When you picture the perfect local pub, this is it! Great music system, plenty of TVs, awesome outdoor seating, pool tables, and dart boards. Everything's clean and well-kept from the tables to the chairs. Jess makes everyone feel like a BFF, she's genuine, engaging, and always makes a point to say goodbye (even when you're trying to pull an Irish exit, LOL). Folks in the pub are just as friendly. As a foodie, I can say the food is consistently solid. I stop by on my way home from work a couple times a week and usually find myself back on the weekends while bar-hopping. read more

We were in a hurry to eat and saw this place as we were driving home. We walked in on a Tuesday late afternoon and were the only ones there. While the server was nice and attentive and got our order correct, the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich came with American cheese instead of Swiss cheese, and a handful of semi-soggy fries. The chicken fingers were decent, and beers were good but not very cold. The place didn't seem like it was air conditioned very well and they had a bunch of fans blowing. The carpet in front of the restrooms had a bunch of dog hair on it. The place just didn't seem well-cared for. It might be more of a locals dive bar with four dart boards and a bunch of TVs, but I wouldn't recommend going there if food is your priority. read more

Brittany, Max, and Jess are actual treasures when it comes to this place. The pours are half of what they are at mcswiggans and gecko so customers are definitely over paying but it's worth it if any of these gems are working. The drinks were good, the bar wasn't too crowded, and the games were all good quality, but the music was bad. HOWEVER.... STORY TIME The bartenders threw a fit when we paid our bill for "not tipping enough". We had a $300 bill split between 6 people, with each person paying a varying amount depending on what they ordered. After the first three guys paid for $95 of that $300 total and tipped $5 each ($15 total), two bartenders started giving dirty looks and pulled me aside to say "you know you only paid $15 for a $300 bill, that should be a $50 tip minimum." I told her that we still have 3 guys paying for the other $200 of the bill and we're going to tip fairly. The rest of my friends finished paying and left a $30 tip for the remaining $200 on the tab. That comes out to a $45 tip for a $300 tab. What is 15% of $300? Oh, $45! So we gave a 15% tip to bartenders that were talking to other patrons while making our drinks, that didn't deliver us our drinks, collected beers that we were still drinking, etc just not fantastic above and beyond service. you just made us drinks. And then complained about tips while we were still finishing up tipping you. Anyways, After wrapping up the bill and beginning to walk out the bartender restarted the conflict with me and said we "should learn how to tip". I apologized and explained that we are all freshly 21 year old college students but we still paid $45 tip for a $300 tab, and that throughout the night we bought beers in cash and left the change as tips. Instead of thanking us for our gracious 15% tip she said to "tell my friends they tip like shit". At this point the entire bar staff was wandering around the counter so we just left, I'll still be confused to this day on how a 15% tip is worthy of escalating something so far. unfortunately will not be attending this establishment again until I try all the other bars in North Texas. read more

Was there Sunday 04/14, in the late evening, service was great at first and there was an obvious shift change. When the shift change happened the new bartender that we ordered with stated there wasn't a way to make the drink I received previously (about 30 minutes earlier). We told her just to make something similar. Which they did and it was delicious. We asked for the same drink again and she told us she didn't have a way to make it. We kindly told she just made it for us, then she called the bouncer on us who then picked up my friend and carried her out the door in an aggressive manner. No warning was given, and it was definitely not warranted just because she didn't want to make a drink. I feel that if the bouncer was instead a mediator of the situation instead of aggressive with picking her up, it would have resolved the situation. read more

Saintsbury seems to be small UK themed bar in a nice area surrounded by apartment complexes. The interior is fairly simple and clean with a large jukebox which is fun. There are no booths in the place which I do not care for because there was no where to really get comfortable. Only high top seating which I think is more what they are going for - quick in, spend money and out. My guest and I tried the deviled eggs, pot stickers and eggrolls from the appetizer menu. All of them were delicious with the exception of the eggrolls which were average. They do have Strongbow cider which seems to be a rarity in a world of Angry Orchard fans and they serve white cranberry juice with Crasins in it for their vodka/cranberry drink....delicious. Its a fun sports bar to grab a drink with friends and watch the game but don't come thinking you can get comfy and stay awhile. Friendly service topped off with good food and decently priced drinks - this place is a winner if you're in the area. *My only dissatisfaction was their $3.00 vodka specials on Wednesday I believe with a vodka that costs about $13.00 per bottle. Saintsbury Tavern, the place closest to me that I haven't been to in over 2 years since i've known its existence. Hmmmm. So, great location, love the outdoor seating, and the staff is very friendly. For sure. I went there with my date when the live music was playing and her thoughts were -"you brought me to a place where failed 1st round american idol contestants play music". Good start for me. lol Luckily, the drinks were good and well priced. Huge plus there, because it was a coin-flip on the food. The queso and chips, were a small fail. Thick and congealing pretty fast. It was too much pre made cheese mix and not enough liquid to bring up the consistency of the queso. Chips were fine tho. One a scale of how good they are, think opposite of chuy's queso. (Chuys is in the top 3 best queso's). For food, the cajun pasta. Overall, pretty good dish, which was a very pleasant surprise for us. The cream sauce was consistent and had some spice. The chicken and pasta was cooked well. The red onions should be yellow or sweet onions, and the red peppers were fine. The knife cuts on the veggies were inconsistent and needed work. Big/small wide and thin. They really supported diversity there. Finally, the toast. Unbuttered, un seasoned toast. WHY? Dry plain toast... Overall, definitely see myself coming back for drinks, just maybe not food. read more

Hey we are in Texas and enjoy watching cowboys games. Rather than have the game on the LARGEST screen for the locals to see, they decide to put on the brown's game for a table of six. When I asked why it's not on, I was told it's on a lot of other screens. Seems they cater to the drunk people, a group of Six wearing browns jerseys. This place used to be fun. Not all of us can see well when we're not near the tvs. Will not be coming back and will let my fellow cowboys fans to go elsewhere because they clearly don't care about us. read more

I came out to celebrate Fat Tuesday and enjoy free crawfish and drink specials until my bill came. There was a special on Deep Eddy vodka drinks for $4 and I specifically asked the waitress if I wanted to mix two different flavors of Deep Eddy would it be more cost, she said no and confirmed they had the flavor I wanted. Bill came and they charged way more than $8 for two drinks, she explained they charged me for both flavors and I asked for the manager and he had the audacity to tell me "I can pay for it and he'll take off one drink (which was still more than $8) or, he'll take care of it and I can never come back to the restaurant again" WTF kind of resolution is that!? Needless to say, I finally paid my correct bill and I will never return! What should've been a fun night turned into this, and he tried to justify it by saying he gave me free crawfish, no sir, you gave the entire restaurant free crawfish, did they receive the same horrible managerial experience? Again this was a mistake on the waitress and y'all should train them better with the correct information, and I've never heard of a Manager asking someone to never come back. I have been to Saintsbury Tavern quite a few times. I live in Thousand Oaks so it is walkable. The atmosphere is great! You can sit down at a table and get food, sit at the bar and watch sports, sit on the patio and enjoy live music, or play games like pool and darts. They're food really surprised me, really good bar food! Only complaint is they sometimes have a DJ inside blasting music way too loud. read more

Everyone here is so nice!! The waitress we had made sure we were comfortable and told us about their Friday happy hour special. The drinks/cocktails they make are really tasty and get a nice buzz going. Not to mention how laid back the atmosphere is! Plenty of flatscreens with sports going. My alumni club has now shifted all its north suburban game watching events as well as a few other special events to this one of the Harder Group's venues. It has proven popular with the group and does a phenomenal job of ensuring lots of screens and the sound are tuned to our games. Being regular customers, we tend to get especially great service from the staff, even when we have larger crowds. The atmosphere is good, with ample natural light and garage doors to the patio section when the weather is cooperative. The patio sections are dog friendly and there are usually a number of canines earning attention. The menu is not extensive but not unusually small for a bar. Pizzas are quite good and I currently favor the club sandwich, which is especially good for the long college games as it takes a while for me to eat. I also ask to replace the fries/tots with carrot sticks & celery and that's no problem. They have different specials for each day of the week. I came in for a Monday Night NFL game and enjoyed the boneless wing special. Since then I've also sampled the bone-in wings and they're equally good. The menu is adjusted now and then. In the process I've lost some favorites; that and the modest selection led to missing the 5th star, even though I'd really rate them 4 1/2 stars if I could. We had a pretty good time here on our first visit. We sat on the patio with our son in tow. There were NOT many kids there... as in, ours was the only one for a while. Someone else brought a lil feller later (maybe a 1-year old), but it really isn't much of a kid / family friendly place. Our son ran around some on the patio, not getting into anyone's business, and we did feel the stares of a few folks. Other folks enjoyed his presence, so... whatever. Bottom line, didn't feel super family friendly to me. No matter, we still enjoyed ourselves. Our server, Oceana, was great. She took good care of us, was friendly, and we liked her. She told us about $3 cans on Sundays, so I enjoyed a couple of Deep Ellum Dallas Blondes. Good deal for $3 each. I opted for a burger and my wife got the fireball chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The burger really exceeded my expectations. I added grilled onions and bbq to the regular burger, and I'd highly recommend that. I got the house chips on the side and my wife got fries. Both were great. I think I prefer the chips just because they're "different" and the seasoning on them was great. Yum. A dude was playing acoustic guitar and singing on the patio, so that was cool. Pretty good ambiance, overall. My only real knock against this place is some of the crowd. Not surprisingly, given the area, there were lots of beautiful people and... I dunno, some strutting and posturing going on, you know? Just felt a little fake and uptight. Not all of the crowd, certainly, but enough of it. The singer was actually married to one of the Real Housewives of Dallas, who showed up at one point. So... definitely some sterotypical Dallas Dallas here. I prefer a more laid back, friendlier crowd. Eaze up, folks. A highlight for me was Jerry, one of the owners, was working that evening. ****BRUNCH REVIEW ONLY***** My gf and I have lived at Austin Ranch for about 3 years. While we have had burgers. Wraps and pizza from here. Even free taco night food is better than what you would expect from a Tavern that serves food. Nonetheless we decided to give ST a try for brunch. The mimosas are $3 and not very good. Too much OJ. flat champagne. The breakfast ham was literally a Stack of lunch meat grilled on each side cold in the middle. The hash browns were soggy, and tasted like they were left in the bag to thaw out and then cut. The reason I know this is because I've done this with a bag of Ore-Ida hash browns before tasted the same. I had the chorizo and egg tacos which were pretty decent minus the store bought tortillas that tasted like the plastic bag they were in. We're good portion and had a good amount of chorizo and egg and cheese. My and a couple of friends decided to try out a few bars in the Austin Ranch area. First up was Saintsbury Tavern. Our verdict is that this was the best out of the 3 places we went to. All the staff there were really friendly. Morgan was working her first night by herself and did a great job looking after us. Had to ask for a glass a couple of times to go with my beer. Any beer that's over $6 deserves a glass :) They had a live DJ which I was dreading but he was actually pretty decent and wasn't overload loud, so we were still able to talk. We decided to move on to the other places and maybe eat but nothing appealed so we ended back up Saintsbury Tavern for food. Sarah looked after us this time and did an equally great job. Although the chicken fettuccine was good, it wasn't worth the $10 it well selling for, maybe $6 worth or $7 at the most. My friends both got burgers that were massive and probably a better value. Overall, Nice hangout place with a patio which seems to allow dogs, friendly staff, decent beer, food value may not be worth it depending on what you get, which is why I knocked off a star. Their website and social feeds highly publicized that they have a dog friendly patio. When I went we were asked to leave because they aren't pet friendly anymore due to changing city ordinances. Stopped by on a whim. Tried the 2 for 1 America burger. Hope that my experience isn't the norm, but someone needs to introduce the kitchen staff to salt and pepper. The hamburger was sooo bland. Would have been ashamed to serve an unseasoned burger to my friends if I had grilled it myself. My order arrived with the wrong side. Rather than let me keep my plate with the wrong side they actually took the incorrect side back to the kitchen and returned a half empty plate. Not the end of the world but I found it curious. This is a great place with several great events. Game watches, crawfish boil,DJ, and more in a great location . Patio seating with dogs allowed. Indoor outdoor space. Great food lots of tvs. The GM was very nice. Great pizza with buttery crust and thick cheese. We really like the trash can nachos as they were very evenly distributed with toppings to chip ratio avoid jalapeños and hot sauce if you don't like them too spicy.
