Located near Cruz Bay in st John, this is a walkable spot from the port and also about a 3 minute drive from the car ferry. Small but dedicated parking lot shared with a laundromat. To go orders only. Their americano and their iced mocha latte with oatmilk were GREAT! Half decaf and decaf espressos are available as well which I appreciated. they serve savory and sweet pastries as well. Fast, casual and friendly vibes. A spot for tourists and locals alike. Highly recommend!

Great little spot for coffee. Lots of food items to choose from, we got the vegan dream bar, it was delicious and loaded with quinoa and nuts and dates, blt, and a couple of lattes

Overpriced and not good. $11, full cup of crashed ice with premade espresso, caramel and almond milk. Look somewhere else

They do not care about Coustmer satisfaction. Baked goods and Breakfast Burritos are very dry, and Manager is rude and unprofessional.

His specialty of smoked chicken has just the right amount of spice for me. My wife's lobster roll was freshly made from scratch and perfectly seasoned. Don't go if you are in a hurry. Everything is made fresh to order and may take a little time. But it will be brought to your table after a generous serving of chili that can compete with any on the main land. While you wait, enjoy a Painkiller. This is another specialty that can now be bought by the gallon and brought home. The location is right off of the main road, but you wouldn't necessarily notice except when a truck drives by. His friendly dogs will keep you company and are always protecting you from local wildlife. Coco Jim's is a highly recommended experience for anyone visiting St. John. We plan one more visit before our vacation has ended.

He offered to take a photo of us together & even gave us a free t-shirt. I also appreciate his honesty - He told us that the smoked chicken entree was good enough for two. It was, indeed, good enough for two! That saved us some money & from creating unnecessary food waste. I would recommend skipping some of the other tourist traps on the island & heading straight for Coco Jim's for lunch instead. Tell him Rachel from Providence sent you!

Three of us were shopping mid-morning and asked each vendor for a good place for breakfast. All recommended a well-known place. Unfortunately, we'd eaten there previously on this trip and wanted something different and better. The nice lady at Xxxxx recommended Calypso. She was sooo excited describing their delicious crepes. Well we found our way to Diamond Dire t and run to Calypso. I had a veggie omelette with whole wheat toast. The veggies were fresh and the omelette quite tasty. My brother (a carnivore) had some scrambled eggs with bacon on the side. When the plate arrived, the aroma of the perfectly cooked bacon brought an approving smile to everyone's face. My nephew had an "Indian" omelette (with ham and veggies). Quite delicious. He also had a freshly made fruit smoothy. I sampled 2 of the coffees, and liked them both. I settled for the strong one with a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream. Scrumptious!! The hostess and the chef were so sweet, attentive and friendly. Made us feel like "regulars". I will definitely be returning to Calypso on my next trip to St. Thomas! "D & M" at Calypso: Thank you for a "delicious and nutritious" breakfast. But more so for a real, personal, warm experience.

You walk through a jewelry store to get to a small restaurant that combines Virgin Islands Ice Cream shop with Calypso Cafe. Most of the seats were taken, and all we saw was a line to place your order at the front. My husband waited in line while I found a table that hadn't been cleaned yet. It was very busy there. He ordered us 2 brownies and 2 bottles of water for $16. The lady at the counter gave herself a tip by taking $3 of the change and giving him back $1. He was going to give her all the change ($4) back, but after that incident he was floored. To add insult to injury, she didn't give us what we paid for. She proceeded to help the next person in line for an ice cream shake order. We waited and waited and no one acknowledged us after trying to flag someone down. We finally got the attention of a different lady who was helping people who were seated in the back. I think her name is Cameron. She didn't fully understand our frustration, and we had to explain that we didn't get the items that we had already paid for. She made it all right, and even offered to warm up the brownies. We just didn't feel like waiting longer for it. I'm giving benefit of the doubt here since maybe we just didn't understand the ordering system. Maybe there's a service charge that we didn't know about. How could we? We didn't even get a receipt. Perhaps there's another line for Calypso Cafe? I don't know. Honestly, the lady at the counter should have informed Cameron before proceeding on to the next customer. It only takes 2 seconds. I mean, really! Will we go back? Absolutely not! We'll go somewhere else the next time we're in Charlotte Amalie. It wasn't worth the long wait for 2 bakery items and water.

The menu is big. It's local. They sell out as the night goes on. All of the servers do not speak English really well. But, honestly, if you have a question that can't be answered, there's someone around you can talk to. We ordered sautéed fish and the stewed chicken. Each entree comes with three sides - my favorites were the plantains, red beans, and Cole slaw. Rice was also good. The cook was also grilling pork that smelled AMAZING and when I asked my server if I could have whatever he was making, she literally snuck me over a side plate of smoked and grilled pork. So freaking good. This is not your typical Cruz bay restaurant. This is local. It's delicious. There is live music. Appreciate what you are getting. If you want cute fish tacos, this place isn't for you. We had a cocktail at the Windmill Bar during sunset and then popped over here (practically next door), to order some food. Tables are picnic style tables. All outside. Service is great but food is cooked to order so it might be slow. Enjoy it! We had multiple beers and a couple mamawana shots and two entrees and our total was about $75. Definitely our least expensive meal on St. John ever.
