This place is a super cool and chill place to come. Either with family or on a date. Came with my sister and my daughters. Food is absolutely amazing!! I can't believe I have never been here. Everything was sensational. This was my first time here although my sister frequents the place. Our server Steven was a genuinely nice and helpful guy. After telling him I was a first timer, he went through his favorites in the menu and I pretty much ordered what he recommended. Appetizers: we got the wontons and Asian Wings. Both were sensational but the Wontons were my fav. I could have ordered a few of these as my meal. Entrees: I ordered the guac burger, my sister got the blue cheese burger, one daughter got the spinach lasagne while the other got the sliders. Huge portions. All came with fries and I asked for waffle fries. Dessert: we ordered carroty and chocolate cakes to go. Got home and went into a food coma on the first bite. My daughters killed the cake. Service was amazing. Our waiter and his peers went out if there way to accommodate us. The food was pretty good. My favorite thing to order here is the pesto chicken salad with artichoke hearts sandwich. The chipotle black bean burger is also delicious and incredibly filling and comes with fries. We also got the chicken burrito which comes with two whole burritos so definitely a huge portion for the price but I wouldn't recommend it because it tasted pretty bland. We also got the doggie ice cream which our dog liked eating. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip with chips which was good. I love that this place has outdoor seating and is very dog friendly. We unfortunately had to wait about 45 minutes for them to bring our food which we weren't too happy about which is the reason for my 3 star review. However, overall is a nice place to go if you have a dog and don't go during busy hours. I also recommend coming during happy hour (4-7 pm) for some great food deals. read more

Barnaby's is a Houston institution. I have been to several locations and they are very consistent, very good. Did breakfast today at the one I the heights. I have javers juevos, kids has pancakes and French toast and wide had some heathy plate thing that was actually good. Everyone was very pleased and stuffed! What can I say. I like the Barnaby's chain a lot for some delicious casual dining. I love the fun funky decor and friendly servers. Of course the doggie mascot is well represented. Everything on the menu I have had has been tasty. There's a variety of sandwiches, burgers, salads, and various other entrees including a robust list of chicken dishes. I always upgrade my fries to the waffle fondue fries when I order one of their juicy burgers. The bleu cheese crumbled and bacon are a winning combination though definitely not a part of the diet plan! Portions here are ginormous so you can get away with sharing. Barnaby's is such a trendy and fun cafe. You can bring your dogs and sit outside and on Tuesday's they have $2 beer. The burgers here are top notch! I had the blue cheese and bacon burger and I have to say it was one of the best I have ever had. The flavor and all the elements of the burger went so well together. And they cooked it perfectly. The table also ordered the Asian wings!! They a re sweet with a little kick and served atop cabbage and cucumber that are pickled in a sweet and vinegary type marinade, it was sooo delicious!! Lastly, we had the spinach and artichoke dip, that was so very smooth and creamy, it could definitely be seasoned a little better, it seemed like there was no seasoning at all but you can definitely doctor it up with salt and pepper at the table. It's paired perfectly with the honey mustard dressing and it has never been anything short of perfection. Their sweet potato fries are delicious but never crispy so I take them home and put them in the air fryer. Their rainbow cake is really tasty but seems to always be so cold, almost like it's been in the freezer, so let it thaw out for awhile or take it home to eat later. read more

We used to love this Baranby's. Today we ordered our usual Green Eggs and we have always substituted the potatoes for fruit and I substitute the toast for extra cheese. The fact that they didn't charge for these substitutions made this place our regular Saturday choice. Today, I placed the same order. Wasn't told anything on the phone when I made it, but when my husband went to get it he was charged $2 for each fruit cup and $1 for extra cheese. When my husband told him we have never been charged, he said "things change." If "things change" you need to tell customers that you'll be charging them for substitutions. His smug attitude made us go from regulars to people who vow not to go back. Sad. read more

I made it here for the #DiningOutForLife charity event. I came from an event at Marq*E Center before its closing time. My friend Jeffery introduced Barnaby's Cafe to me few weeks ago. He had a grilled chicken salad at the one on Montrose. After watching him enjoying that salad, I want one. I wasn't familiar with the salad choices, but I just want the grilled chicken on top. The waiter explained how the salad works; smaller one is $2 cheaper. I've seen the regular sized one. So, give me a Lebanese Chicken Fattoush. He read the ingredients and they all sound good to my tummy. I was so amazed with the warm pita chips with flavorful dressing. Oh, it was a Caesar based salad on steroid. I finished the whole plate and I wanted more. Yeah, I regret I should had a regular sized one. The difference of 2 sizes is an inch below the rim and overfilled the bowl. The wait staff was so friendly, young and energetic. They kept coming to check on me. Parking was okay. I found a weird spot, next to 2 double parked cars. Traffic coming here was light at night. I usually get the salmon with the quinoa and whatever vegetable I'm feeling that day. The salads are large, so if you order the bigger one, make sure you are hungry. I have been coming here for years and always good. Tonight the Coronada Beef was raw after asking for med well. Waiter brought it back to be cooked. Came back raw again. I was told the grill was not working properly and that was the problem and not the cook's problem. French fries were also cold but replaced with hot. The waiter was excellent and put a piece of cake in out to go bag What was strange was a woman took 2 handfuls of napkins with her to go order. The cashier said something and they bittered back and forth for 15 minutes. If your grill is not working tell people you cannot prepare certain foods. I feel like you can never go wrong with Barnaby's. I've been coming here for years and every time I'm with friends and we're stumped on where to go, Barnaby's is one of the few that pops into mind. It's safe to say it's on my top 5. I love that there's always something for everyone and I appreciate the extensive yet simple menu. Nothing is ever too greasy and I never leave disappointed. Few of my favorites (based on regular menu, not breakfast) - Mediterranean Chicken salad (this is HUGE. There weren't a lot of dogs outside with us that day, but there were definitely a few. I enjoyed the food, as well. I ordered the steak and eggs; my steak medium rare.
