I have been coming here for several years. All the staff are very nice and helpful. I love the way they structure their scheduling so there is no 2/3 week wait time like majority of the other groomers. They've helped me in emergancy times without hesitation. There also have been times where we need an early pick up and they are happy to accommodate. I've had dogs since my early years as a teen, with my fair share of experiences. **** DO NOT GO HERE- BARKK AVENUE in Cedar Patk**** This is taking me a lot to write. Please forgive me ahead for my long story. Do not ever go to place it is so very unprofessional. I know I can't possibly be the first! This is my second time here. First time was not the best, but I decided to try again. It takes a lot for me to want to take the time and write a review and after hours of consideration and talking to others about my experience I needed too. First off, I took my dogs here and they told me to drop them off at 7:30am which I did. I called numerous times to see if they were almost ready, but my calls only went to vm. So, I show up a little before 4pm and the owner tells with a rude demeanor it's Christmas week everyone dropped off their dogs not just me. So, I offered nicely to take them home as they had been there all day just sitting. They assured me both were next. So about 6:15 I try calling again no answer, finally I show up there and finally someone answers they proceed to tell me that they are still not ready and that my bigger dog (Labradoodle) was just now getting started on. and the smaller dog whose less than 13Ibs (maltipoo) had a bath and blow dry and I can take the dogs home, but I need to pay for the services they had been done which I'm fine with. I was shocked they said I owed $195 I also gave them a tip. I asked why it was so high as they just had a bath and a blow dry and the They told me the bigger dog had a trim. Which was a lie, when I got there, he had just got on the table. I paid but, I was still feeling like I was over charged and upset of how unprofessional and rude the owner Brandi was. I went home and looked at my bank statement and noticed I had been charged exactly almost the same from the previous month and that was 2 full grooms and so I called her, and she tried telling me that the first time I wasn't charged enough because my dogs were so matted which was an absolute lie and that it took 2 girls to de matte them. My dogs only had baths and I can't even still see my doodles eyes. His head never got touch and it saddens me that she as an owner can think this was ok to do to a customer who only at this point wanted to take her pet's home. I told her I knew what she was doing she was trying to justify making me pay full grooming price and I had originally talk to Megan beforehand both times and I always brush my dogs out before taking them to groomers etc and her own groomer Megan who worked on them even commented and complemented me on how I did a good job brushing them out. (Mind you I have never had a complaint about matting, and they been getting groomed for years.) And another thing she tried saying I should be understanding because last time they stayed late for me which they themselves booked me at 5:30pm (who does that) and told me it would be 1.5 for both which seemed way to early, but it was over 4 hrs. Like that's my fault. I was even more understanding then but for the owner to over book not just me but plenty of other people and thinks it's okay for dogs to sit in a crate that long is not okay and to expect the owners not to question the time is crazy to me. She was so rude, and she knowingly ripped me off over charging almost $200 me for baths and blow dry is crazy. She tried to say my big dog got a trim which he did not. I can't even see his eyes and both dogs look exactly the same. They will book you in knowing they shouldn't but blame you when you complain about how long it is taking. To the owner No matter what you try and say you know what you did was wrong, and I know I'm not the first one you did this to. read more

Scheduled a drop off time by 9am hoping my dog would be done by noon. When I hadn't heard anything by 3:30 pm I called. They told me they were busy and they hadn't started cutting yet because they had another dog with diabetes that took priority, and they hope to be done in two to three hours. My jaw hit the floor. They should have handled the whole situation differently. Why have scheduling options if those aren't met with self compliance? Why not call after two hours and apologize, and offer to reschedule? Why keep my dog all day long?! read more

Bentley is usually traumatized after our previous groomer so we decided to try a new one. Crystal came to pick up Bentley with a warm smile and she made sure he was comfortable. After he returned, his tail was wagging and he looked happier than ever. After our second experience with Bark Avenue, I feel confident in saying this is not a trustworthy place to take your dog. In our last and final visit, our dog received several cuts from the clippers and our agreed upon instructions for our visit were not followed. During our first visit, we were told our dog had a hard time in the crate. It was weird because he'd been going to a different groomer in Austin with zero issues. So for our second visit, the staff agreed that they would not crate him, but instead just complete his haircut right away and call me to pick him up. That did not happen. Around 1:30pm, I became very nervous because I had not heard from them so I called, only for my call to go straight to voicemail. I called several more times and again no answer. Eventually I just went up there to see what was going on. The staff told me that my dog wasn't letting them blow dry him, which I thought was very odd because he has visited the groomers many times before with no issue. So he had been sitting in a crate for, who knows how long, air drying. When they brought him out to me he was covered in short little fur because they hadn't even blown off the newly cut hair. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the cuts. The rest of the day and night, my dog acted like he was traumatized, and rightfully so. I wish I had seen some of the other reviews stating similar issues. I would have never left my dog with them. read more

Holly, our 16yr old Coton de Tulear, requires a special touch because she is very nervous and can be difficult to groom. We brought our big Irish wolfhound mix dog in today for his very first real haircut. The folks here went out of their way to set a special appointment time for us so that it would be quiet and less intimidating for our dog. In all they spent over an hour and a half grooming and bathing our dog. It was the best experience we could've hoped for! If you bring food or things for dogs impacted by the Houston flooding they will trim your dogs nails for free. This is pretty much the gold standard for great service for pet grooming!! Update **4/29/2018 Brought our Irish Wolfhound for complete grooming. He is still nervous when we get there, but by the time he is done, he is super happy.
