    Tomato soup

I popped into Barnwood to grab a bite while my best friend was walking around the mall with her babies. I didn't expect it to be so good! But it was delicious! I grabbed a quick appetizer and tomato soup. The portions were actually pretty large. I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. The bartender was very attentive and very nice. The ambiance was pretty cool. Huge windows overlooking all the people having a great time at the water park.

I'm not a reviewer typically but that Roasted Chicken crispy skin, charred garlic green beans, buttery mashed potatoes, thyme chicken glaze was Amazing! Price is slightly more here for the food options but it's the only sit down served food in the resort not fast food, pizza or tacos! The steak frites were also delicious but the steak was a little chewier and more medium rare than medium but it paired nicely with french fries and aioli. My daughter's mini corn dogs served not from a bag and freshly battered to perfection. Recommend this place if you want a treat night with a beer or glass of wine each to expect 100 dollars per couple. Carlito N served us and was very attentive. Side note: This place is definitely bettering their image as different staff members asked us multiple times if we needed anything and if our food was cooked to our likings.

Convenient if staying at Great Wolf Lodge but not worth the price. Of course all restaurants here are a little over priced. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was ok. Best thing was the soft pretzel. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants on-site.

Nope. Overpriced. Not good. We ordered the chicken lime bowl (one vegetarian and one chicken). They barely had black beans and the chicken looks like it came from a can. The bowls were over $20 for mostly rice and mystery sauce. Not good.

    Grilled shrimp over cauliflower rice

I actually really like this restaurant! Considering it is inside Great wolf Lodge, it was really a pleasant surprise! Most of the food was great! And not all deep fried and bar food like a lot of the other choices here. The service was good, however you could tell they were short staffed. We had the same waitress both nights and she was wonderful! They also offer both 6 and 9oz wine pours! And they have good options for wine! The first night we had the lettuce wraps, which I wouldn't recommend actually, the steak and Fries, and the power greens salad with shrimp. The steak and the salad were awesome! I also loved how they did the Parmesan fries. The second night we had the grilled shrimp over cauliflower rice and it was nice and light and super flavorful as well as the braised short rib bolognese, which was incredible! The kids can watch the water park or play in the lobby while you wait for food which is nice. Very kids friendly with food adults would actually like!

The restaurant is so much bigger and livelier and were so excited to see all of their success. Definitely come early to be able to try their brisket and Tony Mac! You wont regret anything you try but those are defnitely our favorites. Oh and the ribs, if you're looking for the incredible smokey juicy flavor look no further. Any of their bbq sauces are great and pair well, but we highly recommend giving their original a go because of the perfect balance of sweet, savory, with a bit of a kick.

Our waitress came quick enough to get our order, it's just that the food took a while. Maybe the side with counter walk-up is quicker. I ended up getting the catfish sandwich with fries and of course tried all the bbq sauces with the fries. The catfish was fried perfectly and the seasoning on the outside was quite tasty. Made for a very good sandwich. The fries were a little soggier/more oily than I would like, but I did use them to try the sauces. None of them were overly spicy, just a good flavor. I think my favorite was the Memphis which had a nice smokiness to it. For dessert I did end up ordering the key lime pie and was very happy with it. Tangy and refreshing! I somehow managed to save some for the next day and it was just as good. Overall, the food was good and the staff was friendly, it just took a while to get the food. There was a lot of to go business, so that's maybe the best way to order.

When we (my husband and I) arrived we placed an order EVA gave us our number and gestured that we can sit anywhere we chose. While we were waiting for our food I was quietly observing her, she wiped down all dining table, positioned them correctly, scooted all the chair in, picked up and discarded an empty cup sitting on counter, checked with the kitchen while keeping an eye on everyone coming in. This young lad is hard working, dedicated, striving to provide the highest quality of service with a smile. EVA you have my deepest gratitude for your dedication and service. God bless you young lady.

A Great New Addition to Gurnee--Beef, Shakes, and Rainbow Ice Cream!…read moreI dropped by the brand-new Buona Beef in Gurnee to grab dinner to go! It's located on the west side of town, safely away from the craziest of the mall traffic. Just a quick heads-up on navigation: if you're heading east, finding the entrance can be a little tricky. You have to turn left at N. Hutchins Road and spot the side road tucked behind the tall swamp grass! Inside, the restaurant is beautifully clean. It took about 10 minutes to prep my order, which included two Italian beef sandwiches, a side of potato salad, a Caesar salad (both prepackaged), and an order of their arancini beef bites. You get three to an order, and while they taste good, they completely fall apart the second you take a bite, so be careful! I actually watched a video on their history and learned they use a commissary kitchen to ensure the flavor stays consistent across all locations, which makes sense. It's a solid, reliable local chain and a really nice alternative to the usual burger or chicken franchises. As a massive bonus, there is a Rainbow Cone ice cream parlor right inside the building! Our office actually had their truck visit us before, so we already knew how good it is. I couldn't resist bringing home a gallon of the rainbow ice cream, a slice of cake, and the four sugar cones they pack up for you to scoop at home. I even signed up for their rewards program. With a huge menu that covers everything from beef and burgers to fresh salads, it's a great, handy new spot to have in the area! BTW, service was a little slow. Maybe they are still training?
