This wasn't just us, several people in our class had the same issue, and they had to call the owner to sort everything out before we could start. They also mentioned that we could bring our own drinks, which sounded great, but I wouldn't recommend it for the wheel-throwing class. We didn't open our wine as no cups were provided but there was also no time during the class to drink it. That said, our instructor, Callum, was amazing! Truly hands-on, patient, and made sure everyone left with a piece they were proud of, whether they chose to keep it or not. One thing to note: I wouldn't recommend this specific class for out-of-towners. If you want to keep your piece, the process takes about a month. First firing, then returning to paint, then a second firing. You also pay separately for any pieces you choose to keep and paint. Our class was $35 per person, and it's $20 per piece for firing if you plan to come back and paint it. It's a commitment, but also two fun experiences if you're local or don't mind returning. Overall, I'm taking off one star due to our specific experience with their wheel throwing activity, but I still think the concept of this place is great, and I look forward to coming back to paint my piece as well as to try a different activity!

We were in town for my brother's ASU graduation, which happened to fall on Mother's Day weekend. I was searching for Mother's Day activities that didn't involve food (so much of the graduation festivities were ALL about food), and I came across Light + Bark. I decided to book a candle pouring reservation for our group of seven, and was grateful they still had availability on such a busy weekend. I've done candle pouring before, and it's been more of a private experience, where we had the space to ourselves. Light + Bark has a bit different of a layout ... the candle pouring takes place right in the middle of the shop, and felt a bit crowded at times for a larger group like ours. Even still, the instructors made us feel welcome, and encouraged us as we selected our scents! They even had free mimosas for Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful touch to make moms feel special. The scent selection is expansive, and we especially loved the desert-themed collection. We felt the pricing was fair for the experience as well ... it's $38 for a small vessel, $48 for a medium vessel, and $58 for a large vessel. We ended up getting really into the scent mixing process, and had a great time smelling everyone's final products! The candles take two hours to set, and then you can pick them up at your convenience during regular shop hours. I'd definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique way to celebrate, and you could absolutely pair your experience with brunch reservations elsewhere in Old Town.

You get to choose your color from a list and note it when you register on their website. I also put in the notes on my registration the names of my friends so that we could sit together. The workshop was at 6pm on a Friday and lasted about two hours. There was my group of three and three others, plus the owner/instructor Lauren. Her instructions were easy to follow, and she would jump in if we needed help. I made a few errors, and she was able to fix them for me. I ended up making my loops too loose on the outside and too tight on the inside, so my blanket came out a bit small. But I think it was decent for my first attempt. It's so soft. I keep it on my couch to use as a lap blanket. We all had a great time and would definitely come back to try other workshops. My coworker had tried one of the resin workshops and really liked it too.
