Paid $955.00 for contacts I ordered in 9/22. To date I don't have the contacts. No one ever called me back. No one told me that if the contacts didn't fit that they'd charge me for shipping and handling for each pair they had to return that didn't fit. I would have given up and gone to glasses. Nor did they tell me that I would be charged for the fitting of soft contacts that I was skeptical about. I did inadvertently miss 2 appointments that I would expect to be charged for. However, I had to fight to get a $415.00 credit, it should have been more, because I never came away with any contacts. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Would be one star but the nurse and reception were super nice. I don't recommend going here if you're a person like me. I still have yet what the sales person meant by that. I was dissatisfied with there small inventory on glasses as they lacked colorful frames and the sales person had the audacity to say " ... this company has colorful glasses for people like you" now what did he mean by that? Is it because I'm brown or queer? Either way didn't like that comment at all especially during pride month, come on. And why are you trying to sell glasses while my eyes are being dilated!? They were never able to get my RX correct. After three attempts, I finally gave up. I won't be going back.

(I posted this review to another site. I noted that no other review has anything but 5 stars, so I speculate this will soon be deleted from there. To put things into proper context, our family went to see Dr. Stasik for 10+ years and were very happy; this experience is from winter 2018-19, long-after Dr. Stasik left the clinic). I wound up with another episode of CSR, fluid build-up behind one of the retina which distorts vision and changes optical correction. They got me in right away, ran me through the paces, told me what I already knew, took my money and told me to come back in 2 weeks. And then again another 2 weeks. Given the situation this seemed appropriate. After the 3rd appointment, they re-confirmed everything and told me "there was nothing else that could be done" about my condition. They suggested it was time for a new prescription, including a shift to progressives. Without putting enough thought in it, I was fitted in a new expensive frame which doesn't fit my head, and they cut progressives to correct for all of the distortion. When I received the progressives, they didn't work for anything, and no it wasn't that they needed some getting used-to, they were just plain wrong. I had to beg to go back to single vision lenses. They opted to do so, but declined the opportunity to get a new refraction setting before doing so. So the shift back to single vision lenses were still too far off to put them to any use. The clinic always bills me in full, then processes the claim. In most cases, insurance will correct the rate from their ask to the fair cost. The difference should be returned to me. Instead it is kept in an account at the clinic (for years, possibly) and applied at the next visit. I was in transition between two insurance companies. After the claim was processed and paid (to them, even though I paid for it out of pocket), I saw them re-submit the claim to my previous insurance provider. I couldn't tell the motivation here. What I do know is they were reimbursed by my insurance company for the visit, even though I had already paid for it out of my own pocket. Retrofitting back down from progressives to single-vision should have resulted in a reduction of cost. I asked about this, they didn't answer that (nor did they send me the difference). The frames don't fit on my head anyway, and I doubt my skull is going to shrink anytime soon. I did some reading and spoke with a trusted friend (a retired opthamologist), who reminded me that there ARE doctors who can help with CSR, and suggested I go see one. I made an appointment with the right specialist, and patiently waited long-enough to watch the condition correct itself. The distortion is gone (thankfully), and the optical correction is nearly back to where it was when this all started. It was simply not the right time for a new prescription, given the condition I was experiencing. Getting fitted for lenses and a new prescription was hasty and scattered. The specialist tried to juggle about 3 things at once, answering questions from others mid-sentence while we are speaking. This isn't the way to do business. I found another clinic and had another appointment. They were thorough, and after obtaining a new prescription for single vision lenses, they set me up on the spot with a sample pair so I could see how it would work for close-in work. Perfect. Ironically the prescription was so simple that I could almost purchase it over the counter at the drug store. All the flags and markings that forced me to purchase lenses through the previous clinic were gone. Taking my problem to this clinic cost me about $1K more than it should have, as demonstrated by the prognosis and resulting follow-up from the Retina center and new ophthalmologist. The frames and lenses I purchased (about $500) are of no use to me. If you don't mind pre-paying and getting fitted with lenses that don't work in frames that don't fit, maybe this is the right place for you. For me, we will transition our family to another clinic and continue to watch my condition through the specialist. There IS something more that can be done (there ARE eye surgeons!) read more

We originally came here because Dr Stasik had a specialty in keratoconus, which one person in our family has. Since he left, I'm unsure if there's still a compelling reason to go. Dr Sabahi seems to know what she is doing, but she does not listen AT ALL. I went in for a checkup because of temporary vision blurriness, and she kept insisting that it was eye fatigue that would be corrected by wearing reading glasses - even though I kept repeating that my routine hadn't changed at all and asking why it would have been a temporary thing, it was like she just wouldn't acknowledge the question. In addition, I feel like the staff are quite pushy about selling their glasses, and their prices are insane. We got a quote on a pair for my daughter - who has only mild myopia - for $450; then went to Warby Parker and got two pairs for half that price. Bottom line: they're pretty pricey for a standard optometry service, and I'm unclear that there is any unique specialist knowledge here anymore. read more

This place is AWESOME! The employees go through great feats to ensure you are getting the best care for your eyes. The doctor was very interactive and engaging with me about the many options for my eyes. The staff is super friendly and extremely professional in all they do. I will not go to another eye doctor from here on out except Dr. Stasik. I can't express how awesome they are until you have gone there for an appointment and met the staff and the doctor. They WILL take care of you and ensure your experience is a good one. Even if their frames and such are expensive (I didn't buy glasses, because I have Keratoconus, which by the way the Doctor has a lot of experience and specialized in.); this is my place for my eye care. I recommend Dr. Stasik and his staff for your eye care. You won't regret it! If you want a place that actually cares about YOU, this is the place. Dr. Stasik is not a cookie cutting doctor like most of today's doctors. He and his office do not treat you like an in-and-out burger place. Beaverton Optometric Group has seen some major changes in the past few years, but I believe them to be for the better. I am very pleased with the quality of service, friendliness of the people and the selection of glasses and contacts. Paul Stasik took over the aging practice a few years ago and recently moved it to a brand new office along Barnes Rd, just West of Cedar Hills. The business has now expanded to a second practitioner. The new location has more space, more product selection and more technology designed to catch problems in their early stages. I was particularly impressed with the laser scanner that showed me my eyes down to the microscopic level. That might help me avoid some of the nasty eye problems my family history says I might get one day. Dr. Stasik comes off as reserved, but he is personable and seems to care about his patients. His wife, Marla, is exuberant and she and the rest of the staff are friendly and very helpful with tests, glasses selection, paperwork, etc. I plan on being a patient here for years to come. read more

Came in for an eye exam and left with glasses. [+] This was the second time I have had an eye exam and I did not know what to expect. I was greeted with two friendly girls that were manning the desk. I had given these girls such a hard time previously because I was constantly changing the time and day of my appointment. Thanks Abby for putting up with me. -The staff was VERY accommodating and worked around MY schedule. [+] The ambience of the store was relaxing and small. [+] When I was called to see the doctor, I was taken into a room for quick testing. The machines they used were modern and I did not feel frightened at all. -The staff was very patient towards me. [+] Dr Schmitt, who conducted my exam, seemed very knowledgeable and kind. He used just the right words to tell me that I was getting old. I left the place feeling more distinguished than when I came in (this is a good thing). Dr Schmitt took the time to explain to me why my eyes were the way they were. and we discussed ways on how I can take better care of myself. [+] After the end of the exam, I was walked to the main room and was offered a large selection of glasses. the gentleman who was helping me pick, was very helpful because I have never worn any glasses in my life. He told me what looked good and what looked like crap on my face. The glasses were decently priced, from what I know of and were available to me after 2 weeks. [+] When I came back to pick up my glasses, Jackie was kind enough to let me in after business hours. little did she know I took time off to get my glasses and it was worthwhile being able to get them that day even though i was running very late. i knew the shopped closed at 1:30 pm but was rushing to make it in. I have been wearing glasses and/or contacts since I was 4 years old, and my new patient eye exam was by far the best and most thorough eye exam I have ever had. Beware of surprise fees while coming in with insurance because of "things being billed a certain way"! That was the answer I got when asked if the scans / pics were a part of the routine eye exam covered 100% by my insurance. "Well normally yes, but the doctor decided to put a separate code for it." WTF? Ate up all of my contact lenses / glasses benefits ($130) in the process and had to pay a $40 copay on top for something which is usually a part of the routine exam just because the doctor decided to put a different billing code for it. read more

I loved Dr. Stasik and his crew. EVERYTHING was managed very well. Since he sold his practice, things have not been so smooth. The doctor that has seen me and the people who room me are nice BUT the money and insurance handling for 2020 and 2021 so far is poor quality. Watch your pockets and make sure you aren't being ripped off. Double check with your insurance first to make sure the specific Doctor at the specific location is in-network because the staff will not tell you this information, they will just bill you an astronomical amount and never return your call. read more

I ended up not purchasing glasses here because they seemed too expensive and I did not like the styles. But I went other places and didn't like the styles there either. Beaverton Vision World had decent glasses for very low prices. Good service. But I think I would still try the eye exam at Barnes (even though the doctor I used is no longer there). read more

I've required corrective lenses for 15 years and this was hands down the most pleasant experience I have had with an optometrist. From scheduling my appointment, having pre-appointment correspondence, arriving, seeing the assistant Megan, then finally seeing Dr. Stasik, it was pleasant the entire time. The testing was thorough, explanation was extensive, and it was very clear that they cared about my vision and overall health. To elaborate on the extensive testing - they had several machines that I have never even seen in my years visiting optometrists. They also went above and beyond with the vision tests (not just "read these letters on the back wall" then move on). They also talked me through basically every single thing they were doing and addressed my concerns without a hitch. Megan and Dr. Stasik were very knowledgeable and made me feel extremely comfortable. I really appreciated the fact that I didn't feel like I was getting pushed out the door. The appointment lasted quite a while (I think the fact that I am a new patient, their thorough testing, and my many questions all contributed to that). My overall experience was a very positive one. Simply disappointing. First the very first time I visited this clinic I had good service, but different Doctor. Back in 2019, my insurance covered full and I had no co pay at all. This year I went in for my new set of contacts nothing was different, same test and everything I got done the first time. This time I payed over 400$ out of pocket.so I called my insurance made sure I had payed what I needed to pay in my part but since my eye condition is considered medically necessary , my insurance cover 100% no copay. Tried asking for refund, where I was told I had to pay that because I had some kind of deductible, witch isn't true because my type of eye condition. Even more obvious about this situation of having no co pay was when a close family member went to a different clinic, has the same exact insurance and condition and had 0$ Co pay.That's that now I had called too order the rest of my one year supply of contacts and was told They would ordered them. This was back in September, yes I was told it would take a few weeks due to the epidemic. I called back a month later to check in the order, and was told they the Lady that does the orders wasn't in if they could give me a call back when she was In. I had no problem with that. Never got a call back ! So I called again a week later, was told if they could return the call back too me because they needed to check the exact status of my order, and AGAIN NO CALL BACK. I Called the last and third time was told the same thing but this time I got a call back, and said it would take another month to get my stuff. What means that my supplies weren't order till the third time I called.. I'm just waiting for the rest of my supplies and I'm never coming back too this place and won't be recommending it either. Really felt that I wasn't treated with disrespect in the sense that I didn't receive a call back . And felt that I was taken advantage with my insurance because not only did the max my limit they made me pay money that at the end of the day I wasn't supposed to pay. I recently had the pleasure of using Barnes Professional Eye Care and Dr. Stasik for a long overdue update to my contact lenses and backup glasses. I found Dr. Stasik and the entire staff to be a joy to work with. He is clearly an expert in his field, and is passionate about doing the best possible job. I am highly nearsighted (-11.5) but have always been able to correct to 20/15 with contact lenses, so I have very high expectations for what can be achieved. Because of this I consider myself difficult to please when it comes to vision correction. Dr. Stasik was very patient, adjusting the refraction and astigmatism corrections until they were just right. The process took a while but the end result was 20/15 vision in both eyes. I couldn't have asked for more, and would highly recommend Dr Stasik and Barnes Professional Eye Care. read more

After getting my eyes checked at a well known chain, I had reason to question the accuracy of that Rx. I went to Mark Schmidt for a.2nd opinion. He was very thorough, professional,and explained well. The Rx from the chain was all wrong and he gave me a new prescription that allows me to see so much clearer! I highly recommend him and also had a great experience picking out glasses and found the staff to be very helpful with great tips for picking out glasses. Jennifer, the Director at the front office especially is presumptuous and has a condescending unprofessional attitude.
