I took a friend visiting me in Dallas because I love this place and wanted a chill environment with good food. Let me start with seating--if you want your guest to seat themselves put a sign up. We stood at the door for about 5 minutes, the only person we saw was the bartender. A lady got up and left while we were waiting and she said service sucks; however I convinced my friend to stay because the wings are very good. We proceeded to seat ourselves, and continue to wait again. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I went to the bar and asked if they have any waiters. The bartender asked where are we sitting--I pointed and went back to the table. After a few minutes he came over and took our orders. I know there's an issue with wait staff in the workforce, just put up a sign to seat yourself, grab a drink from the bar, someone will be with you shortly! When the name is "Prime Brisket Queso Blanco" I should not have to dig through the entire bowl to find a few shavings of meat. What a joke. Changing the side from fries to anything else is an upcharge. Not much smoke flavor in the bbq and way too much fat that hasn't been rendered. Staff dress code is all over the map ranging from excessive cleavage on display to sweat shirt and pants. Very slow service with few customers: some staff chatting it up at the bar, and some staff not sure whether they are bartending or waiting tables. Came in a little later and found this is an open seating restaurant. As we went to sit we also found that with the garage doors open to the outside it was a bit chilly inside which left seating options very limited. Service was quick and very friendly. We ordered the corn fritter appetizer, a 2 meat plate and a 1 meat plate with the beans and potatoe salad bake. The corn fritters were super yummy!! Came out hot and freshly fried with a great dip. Our dinner plates were not anything to write about. The sausage was cold.... not even warm just cold to where we questioned if this was a trending new way to serve it because we were shocked they served it as cold as they did. The brisket was eh good but brisket. The beans were good and the potatoe salad bake which sadly the server had to explain what it was because it is a hot side and she said customers had been assuming it was cold so she explains what it is.... maybe change this one and save her the effort. Then.... we were ready for dessert!! No dessert. Ok... it looks like they are still in some kind of soft opening so this is why there's no dessert? And let me mention our sausage was recooked and brought back HOT with many apologies and everyone was very polite and friendly. The brisket was good, but we enjoyed the ribs so much that the second time we went back we just got ribs. They also have a pretty good beer menu and a pretty fun environment. My colleagues and I went to lunch today and were excited to try this new restaurant for us. The day bartender presented to be friendly until she took our drink order. My colleagues asked for ice tea and I requested for hot water with a lemon. The server, reported that they did not have Hot Water and I inquired are you sure? She went to check and came back and said we don't have Hot water. And didn't offered a way to get get hot water. Overall the food was good though the lack of providing customer service as simple as providing a cup of hot water with lemon was disappointing and I will not return. The Texas sauce was thick and with just a twang of sweet. We were disappointed that they did not have and of their banana pudding. That was one of the reasons we decided to try the place out. The jalapeño sausage was COLD, and the brisket was "warm." My salad was almost the same temp as the sausage honestly. Our server took our order and suddenly 30 min later, with maybe 6 patrons in the venue, we got our food and it wasn't even our server whom seemed to leave. After getting our food we sent some plates back to heat up; somehow it took 10 minutes to get our food back. I hope to get much better service the next time I come back.
