I had heard good things about the food, so I was excited to try, when invited by a new friend. The space is a little cramped (more on that later.) He arrived before I did, but I didn't see him, so I was seated closer to the front, next to a table with 3 ladies of a certain age. We were quickly greeted by a waiter, who brought a carafe of water. I didn't see the specials, but they were on a sandwich board near the door. I asked the waiter if he would choose the fish and chips or one of the burgers. His response was an emphatic fish and chips. My friend asked for a pasta dish that was on special. The fish was covered with a very thick beer batter. I had to peel away 75% of it because it was too much. The fish inside was cooked well, though. I ate some of the fries. My iced tea was never empty. My friend's pasta dish was very garlic-forward and salty. He said that it was almost inedible because of the level of salt. But, he did like the ingredients and overall concept of the dish. My friend and I are of Mexican descent. The ladies next to us were not. Because of the proximity of their table to ours, we could hear them and they could hear us. One lady grabbed her purse and clutched it to her chest, the entire meal, once we sat down. Ok, no big deal. But, I heard them have some conversations about the "illegals" and "criminals" that had "infiltrated" the Valley. So, I began speaking about my underground railroad for getting undocumented workers connected to resources for citizenship. I even spoke about an apartment building that I had purchased in the area to house these immigrants. (None of this is true, but I wanted to see their reaction.) Despite pretending they weren't listening, they shot me dirty looks and immediately asked for the check. Buh bye ladies. Teach you to be nosy and judgmental. Won't be my first choice for dinner, but I might go back if it isn't too busy. read more

The food is great. There is a full menu, including vegan and gluten-free options. On taco Tuesday, I enjoyed the blackened salmon tacos. I consider the Barrel District's gourmet pizzas to be especially delicious. The crust is perfectly crispy, exactly as it should be. All pizzas can be ordered with cauliflower crust, which is also excellent. For those who enjoy adult beverages with a meal, this restaurant offers beer, wine and cocktails. We were visiting Cathedral City for a family vacation when we decided we should order a pizza for dinner. We went on Yelp and came across Barrel District and read the reviews. So we ordered on line a 10" cheese pizza for the kids & a 16" pepperoni, mushroom for adults. We ordered on line the Caesar Salad and the Caprese Salad to share. My son went to pick up the food and came back saying that it was really an awesome place and we need to go there some day to hang out and eat at the restaurant next time. The Pizza was delicious and the crust was perfect. The salads were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place as everyone was happy with the food. The only negative thing I can say is we should have ordered TWO 16" PIZZA'S!! read more

While, on a staycation in Palm Springs, looking for a new place to eat. We found the Barrel Station on Yelp. When we read the vegan menu and the reviews we were sold. The service over the phone and in person were excellent. We wanted pizza and for a vegan diet cheese is everything, so I called ahead to see what type of cheese they served. The gal that answered the phone got one of the cooks to come and tell me about the blend that they use. (Nice) My husband decided on the vegan buffalo burger and I had vegan pizza with mushrooms and vegan sausage. Both items were really yummy. The burger was juicy with a yummy pretzel bun and American cheese. The pizza had a delicious crust, creamy cheese and loads of sausage and mushrooms. I ordered it with a side of marinara and chef's kiss. The ambience is nice with great music playing softly, light bulbs centerpieces as candles all around, TV with current sports, warm and rustic spot. We came here because of the vegan menu and non vegan menu options. I was happy to see that the happy hour menu also had vegan options. I ordered the Plant Based Buffalo Avocado Burger with the vegan aioli on the side (Plant based patty topped with a vegan buffalo aioli, vegan cheese, avocado, arugula, tomato & red onion on a vegan bun) and it's Served with a side of french fries for $13.95. Wanted to try the vegan district supreme pizza (Tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella cheese, vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage, green bell peppers, onion, tomato, mushroom & olives) for $19.95. I was a little disappointed with our server because 1) She kept suggesting non-vegan options for me even though I told her that I was vegan. 2) she told me there were no more French fries, but asked kitchen and said there was enough for one more. When I received it, she didn't mention that they only had sweet potato fries left. I don't like sweet potato fries. I ended up giving it to my girlfriend. 3) menu says there are vegan sweet treats daily, but there was none served today. Other disappointments: my burger was missing avocado, and my girlfriend was not a fan of her burger or her salad. I forgot that it came with avocado until I read the menu again and the NAME of the burger. The watermelon margarita was tasty and my girlfriend liked her drink. There's one gender neutral bathroom. So damn good and our waiter was top notch!!! The wedge salads were perfect. I got mine with blue cheese and my wife got ranch. The pizzas - Chefs Kiss!!!! The pepperoni was so damn good and salty and my wife is GF and they have cauliflower crust and she got the bbq chicken pizza. Overall it was so delicious!!! The best part was that we yelped this place before we went to this establishment and always trust the reviews. So damn glad I did!!! Kudos to our waiter. We came in here for a quick late night dinner. There is plenty of parking, they had both indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar area too. The place was really busy for a Friday night, we thought we had to wait some time, but we were seated within 5 minutes. We ordered the Brussels with bacon, the 10" supreme pizza, and a cold light beer. It was a triple digit kind of weather and we were visiting town. I didn't feel like eating too much but when the Brussels came out and I took a bite, it was so delicious - crisp, sweet, and savory, it made me kept wanting another bite and another and another. I finished half of the plate myself. The supreme pizza was really good too. Crispy crust and bread, generous amount of toppings and it was really tasty. The cold beer, on a hot night, it was just perfect! I forgot to ask who our waitress was, but thank you for the recommendation on that beer! and for serving us rather quickly and efficiently! Thank you! We came in with 2 kids and they were given some coloring activities and crayons to keep busy while we wait for the food. My friend and I came in on a Wednesday around 11:15am. The restaurant is very nice, really clean. The service was excellent. She was very friendly and efficient. She gave me a fresh Pepsi when I was halfway thru with my first drink. That really impressed me being a former restaurant manager. My friend ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich with fries. She had a craving for the Ahi and it was superb. I had a few of her fries and they were the star of my lunch!! I love good fries and these are some of the best that I have ever had. A table of four was seated next to us about 10 min after we were seated. They received their drinks before us. And their food came 20 min bf ours. It took forever to get our food. We ordered chicken wings as appetizer and it came with our entrees. Appetizer people!! My ahi was cooked correctly, but there it was, alone on a bed of greens. No dressing. Unfortunately, the last two times I dined at Barrel District I ordered sparkling wine. Flat. No bubbles. So they opened a new bottle. A bartender and server should know that it was flat! We were there to celebrate a birthday. The server knew. She knew how her service was inept. She never acknowledged the birthday. How embarrassing that we took our friends there to celebrate. Never will we return. And we are spreading the word about how truly bad Barrel District is. I enjoyed their excellent filet of salmon sandwich I got on my way out of town! The salmon was a very decent size, a true filet (NOT a patty!), came with baby lettuce, mayo sauce (jalapeño? -but wasn't spicy at all) & avocado, all on an amazing soft bun...the combo & quality were so, SO GOOD!! I wish I had a picture but I devoured it quickly. I don't live in the area but will stop in again my next visit. Absolutely disappointed had heard from people regarding this restaurant, and My Son took me out for a dinner and we walked in the hostess was amazing very welcoming. She sat down us next r to the hostess desk on a topper table. We sat, and sat and sat while 4 or five different waitresses, including the owner past our table back-and-forth back-and-forth not one person greeted us not one person smiled at us not one person asked us even for our drink order so disappointed the owner was up and down seem to be busy, but never acknowledged us. We got up and walked out and yet we never were acknowledged as we walked out. Unfortunate. I had high hopes for this place, but the service is abysmal in my opinion is below average. read more

Kind of a sketchy first impression rolling in. The parking lot doesn't give away that it's home to such a great little spot. We were welcomed by a friendly staff and seated quickly. Made it early enough for happy hour and ordered the Italian pretzel. It was unique with cheese baked on top, though it could have been cooked a bit longer. The wings were awesome. Not too spicy. They even brought out habanero sauce for the adults who wanted an extra kick. We had a full table with orders of fish and chips, the avocado club, and multiple salads. Everyone was happy with their meals. The club sandwich wasn't quite what we expected, but it was still delicious. The whole staff was kind and welcoming. While in Cathedral City, a friend and I stopped in for some pizza. Their pizzas are interesting and refreshing, as is the rest of the menu. The server I had that night was fantastic, fun, and friendly and I appreciated that so much after a stressful day. I found the pizza delicious and fresh. The Brussels sprouts were AMAZING, and the hot wings with ghost pepper sauce were really good (not hot enough for me but still pretty great).
