Barrel District continues to be one of my favorite spots for Happy Hour. I've gone a few more times and service is consistently good from: Delaney, Rodney, and Bree. One visit, I got the Pasta of the Day, which was a creamy red sauce with sausage and mushrooms. It was so good and had plenty of both mushrooms and sausage. No skimping here! I will continue coming back and still need to try a burger and pizza off their menu.

Another hidden gem in a sense that we found. I'm sure everyone in the desert knows about this place. Tucked in and part of a pretty decent size strip mall, is this place. When we pulled up, the place was packed and busy. They have a nice size patio which was completely full. When we walked in, majority of the tables were taken already and there was a slight wait. Nothing major which did move pretty fast. Checked in with the hostess which she was the sweetest. She mentioned that one of the patio table was available but needed to be cleaned up. We were fine with it. Cynthia who took care of us for dinner was a major doll. The sweetest and so welcoming. She made sure that us and everyone else was well taken cared of and felt like we were all friends hanging out. Amazing customer service on her part. The menu did have a lot of amazing items and inside they also had specials of the day. Started off with a huge cold one. One of the lagers and a nice cold cider. Both were great and nicely recommended. Didn't have any starters as we just wanted to go straight for the entrees. I had two options which I was eyeing and went with what Cynthia had recommended out of the two. The seafood Alfredo with pasta noodles (linguine) with lobster and shrimp in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Plain and simple but very tasty. Nice pieces of shrimps and chunks of lobster. The flavors were amazing. It's a little small on the portion which some maybe ok with. But if you're hungry, it might be a little small. And the seared ahi tuna and avocado salad. Mixed green with of course avocado and seared ahi, red onions, edamame, cucumber, wonton chips and tossed in a sesame ginger dressing. Wow, for a salad it was delicious. Nice chunks of fish and loads of the topping. The dressing was really nice and portion was quite hefty. Both dishes were great and the flavors were excellent. The place was busy throughout our meal with people walking in on rotation. Glad we found a place that was worth the meal and drinks. And really nice customers service.

What a great little place! WONDERFUL food and drinks. We had the barrel wings and the jalapeño pepperoni pizza. Amazing and the wings were so meaty! My husband had a tangerine ipa which he enjoyed and I had the grapefruit hibiscus marg which was fantastic Service was wonderful Super glad we popped in!

First visit and had a good experience. We arrived towards the end of the evening, but they were still busy. Rodney found us a seat and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They have an extensive menu, including a large selection of vegan options. Small covered patio in front and lots of indoor seating, including a bar. Plenty of parking in the shopping center's lot. We started with a couple drinks: Upside Down Brown Ale ($8), Georgia Peach Tea ($13), and a Lemon Drop ($13), and a few appetizers: the Mexican Street Corn ($10) and the Ahi Stack ($16.95). Both apps were delicious. For our entrees, we tried the Tres Pork Belly Tacos ($16.95) and the Fish & Chips ($18.95). Again, everything was delicious. Overall, a cool place for a good meal or just hanging out with friends. We'll be back.

We came here because my son wanted pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is cool and relaxed yet you could totally come here for any event. Food was GREAT! Especially the hot wings! Everything had great flavor. Our waiter was super nice and helpful. He made the experience even better. I'd recommend 10/10

Came here for a quick bite and drinks on NYE. It was raining and a little cold, but we decided to sit on the patio since the inside was packed and they moved the heater right next to our table which made it comfortable. I had the Mexican lager, which was delicious, they were out of the hazy IPA my friends wanted to try, but the server suggested another drink which they said it was really good too. We had the supreme 10 inch perfectly cooked, crispy crust and very delicious. Service was exceptional. Our server was great. Accommodating and checked on us frequently. Great spot I'll definitely be back to try again!

Taking off one star because we went back recently and the service was sub-par. Our server was very slow in general, brought out the wrong soft drinks, and never refilled any of the water glasses or brought a carafe of water for the table.

We came by for happy hour and the variety in the happy hour menu did not disappoint. We came super hungry and ordered right away a bunch of food. The food took a bit to come out, but when the food was ready, they all came out at once. All the food that we ordered were delicious and fresh. The pulled pork on the sandwich was a bit salty. It seemed there were only 2 servers working and it wasn't the easiest to track them down, but it wasn't a problem. I'd be back again for happy hour!

A cozy little place to watch sports and feel at home, the Barrel District offers a menu with tons of options as well as a vegan menu and a doggie menu! We have dined outside with our dogs a few times, a pleasure. The service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are good. Our favorite appetizer is the street corn, and my spouse loves the seafood pizza. Highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Barrel District

Do you have a separate room for large groups (20 persons)?

Hello Suzy, we do handle large parties on a regular basis and often multiple parties of 20 or more, but do not have a private room. We can arrange for a section to be assigned if needed.

    Are you dog friendly?

    Absolutely

    Do they take reservations?

They prefer reservations for large parties, but aren't necessary for the usual 2-top.

What are the happy hour times?

    3 to 6:30 every day

Is your pizza crust made from scratch in house or is it a pre made product?

It has to be made in-house. I eat there frequently, and the crust is crisp-crunchy thin, yet chewable...the best of both worlds. The menu items I've eaten there are high quality, so I am assuming in-house for everything.

Do you have a full bar or just beer and wine?

    Full bar

If I bring my 84 year old vegetarian grandma here, would it be appropriate?

Yes of course. Currently outside patio dining with an awesome vegetarian/ vegan menu!

I've seen places that supposedly offered it but I get there, it's a whole different concept of it. Well, I may have found one that's worth it. Plus a lot of places do close early on Tuesday's and Wednesday. Also not open those days as they tend to be more mellows. Anyway, we found this place last minute. It's part of a strip mall with a few other Mexican restaurants surrounding it. Once inside, there's a bar to the left right by the door when you walk in. Restaurant is to the right where the main seating area is. There's also a back area but it was utilize for a private party that night. At first we were kind of iffy as there was barely anyone there but since we were here already it was a go. The waitress was quite friendly and very sweet. Throughout the while dining experience, they constantly checked up on us to see how the food was and if we needed anything else. Made sure we were taken cared of and enjoyed our experience. Then comes the menu, quite a lot of dishes that you would typically get at a Mexican restaurant and some that seem to be new. The birria ramen which lately have been seeing at loads of Mexican restaurant. Of course as it was Tuesday, we came for the tacos. Before you walked in, there's a board that says tacos Tuesday, 4 tacos for 10.00. Thats a deal that's worth it. Either chicken, al pastor, chorizo and buche. Of course that was needed. We wasn't quite sure what buche was so opted out from that. Started off with a cold beer as they have draft and price was quite nice. 2 order of the tacos, one with 2 chicken and 2 al pastor while the other was 2 al pastor, 1 chorizo and 1 chicken. When the dish came out, it was well plated. You usually see just the tacos alone but it was plated with slices of cucumber, radish, grilled onions and grilled chili peppers. Quite nice. And of course I had to try their birra ramen. Seems lately that Mexicans restaurant are incorporating that dish to their menu. I'm also on the hunt for the best...lol... This dish too was quite tasty. Pretty decent bowl full of broth and loads of meat. Served with a side of onions and cilantro and lime slices. The color was nice. Had a dish a while back where the color of the broth was pretty light and watery. This place was nice. The tacos were very tasty both the chicken and al pastor which also had slices of pineapple added. Chicken was flavorful and chorizo was goods. Onions and cilantro also added but asked beforehand if we wanted them. Beforehand, three different salsa was brought out, spicy medium and mild. Wow, both the spicy (red) and medium (green) were delicious. The right amount of spicy and perfect for the tacos. Food was delicious both the ramen and tacos. It's with the 10.00 for the four tacos and birria ramen was tasty and delicious. Worth it. Glad that we found this place. And the staff, all very sweet and very friendly. Attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. Didn't have room for dessert but will definitely be back. We got seated at one of the booth which literally looked a lot to the men's restroom. It was fine but not a thing you want to see while eating.

During the month of August, they take their holiday break as it's pretty quiet in the desert. A lot of other businesses tends to do the same thing. We made sure to stop by for dinner right before they closed for the summer and when they opened back up, we were back. Opening night after their holiday break was the Friday of Labor Day weekend. And let me say, they were BUSY. People know about this place and that's a must. We've been coming for years as it's my favorite seafood restaurant in the desert. Right in the heart of downtown and literally walking distance from the bars along arena and the casino. Staff are alway so friendly and welcoming. Not only that, the two brothers are amazing. The sweetest and amazing at what they do, make amazing meals. They opened back up on Friday 9/4 but we stopped by Saturday 9/5. When we arrived around 7:30, the place was packed. The whole patio area was full of hungry people as well as inside. The kitchen bar top, bar area as well as the hi tops all were utilized. It's nice to be back knowing that you're going to have an amazing meal. Also we noticed a lot of their regulars back for opening night. You know it's a favorite as the regular are back for an amazing meal. It was a little wait for the kitchen counter seating but not too bad. Menu if you haven't checked it out is seafood and more seafood. They do offer some meat dishes if seafood isn't your thing. Friday, lobster bisque is offered. Basically everything we've had here has alway been excellent. Started off with the steamed green mussels in a white wine broths. The flavors and the meat mix with the broth, so good. Plus don't forget the garlic bread for dipping. Entrees, the Ruben which is my favorite. I can always get this and be happy each and every time. A wide selection of seafood tossed in a white wine with linguine, chefs kiss. Plus we tried the seafood kabobs for the first time which was quite nice. Very simple with jumbo prawns, scallops, seasonal fish and veggies skewered and grilled. Served with an orange chili glazed and choice of rice or pasta. The flavors were delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. The staffs are always so welcoming and friendly. Food of course is amazing and fresh. One of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs that's a must for food. If you can, have a seat at the kitchen counter. You get to interact with the chefs and see all the amazing dishes being prepared. Basically the chefs table. Until next time.

I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was really good. The eggs were perfectly poached, the salmon was generous, and the hollandaise was creamy without feeling too heavy. We also shared the bread and cheese board, and surprisingly, the pear with the date spread was probably one of my favorite bites. The pear was crisp and fresh, and that sweet, rich date spread was seriously addictive. I kept going back for more. The bread, nuts, cheese, and other little bites on the board made it really fun to share. The drinks were refreshing too, and the presentation was beautiful without trying too hard. Even we sat in the "outside" area but it was still quite loud. Service was slow. Not slow enough to complain to the host, but very slow. Our server was very nice, but just on the very bleeding edge of attentiveness. It certainly wasn't all her - the bar was slow, the food was slow. Fresh bread was provided while we waited, and it was quite good. The cocktail menu was wonderful. Execution was lacking. My first try was the Mrs. Foxy's Lemon Drop. I swear it was a mocktail. I couldn't detect by odor, taste or experience any alcohol at all. My dining partners had other choices and seemed satisfied. I moved on to something less capable of dilution - a Perfect Manhattan. Certainly it is nice to have a cocktail menu with all 3 Manhattan variations on it. The preparation was fine, but just on the small side (maybe 3 oz total). After that I moved on to a glass of wine. For dinner, I ordered the Pork Chop. It smelled wonderful and was cooked *exactly* to order. The balsamic glaze and mustard though just didn't come through on the palate. It lacked salt, and none was on the table. Dining companions ordered Scallops and seemed satisfied, though nobody was ooh-ing and ah-ing. To my surprise, my dining companions expressed an interest in desert. The cheesecake was very sweet and not as cheesy as I would prefer. Definitely didn't seem in-house. I had a decaf which was very clearly instant. At some places all this would be fine, but the pricing and the atmosphere just didn't live up to the expectations. In the end the value wasn't there for me. Apparently, though, I'm in the minority because there was a line to be seated at 8PM when we left. Probably not a repeat for me.
