similar to shake shack with some Big Mac sauce. The chicken sandwich got soggy and was a mess to eat as the bread melted off. The fries were ok and wish they were warmer but even so the texture and taste were just ok. All in all happy to try it, find a cool place to hang out and will explore the other side places in the area. read more

Burgers here are great, and the beef tallow fries are super simple but really tasty. I usually like thinner patties, but the double is perfect. They're still in their soft opening, and I'm excited for when they fully open and add milkshakes. Definitely something this area needed. A small little burger joint. We tried the lettuce burger, double-patty smash burger, and loaded fries. Overall, the burgers were pretty solid and juicy; the patties were on the smaller side though (and +$4 for each additional patty). Nonetheless, we thought the burgers were overall pretty good. The loaded fries were fried in beef tallow (you can taste it) and cheesy. Solid loaded fries! Wish they had a touch more onions but that's just a minor comment. read more
