Wow. This place truely hits the "fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me" saying. I really wanted Bareburger to be good even great....but it's not. Simply, the o-rings are over breaded, the fries, sweet not regular, are underdone, and the burger is not juice or flavorful at all. This place has a bar (unlike Edgewater) so pluses for that but same bad food. I don't care that it's organic. Organic never has and never will mean better food! So to those who say it's organic it must be good...keep thinking that. Tonight I ordered my (bison) burger medium and my g/f ordered hers med/well. Clearly I got her patty and vise verse. This isn't the first time this happened to us here. I want to love this place it is fun, they are doing some different things, and they are trying to do good things. The food is always good, but the service has gone downhill tremendously. While I was seated, groups of people would enter the restaurant and stand by the front to be seated. They would have to wait an unreasonable amount of time before an employee would come over. Tables near me were neglected by waitstaff, as the customers would sit for upwards of 15 minutes before someone would come over and bring water or take their order. At the table next to me, a child spilled his milkshake all over the table and floor before he left. Employees noticed that there was a huge mess but would just walk away and do nothing. The table sat with a milkshake dripping on the floor at least until i left the restaurant thirty minutes later. My electronic menu device kept dying probably due to a low battery. My food also took forever. I was lucky in that my waitress was the only person working for that restaurant that was pleasant and cared about her job. She is carrying that restaurant on her shoulders. Where is the management???? Why has the service gotten so slow and sloppy???? I usually always get the Buffalo chicken sandwich (which is amazing), and I am admittedly not a huge burger eater (but i love a good chicken sandwich). ANYWAY - I decided to get the Flamin' Bacon Burger, and it was amazing. It was everything I want in a burger. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful and just enough amount of spice, the sauce was delicious. My friend ordered the Matador - I didn't try it not my thing, but she loved it. We split an order of of fries which were also amazing. The service was amazing, everyone was super helpful, and helped in suggesting the burgers and explaining the menu. I have really only ever ordered take out previously so I was only familiar with the basic of the menu. Having the servers help to explain the menu and make suggestions was really helpful. Came back for more and didn't regret it! When we came in there were lots of people but one section was almost barren. We asked to sit there to get away from the loudness of other tables and we are so glad we did. Olivia was such a doll, she even tried to help me plead my case to my boyfriend to get him to get something besides the supreme, and we won! He made a burger instead. My collard wrap was amazing as always and his burger seemed pretty filling since we had to take the rest home. Funny enough, he didn't get to enjoy the left overs before the cat got to them. My husband and I got take out here. We sat at the bar waiting for our order. About 15 minutes later the girl who took our order went on break. She apparently told no one else we were waiting on an order. By the time we got home our food was cold. Beyond that, it was inedible. I ordered a well-done burger and instead it was rare. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich. He always finishes his food but even after re-heating he couldn't eat more than a couple bites it was so awful. I usually get the chicken bites / guapo chop / or brussels sprouts!! not the biggest fan of their burgers but there's enough variety in the menu that I never feel like I'm out of options! "younger" spot and a fun place to hang out with my friends!! not a place you would want to go to for an intimate conversation but not too loud that you can't have a personal conversation!! weekends tend to be busy and they don't take reservations- but I've never had to wait longer than 10-15 minutes for a table!! their booths are really comfortable as well! Let me start by saying I love Bareburger burgers, however location does matter. I went to the Closter location because it's closer to my home, but the service is consistently terrible. My first experience wasn't so bad which is why I've went back. After my last few experience on 6/18/18 at the Closter location I will not go back. They are generally understaffed and I have to wait to be seated, I waited about 5 mins the last time and ended up just sitting at the bar with my friend hoping it would be quicker. I ended up getting comp because my burger was under cooked, I asked for it well done but that was just another screw up. Usually have to assist myself and go get straws and napkins because the service is super slow. I've had to send my glass back on 2 occasions because the glass was clearly dirty (more than just water spots). Thankfully there is another Bareburger location in Edgewater, so I just go there from now on because I can't handle the disappointed at the Closter location. The staff has always been friendly but otherwise the speed and service is not up to par. I recommend them hiring more staff to avoid unhappy customers/bad reviews. read more

Burgers get 5 STARS (cooked to perfection). But, the Service gets 2 STARS and Music was Too LOUD! We had a hard time talking - Management do something about the music, just a little lower would be nice, and tell your Servers to check in on their customers. I had to get up and ask for our menus. Finally, after we got our Burger, fries and drinks our waiter was no where to be found for a long while. When it was time to pay for our check we had to ask another staff member for the check we had no idea where he was. We usually go to the Bareburger in Westchester, NY on Central Ave where the service is always good, and the Music is always very low. These fries are disgusting. they look like the worker grabbed a bag of fries from the garbage, refried and packaged them to serve. I don't understand how anyone could think these are okay. Keep in mind fries are 7$ and the ones you can order with a sandwich is 5$. Also, the bread from the triple decker I ordered tasted stale AF!!!!!! Tasted like bread that was left out for over a day. This place is a great spot to grab a burger made exactly the way you like it. They also have a bar so you can grab a beer to wash down your burger. I've been here for lunch a few times but never ate in till this day. The first waiter we had was super nice & helpful. But right before we got our food he said he had to go unexpectedly and pointed across the room to a girl that would be our new waitress. She briefly came over right after we got our food and asked how everything was, but then didn't come over for 15/20 minutes! And! We saw our original waiter serving other tables on the other side of the room! Some other kid came over eventually and asked if we needed anything so we ordered dessert and got the check because I couldn't be sure when someone would come by again. This strange server experience aside, the food was really good. Everything was generally well cooked & fresher than my couple of lunch pickups. I got the beyond meat burger and the macho fries which were all delicious (unfortunately they don't yet carry beyond sausage). Really enjoyed a few cold Dead man ales, and honestly if not for the inconsistency of staff this experience would be 5 stars. Was super excited to take the kids to an organic burger place! What can I say? The only thing that was good were the sweet potato fries. The burger and chicken sandwich we ordered were sooo salty! The service was horrible. We had no napkins, no straws, no ketchup the whole time we sat and dined there since our waitress never came to check on us (dark hair and glasses). I went to bare burger today with two of my friends and had a great experience. I had the impossible burger, one of my friends had the supreme, and the other one had the blazin' bison. We also ordered the ring & sweet fries and chicken bites to share. There was nothing special about the chicken bites and the sauces weren't our favorites, but their sweet potato fries were AMAZING! They are super soft and the sauces proved to be a great match. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the impossible burger with the collard green. It's truly a great combo. Lastly, I have to say, they have great service! Our server, LUKE, was really sweet and super helpful! He was so patient with us when we were still discussing what to get after we called him over (sorry about that). He was very friendly and informative about the food. My friend has been wanting to give this spot a try, so we found out this place was by her house. I've been to two different Bareburger locations and I must say, this restaurant has the cutest interior design: the door has a crescent moon design and when you walk in, it's a cute rusty design. My friend and I sat the bar, but we didn't know we came just in time for happy hour so we got a 12 oz. of beer for $4. I tried their prairie dog which was a quinoa patty on a brioche bun. I really liked it, but I definitely needed to add mustard and ketchup for more flavor. I appreciate this spot because they offer vegetarian friendly food just in case you're not in the mood to kill all your calories in one meal. It is a bit pricey, but worth its price. read more

My first experience at Bareburger happened recently...once Covid settled down and I needed to feed my kids a quick dinner before a movie next door. We have not been able to stop ordering our dinners or lunches here ever since that first wonderful experience. The food is delicious (HUGE brussel sprouts and Impossible nuggets fan), the service is quick (but not rushed), the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the take out app could not be easier to use for this middle aged tech-unsavvy mother of 3. I have met Jason, the manager of this site, and there is no wonder why things run so smoothly...whether we dine in or take out (which is AT LEAST 3x a week lately). I ordered the Blue Elk with elk, amish blue, bacon, caramelized onions, tomato fig jam on a sprout bun. Not sure what a sprout bun was, but it turned out to be a whole wheat bun with oat shavings on top. The burger was tender and meaty, and the flavors balanced in the just the right way - the sweet tanginess of the fig jam complemented the tofu-ish textures of the elk. The bun, to my surprise, was actually soft and tender, perfect to bite into if your wisdom teeth is growing out like mine. We got a side of the farmer's basket salad and let's not forget the pièce-de-résistance, the rings and sweet fries combo.
