There are tons of options for bagels in Jersey, but you can't beat Baron's. Their bagels are absolutely perfect! They are huge and fluffy and have just the right amount of chewy! Tori have a huge selection of bagels, sandwiches, and cream cheeses/spreads. The staff is always super friendly! It gets a little busy on the weekends but the line moves fast! Bring your cash because it's cash only. Barons is excellent and it's almost a must stop when I'm in Jersey. read more

Being from North Jersey, I find that bagels down the shore are never as good. We were visiting friends and they suggested getting bagels from Baron's the next day. We ordered ahead on their website, which is really just DoorDash. It was very easy to do. We ordered the taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel. There are a lot of different bagel choices. When we picked it up I couldn't believe how heavy the bag was. The bagels are thick! It was also loaded with taylor ham. I wish I took a picture of it, but we were just so hungry. It was very good and I will go back next time I am in the area. read more

I have heard about this place and their vegan options but I had kind of forgotten. I called them and didn't expect them to say they had vegan/ gluten free bagels. They did! I went in and the woman said all the gluten free bagels were vegan as well, except for the plain one (which uses ricotta). I got an everything bagel with scallion vegan cream cheese. I also got a cinnamon raisin bagel with Just Egg, for my mom. The woman at the counter was very nice and informative. It was a nice experience. I found my bagel and cream cheese to be filling and tasty. The bagel is smaller and more dense than the regular bagels, but it is satisfying. My mom loved her bagel with Just Egg. read more

I was born in NJ so I'm a stickler for a good taylor ham (pork roll) egg and cheese on a bagel. I think the bagels at Baron's were not up to par if they're primarily a bagel place. They were more fluffy and like bread rather than a bagel texture. However their pork roll egg and cheese was loaded with meat! Remember they are cash only so bring cash but they do have an ATM on site. Also call ahead or order online as they are very busy. A bit disorganized with people standing around when you walk in but they do their best to help you out on arrival. read more

This location has always tried to over charge me beyond belief, I ordered an egg salad wrap and asked for a piece of turkey bacon inside they charged me an extra $6 to add that. One wrap and a bagel sandwich cost me $34 on more than one occasion. I will only go to the Brick location they are so much more pleasant & charge properly. read more

Bagels are always delicious, sandwiches not so much. I ordered 2 eggs over easy w/2pieces of cheese on a pumpernickel bagel. I asked them to please make them over easy. the girl at the counter ensured me they would be. then I asked for 2 hash browns well done. Eggs were fried, wasn't even sure there were 2 eggs and definitely not 2 pcs of cheese. hash browns were barely cooked and like mush. needless to say I threw the whole thing out. at least I saved a whole lot of calories. I called them 4 times to let them know...no answer. super disappointed. read more

Hands down the best bagels in the area. Surprisingly the Jersey Shore doesn't offer much in the way of good bagel spots, most are living off the fact that their are limited options in my opinion. I drive from Lavallette to come up here on weekends in the summer because they are that good. The bagels are huge and they use double the amount of cream cheese that you probably need. $2.75 for a bagel with cream cheese is a steal. Pro tip: Order 1 with cream cheese, 1 without and scrape off some for the 2nd bagel, it can be done easily. read more

Long time customer but deciding to finally leave a review after noticing some changes in the last couple years. Is this place still good? Of course. Is it as good as it was 6-7 years ago? Definitely not. They used to PACK the bagels full of stuff, which you can see in pictures from earlier reviews. In the last couple of years, there's a lot less filling. I thought it was just bad luck the first couple times it happened but it's been consistently less eggs, less cream cheese, etc. The bagels themselves are still absolutely huge and good as ever, which is why I can't possibly knock off another star. But I do miss the huge servings, honestly. Set them apart a little bit and now they're on par with most other bagel places nearby. read more

Barron's has always been great. I've recently discovered I have celiacs so bagels are a big no for me anymore. However they do have a small gluten free selection of bagels. If you know anything about gluten free breads and bagels, you know that all gluten free bagels are small, so don't expect the same size as the house made bagels. That being said, bagel was very good and toasting is a must. They still stack this sandwich high with pork roll, eggs and cheese. I don't believe there's a sign for gluten free bagels up anymore so I hope this review helps others find this bagel mainstay. Also, just let them know you have a gluten allergy/celiac, as they are not a gluten free establishment and will try they best to not cross contaminate. Enjoy! read more

Three words: TOFU CREAM CHEESE. This is the ONLY bagel joint in my area that I have found to have vegan cream cheese and it is absolutely DELICIOUS. My typical order is a Super Wheat Everything with Veggie Tofu Cream Cheese, but according to all of my coworkers, they have never been less than delighted with any of their orders either! They also offer vegan breakfast sausage on their sandwiches :) Great spot & quick prep and delivery via food delivery services. They are not bagels anymore As reviewed by another patron, their bagels hard and uncooked in the middle .Having hard time to chew ,I wonder if they changed hands too. They have 12 employees behind the counter but service too slow waited for 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches,the guy with the glasses had run outside to give me free sandwiches which I refused to take anything for free! I had an outstanding experience at Baron's Bagels in Point Pleasant, NJ. The service was incredibly friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed the egg bagel - it was not only enormous but also paired perfectly with their delicious whipped cream cheese. I came here with my top-tier chum to grab a bite this past Saturday before hitting the beach. The downtown area of Ocean Grove is super tiny so there aren't a lot of breakfast games in town. We saw a bakery across the street with a line snaking out the door, and decided to go with the other open establishment within our line of sight that didn't have a line. That was that. There were a handful of customers waiting for sandwiches/bagels, but the line moved and we were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. This is probably the least bougie spot we frequented over the weekend, and again, not an insult. This is pretty much dictionary definition bagel shop - no frills, just efficient bagel ordering/processing. I don't recall a seating area but if there was one, it was only one or two tables; this is a place you grab something to go, not hang out and mingle. There's a refrigerated area with some drinks, but most of the square footage is devoted to the work in the back, where everyone was super busy. We showed up probably around 8am or a little after and it was hopping. OG is not a party town, and this was exhibit A. Neither of us was insanely hungry (case in point - my chum finished off her order the next day), but I thought it was important to get a few carbs in before the adventures started. I went with a classic bacon egg & cheese on a roll, and my chum got an everything bagel, I think with some stuff on it. Perfectly fine. To me, it's pretty difficult to mess up a breakfast sandwich. My only quibble is that the ingredient equilibrium was a bit off - this was heavy on the cheese versus the egg. I'm sure tons of people are into that, but I like to be able to legit taste all three players. Otherwise though, did exactly what it was supposed to. I don't usually heavy breakfasts like this unless I'm on vacation (I'm a Wheaties adherent 99% of the time), but this was good. No issues, just pretty run of the mill. And given that we literally had two options, this was an acceptable second choice.
