I used to go to Tapas on New Britain Ave in West Hartford frequently. They closed with CoVid. I rediscovered them today in Glastonbury! Hooray! I got a Greek salad with that fabulous herbal dressing, and a cup of soup to go. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of both. The crewperson told me when I picked up my order they were relocating soon to West Hartford. I hope the new spot will have a dining room. I want to buy five bottles of that dressing. Nice location and comfy interior, lovely staff, fast service! Had the Roadside Gyro with fries. Good, ate it all pretty quickly, but was not blown away. Wrap, sauces and veggies were great. The lamb in this dish was tasty but not stand-out. Fries had a nice chunky waffle cut and good seasoning. Portion size was definitely satisfying. I was NOT a fan of the polystyrene serving container. It's 2025; please give me something biodegradable. Overall: a satisfying, tasty meal, not mind-expanding, some caveats. I was so excited to try this place after my dentist appointment, and it was right across the street. Took around 15 minutes from when I ordered online to pick up my order, and it wasn't super busy inside for dinner time, only 1 other person. I ordered the Ultimate Gyro and it was PACKED with stuff. So much meat, a fluffy pita, and tons of toppings. I honestly could eat this every night. The version I ordered had two types of sauce, and I honestly wish I stuck to just the tzatziki, but theres always next time! I also saw they have Gyro bowls, which I can't wait to try. I got waffle fries on the side, they were delicious and I was given HUGE portion. I probably could've made this meal stretch our for 2 nights if I wanted to. I used to visit Tapas when it was in West Hartford, and even the Tapas that used to be on Ann Street in Downtown Hartford back in the day. Tapas spoiled me for other similar places in two ways. First, when you order their Ultimate Gyro, you get -- not one sauce -- TWO sauces. Tzatziki and Mad Greek sauce (a tangy red sauce). For years, I would go to other places and try to order two sauces, and they would look at me like I was crazy. Two, I was addicted to their Greek salad dressing. When the WeHa location closed, I entered a 13 Step Program (yeah it was that bad), and now I'm OK, but it was touch and go for a little bit. It's not like the Bloomfield location is the longest drive from my Newington home, but I couldn't bring myself to make the drive. Two weeks ago, I learned from Yelper Laura B's review that Tapas opened as a takeout business (in the old Spicy Green Bean space on Hebron). That's about 10 minutes for me. I visited for lunch for an Ultimate Beef Gyro and a side Greek salad. I also bought a bottle of the Greek Salad Dressing. The Tapas beef mixture and the pita are both good, but what I really love is the two sauces and the amount of veggie toppings. Lettuce. Tomato. Red Onion. The Ultimate Gyro is a better than the sum of its parts kind of thing. You can get fries, including great waffle fries, as your side. But I was craving the Greek salad. The dressing never disappoints. It's so herb and spice-filled and delicious. I also like the way that the good feta comes in small pieces so it distributes well. The pitted olives are tangy and very satisfying as well. I'm happy to have a Tapas nearby again. It's part of the lunch rotation for me. An enthusiastic Four Stars. read more

Ok, now this is a pickup spot and I'll admit I've never actually been the one to go in and pick up the food! I have ordered and it's been ready on time, and is always fresh and the protein is hot as it should be, so I have no complaints about service. I LOVED and was a regular at Tapa's in WeHa before it closed, so I was thrilled to be able to get my favorite Tapa's Greek salad nearby again when this spot opened! The almost famous dressing is as delicious as I remembered, and I actually think I need a bottle soon! The salmon I ordered with one of my salads was still hot and cooked perfectly medium rare, while packed separately as to not heat up any parts of my fresh cold salad! I am a fan, I was a fan and am still a huge fan...and kind of wish this spot was in my town! But, it's not that far so I will continue to get my favorite Greek salads! The feta is just different and better than what my go to replacement favorite was before this location opened! I remember my mom's boyfriend asking how he could go back to crappy store bought hummus after trying some of Tapas hummus, and well, that's a great question! It will never be the same again once you get things here that you thought were good elsewhere. You will be spoiled, and you'll want it again and again. We even ordered from the winery in town one evening! Perfect solution, we didn't want cheese and crackers they sell at the winery, and Tapas is to go only so this was a win-win solution, that I recommend! read more

Tapas is takeout only but in our opinion it is the best food in Glastonbury, take out or eat in. All of their dishes are top quality, fresh and delicious. The are super quick to prepare the order and the staff is always friendly, helpful, and efficient. If there was a six star option, they'd get out from me.....just excellent. We just finished the seafood platter with a hummus plate. The salmon, shrimp and crab cakes were cooked to perfection and the fresh hummus with the extras was made quick work of with the delicious and fresh pita bread. read more

Love this place and family! We visited Tapas regularly when they had locations in Hartford and West Hartford. Both my brother and sister worked for them at the former, and I have plenty of memories not just of the food but late night laughs and cocktails. I was jumping for joy when I learned of this reiteration right here in town after years going without! Can confirm their cheese fries and falafel remain as delicious as I remembered! I feel like I've been hearing about the wonder that is Tapas for years and when they opened a location in Glastonbury, I knew I had to try it out! I will definitely update this review once I try more menu items but I was craving a salad the other day and I had heard so many amazing things about their Greek salad so that's what I got! The salad definitely lived up to my expectations as it was loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onion, and I opted for grilled chicken and they provided a huge amount. Don't even get me started on their Greek dressing, because I now fully understand why it's so famous. It had the most incredible flavor that I can't even begin to describe. First time here and I think it's safe to say I would definitely come back. Just so you are aware it is solely a take out place. The parking is a little difficult to figure out in the dark if you have never been but there are spaces right in front. The food was very good. I got the simple hummus with pita and the hummus had a good flavor. I also ordered the ultimate gyro with the combo chicken and beef. It was quite yummy, my only complaint would be the lack of meat, definitely could've used a lot more meat for the price you pay, I was a little disappointed. I imagined it would be stuffed with a little lettuce but had more lettuce than meat. For the meat that was there it tasted pretty good the sauces all had good flavor. Now you know this first visit had to include the Ultimate Gryo loaded with meat and tatziki and mad Greek sauce let me tell you it did not disappoint. With a side of Greek salad to top it off oh my Lord it was heavenly. Just as I remembered if you haven't had a meal from Tapas and are a fan of Gyros and Greek Salad you are missing out. Finally gave this place a try and ordered their salmon bowl. I was having a little 'self-care' evening and wanted something on the healthy side. This totally hit the spot. Fresh veggies, tons of salmon, hummus, it was all a plus. It felt kind of pricey after tax/tip it was $20, but I think I could split a bowl and grab an app for two people and it wouldn't break the bank. It was a lot of food and a lot of salmon. Plus pita! My husband brought this home for lunch. We got the sampler platter. EVERYTHING was delicious! The chicken kabob was juicy and flavorful. The rice was really good. He also got the Cesar salad. I wouldn't order that again. Over all this was a wonderful lunch would recommend! read more

Since I was diagnosed with Covid I've been ordering lots of take out. Tonight was one of my favorite. I wanted something different. I can not say much about the atmosphere fore I did not pick up the items. However, I was told the place is take out only and has comfy chairs to wait in. I was also told the cashier had the order ready but there was an unnecessary wait for the food since it was already prepared and waiting to be taken home. The hummus and pita bread was perfect! I hate when I can taste lemon in the hummus that was not the case tonight. It was a good consistency and the pita was nice and fluffy and soft. The chicken kabob was flavorful but the texture was a hit or miss. I kinda wonder if this was bc the item sat longer than expected so some pieces were a tad over cooked. The rice was flavorful as well. The have all the Greek basics so I'll be back to try more. read more

Wonderful place for fresh well seasoned take out. The chicken shawarma is great as is the Greek salad. Everything is ready when you show up.

I ordered a Caesar salad with dressing on the side. When they brought it out it was dressed. They went back and bought out a new one with the dressing on the side. The chicken was nicely cooked and there was 3 nicely sliced pieces. Unfortunately, there were no croutons, and the cheese was finely grated and sparsely over the top. It was not what I am used to having for a Caesar salad. That was usually a safe item to order. It was very disappointing. The final issue was I had a gift card that I bid on at an auction. I paid just about full price for the card at the auction. I gave it to them they said it was never activated. Gee, I wonder whose fault that was? Not a great experience! read more

Husband and I ordered delivery here for the first time last night. We both got ultimate gyros - mine with a beef and chicken combo, his with the "roadhouse" meat, which is beef/lamb. Everything arrived hot and fresh, the gyros were delicious. We ordered dolmas, but they accidentally gave us a Greek salad instead. We called to let them know and they refunded us without an issue. The chicken gyro, beef gyro, falafal, and chicken shwarma are all awesome, but the greek salad and "Almost Famous" Mediterranean dressing are the best I've ever had. Tapas is not only totally inconsistent with the way they cook but they also do not know the meaning of customer service. I always get a salad & chicken . Sometimes it's good sometimes it isn't Today I was reprimanded for letting them know that today's chicken was completely burnt! Well that's not the only thing that was burnt because I know a lot of people in Glastonbury and I will make sure they boycott tapas too. They lost at least 10 customers today. Regardless they have no business sense and are clearly struggling my prediction is they will be closed within a year. read more

Such a cute little addition to Glastonbury, especially as my favorite cuisine! My husband and I ordered gyros and a Mediterranean sampler appetizer. I thought the gyros were delicious!
