The ladies working here are absolute gems and life savers! We have been turned away by multiple groomers for a nail trim. My dog is not aggressive but definitely tries to fight and wiggle away from the nail clippers. These ladies got the job done and I cannot thank them enough!!!! read more

At least 10 years now I've been going to the new owners foe at least 3 years and I will tell you it's the only place I trust to do my dogs nails. I met the most friendly, and helpful staff who completely understood what I was looking for. I made an appt over the phone and on her appointment day, I told the girls it's been months since shes had a cut, and told them how she has a sensitive tummy/cage shy, etc. I was called after 2 hours and told she was ready for pick up. Very happy with our first experience with Bark Avenue today ! My shitzu has gone way to long this time in between haircuts. I honestly figured they would just shave her body and ears. As a hairstylist myself I know that isn't always necessary but it is definitely easier. And with past experiences having shitzus 15 years that's the typical route at the groomers. Much to my surprise/ delight they not only made her look beautiful, but didn't cut her coat down to the skin, and didn't shave her ears. That lets me know they have some skilled groomers that actually care about the quality of there work and are not just there to turn clients (our pets), and make money as quickly as possible. I've had to take him to the ER to get stitches. I called the manager/owner Brenda and John to express my frustration. Instead of explaining how and why the groomer cut my pet, the owner kept telling me that I should be HAPPY that they didn't charge me for the groom. The owner argued with me on the phone and was very disrespectful. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had an awful experience with Bark Avenue. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the dog owner get to pick and choose what's best for their animals within reason? Telling the groomer that I didn't want to have the anal gland extractions done on my 2 schnauzers wasn't a question... it was a statement. He acted like I was a bad dog mom, saying it was for their health and that's its just part of their procedure. I reiterated I didn't want it done to them. Reluctantly, he accepted my wishes... I can only hope. Then, the worst part came... getting a text that my dogs were ready to be picked up, but oh, btw, we found some fleas on them so we administered Capstar pills and gave them a flea bath, so that'll be extra $. Not, hey, hi, I'm contacting you to let you know we found some fleas on your dogs. You'll either need to come get them right away so they don't infect other dogs or do you give us permission to poison your dogs inside and out and charge you extra for it? WOW! I was flabbergasted. Not only did I have to take their word for it that my dogs had fleas, but I had no choice to pay for the "treatment" since it was already done. So, no informed consent... just do what you'd like to my dogs without any permission from me. I consider these treatments to be medical. What if my dogs were allergic to this, or what if I simply choose to treat my dogs in a holistic manner using natural remedies? They are not vets... they are groomers. What authority gives them the right to administer such things without consent? They need to check out the animal when they get dropped off with the owner near by. If both agree they have fleas, then the business has the obligation to tell them they'll be giving the animals flea treatments, and the animal owner can decide if they want to proceed or take their animal back home or elsewhere... period! read more

Under no circumstances should anyone use this groomer. Even if you are needing a quick groom for your dog because everywhere else is closed because of social distancing. Wait and go somewhere else! My labradoodle not for a lack of not trying to prevent it was matted how matted I didn't know. He is usually on schedule once a month. We were at 2.5 months and Bark Avenue had reopened. I heard good things. I don't know where the good reviews come from. "He looks like a wiremanier someone told me". Today, he was groomed yesterday, he is licking his poor belly so much I put him in the comfy cone. He is whining now. He never whines! I have given him all the medicine for itching and anxiety I can. They hurt him! I asked the groomer at the time of drop off I understood he was matted and she said "it will be one size down what u want because of matting. I agreed to that. I pick him up and find out they took 2 guide lengths shorter and never made an attempt to call me or warn me! ANY of the other groomer I have used have called me before. She didn't even mention the shortness of the cut at pick up only that "we plucked all he would let us from his ears. He has a yeast infection." I spoke with the owner he said "It's literally two blades shorter [than what I requested] which is like a quarter of an inch. I'm sorry we didn't call you but did the best we could with what we had to work with. I would highly suggest getting on a regular grooming schedule if you want him longer as we can only go under the matts. So would get on regular rotation with your next groomer. Hope you have a great weekend and stay safe from this craziness." Thank you for making my decision to write the review so easy! I hope someone reads this and decides not to use your co so another dog doesn't get hurt. Response to owner: As I said before in my review this was the FIRST time I have used your CAMPUS grooming establishment. I usually go elsewhere for good reason clearly! I get Kendi groomed monthly like clock work usually. HE IS on a monthly schedule! To say I haven't been seen by your establishment in over 7 months. Leads the reader to believe I don't take care of my dog. HOW dare you, sir! THE ONLY reason Kendi HAD NOT been groomed in 2.5 months was because of the stay in place order as you know! I did use your mobile service once and was not happy (7 months ago). I was VERY much mistaken that on campus would be ANY different. You led me to believe you could try to make it up to me when we spoke making this appointment. Lesson learn: Don't give a groomer, who didn't do a good job first time, a second chance. Your lesson: Call the owner with any change in the grooming cut. Consider CALLING the owner!! It's better to "bother" the customer letting them know what had to be done! CALL THE OWNER! I love this place! First, my poodle's cut looks great. He's got a uniquely short tail, and they worked out a way to make it look like the cutest puffball! We also discussed other grooming styles for the future. Probably more importantly, it was clear they they took great care of my baby! He was happy and clearly was given water and opportunities to play. The Bark Avenue staff is always super friendly and accommodating with us, which I appreciate even more each time I go in. My dog is now a crotchety old schnauzer that does not like going in for a hair cut. He goes in a shivering- momma-wanting mess and comes out a snappy dapper dog with a whole new attitude. Bright eyed, stubby tailed, hot-stuff-and-he-knows-it kind of mood change. That always tells me they took great care of him, which is great because as he ages his list of trouble spots and ailments gets longer, so I know he's not the easiest dog to groom. I mean - he won't even let me me near him with a brush so he can't be that easy of a dog to deal with. The fact that he comes out happy and playful and almost puppy like afterwards is a great bonus. And as always, he gets a fashionable hankie tied to his neck when he's done. I'm not super picky about the cut as long as it meets a certain length - but I think he looks handsome after each cut and so does he, so that's all that matters. read more

We had two Goldens who we'd taken to Grooms by Leah since we moved here to Cedar Park. Max and Olivia were always both done in 4 hours, prior to that they'd gone to Petsmart until their overcharging policies drove us away- even so, they were done in 4 hours. We've now gone to Bark Avenue twice with our new pup Bailey, and both times it's been a grueling 9 hour day for her. When I called to ask status, I asked how long she'd been in a cage. "45 minutes" was the response. I find that quite hard to believe, considering our history with groomers. To top that off I saw, in the car, that her nose is suspiciously swollen, for some reason- and the "Trim and Tidy" cut only did the belly area without any attention to the genitals and anus. I will not subject my pup to their care again. read more

We just moved to the area and our 6 year old havapoo has always been friendly and comfortable with his puppy "spa" days. When I picked him up this afternoon from his hair cut, I was disturbed to see he had little cuts all over his tummy, a haircut that was a bit of a mess, and covered in dog fur (I arrived home with fur all over my clothes). I'm also sad to say that his tail was tucked under the whole ride home- usually is super excited and happy. Even though we've had a few issues with them in the past related to the grooming quality itself we've always wanted to continue bringing our cocker here as it's close to home, she's familiar with the salon and we like supporting local business. However, the time has come to move on and take our business elsewhere as we've tried for weeks on end to get ahold of them. We've left messages, called countless times to try and get confirmation of our pups appt. No one seems to care to return our calls and communicate about grooming?! It seems like Bark Avenue is just different since the change in ownership & not in a positive way. I get being short staffed, (assuming that's what the problem is?) but it should be someone's priority to return customer calls and communicate! I have been using this groomer for a long time even after being warned from others about their pets being injured. Well now this time it was my dog. I understand sometimes it can't be helped, but twice during same grooming appointment?! After stating I was unhappy and would not be returning, the owner yelled at me to "TAKE YOUR DOGS AND GET OUT"!
