UPDATE So after several text messages explaining how to build the table and chairs without the screwheads showing two phone calls and a half an hour FaceTime in them, they were able to finally satisfy my concerns and the uneven poorly screwed in deck screwheads that were showing throughout the exterior are now done from the inside and not showing ultimately providing a better quality product. The owner seems to believe that because he has responded to my concerns and ultimately fixed them that all is well. Though I appreciate very much is willingness to address my concerns and ultimately produce a quality product after much of my time being spent, it would've been far better for them just to produce a finished product to begin with. I will say that the final product after my many revisions is worth double what we paid. I hope the owner of the company realizes that having good quality control in a nice finished looked has tremendous value. If he were to produce what he finally produced after the several text messages and phone calls to begin with we would've happily paid double. The concept and overall design of their products is excellent. It is the quality control that is lacking. They should not be relying on their customers to educate them on how to make a quality finished product. Brian seems very satisfied that he responded to the customers concerns and rectified them. Generally speaking I would agree. It is my hope that Brian takes these critiques and changes the way he does things so he doesn't have to worry about responding to customers complaints. UPDATE-- After several texts, a 30 minute visit with a FaceTime call to go over HOW to put the furniture together without the screw heads showing from the outside, they were able to achieve a finished quality look!! 1.did they work really hard to give us a final product we found acceptable and that looks like finished furniture? Yes they did.. 2.Should the customer have had to give them a 20 minute tutorial on how to put their product together so it looked like a finished product? No. 3. Is the finished product that they finally produced in response to our complaints of high-quality? Yes. And in fact had they produced this from the beginning and had good quality control they easily could've charged $50 more per stool and $100 more for the table. Ultimately the company did respond to our concerns and did work very hard to achieve what we were looking for. However it should not have had to come to that. I think that this Business needs to put more effort into their quality control and the overall look of their final product. The design of their furniture is really nice and with additional quality control and attention to detail these furnishings could sell for double what they're currently charging. We are ultimately happy with the finished product, but not very happy that we had to put so much effort into getting this company to achieve what should have been their standard. They have an opportunity to become a leader in this custom furnishing area if they focus more on quality control and finished look. I stand by the earlier pictures and earlier comments that what they initially produced they were supposedly proud of with the screwheads being uneven deck screws that were not flush mounted. I have added photos of the final product with all the revisions we requested and the furniture looks fantastic. Having said that I cannot recommend doing business with this company without the caveat of do your own quality control because they have none in place. Our overall experience with the company was not one that left us feeling comfortable enough to recommend them to friends and family Without the warning of doing your own quality control and making sure that their quality of work is satisfactory to what you're looking for. It is my fervent hope that the finished product they produced for us will become their standard and if that is the case the biggest problem this company is going to have is not having enough workers or barrels to produce all the furniture they will have orders for. I will revise my one star review to a generous three stars. As I do appreciate their willingness to continue to try and make the customer happy, but again have they paid closer attention to quality control and finished look of this would have been a five star review from the beginning. Please take the time to look at the original pictures of the original product that they were very proud of, and the pictures of the revised product which looks excellent. read more

I spent a lot of time studying wine barrels. I decided a half-barrel was too small so when I came across the Barrel Dreams website and saw the 3/4 cut size I knew I had finally found what I wanted. I called to ask some questions, and Brian immediately answered. He was extremely helpful and provided me excellent service throughout the entire process. Most wine barrels are all beat up and the rings look terrible. Brian refurbished these so they look beautiful - he can paint the rings black, attach them so they don't fall off, and he even can add castors so it rolls. These are extremely thick staves and the bottom is very thick too. You get what you pay for - this barrel will last. read more

I wish I didn't insist on shopping local and small. He was not a friendly person to deal with. Working with a big box store on this would have been easier and friendlier. I misjudged my measurements and wanted to return the two planters I ordered, which he upcharged me on. Most local shops (not big box) were selling barrels at 50 dollars each, he sold them to me at 100 each (he even told me he advertised them for 40 each when returning them). in addition insisted that it should be delivered, adding another 80 dollars. nothing sat right with me. When I tried to return it, because I misjudged the sizing and received no responses with multiple attempts. On the third attempt google autocomplete the email field with my work email, I didn't catch it and submitted my request. He replied pretty quickly. Upon return he said I owed him another 25 dollars.. I just paid him and really just wanted to get over and done with. Coming back home and checking emails, that wasn't the case. When leaving, Brian bragged and pointed to some completed barrels and said they were going to Walt Disney world. My overall experience just screamed scummy and scammy from Brian. The guy who was in the workshop however, was really friendly, told me how to care for the wood and how to keep the color, etc. he genuinely seems to care about the products he creates. 1 star for that. read more

We're very happy with the two half-barrels we picked up to use as planters for our fruit trees. Compared to the barrels from our local garden supply, these appear to be of higher quality and are an inch or two larger in diameter. Also really appreciated the extra steel bands and the advice on how to make the planters last longer by pre-tensioning by placing bands on the inside. read more

Sure enough, I got a high quality planter customized to my needs (holes for drainage and castors to move it around the patio), the transaction was smooth and Brian was very accommodating with when we could pick it up. The turn around time for our customization was really quick too! I'm so impressed with the quality. My local nurseries charge the same price and you won't get anything nearly as nice. Oh and the smell! It smelled like the wine that was stored in it. Heavenly! It's almost a shame to put dirt in it but I'm so excited to get planting. Two thumbs up. We received a gift from our kids for Christmas 2019 of a Barrel top with their choice of engraving.it was picked up a couple days before Christmas and my son noticed the engraving was very light. So light in fact you could hardly see 1/3 of the letters. After the holidays I gave Barrel dreams a call to ask about getting a touch up on the lettering. I was told that they only use one laser intensity and that if I wanted more work done they would have to charge me for it or they told I could do it myself. This was not a inexpensive gift and felt this was not good customer service. Our product looked nothing like the engraving shown on their website. My husband spent hours on this product trying to darken the lettering and it is now acceptable no thanks to Barrel Dreams! read more

I ordered 6 wine barrels tables and two custom pieces from Barrel Dreams and they came out better than I could have hoped. When I told him what I needed the tables for, Brian came up with try genious idea of adding wheels to the bottom so I could roll the tables to my events without too much trouble. I order the wine barrel coffee table. The table has screws sticking out, gasps between the pieces of wood. The hinge cane not even attached to the table and they even know it's an issue. The table is to heavy for just one person to life which is a common complaint they get. The table table the wood is all uneven and once it's ship to you will will even up stuck with the product. read more

I've been following this company on instagram for about a year now and they make beautiful items but I didn't need anything so had not made a purchase. Finally finding myself in need of a large planter I immediately thought of them and was excited to get a crafted piece. The barrels were on sale which was perfect since I work for a small business which is currently closed. The starting price for the planter was $64. You can customize your planter with add-ons such as a drainage hole, vent space in the bottom so it doesn't rot, stain etc. Although I didn't need all the add-ons the owner suggested I get them and my intent was to support the business so I agreed to whatever he thought was best. He also seemed very busy so I didn't want him to have to explain what everything was and give me a breakdown of each individual charge. He had someone load the planter into my car while I paid the now $128.91 with all the extras, double the original price. When I got home I realized that the only add-on actually added was the hole in the bottom. There were no spacers for ventilation, the edges were definitely not sanded and there was no apparent stain. I don't mind being up-sold, I had chosen this place knowing it was more expensive then other sources but if you are going to charge double then at least include the extras that you suggested. My fault for not making sure what I was leaving with was what I actually paid for but when I buy a crafted item from a small business I have the expectation of a certain level of quality and this item did not meet my expectations. read more

He gave us a barrel and had it set up for all of our guests to sign and write messages on. After the wedding he took it to his shop and had it sealed for us. I just cannot describe the service that Brian provides at Barrel Dreams. It was off-the-charts perfect. And believe me, Brian wasn't dealing with an easy customer. As a MOB preparing for my daughter's engagement party, I was a bit . . . tense. I had a vision, but it was hard to describe. Brian worked with me, including having to affect a major change order at the last minute, to create that vision, with uncommon good humor, an artistic eye, and a "can-do" spirit. When it came to the delivery, I asked him (and his crew) to keep moving the tables and barrels around from place to place. Not easy given the weight of the tables Brian made for me, or the barrels themselves. Really, I don't know why he didn't slap me silly. But his goal was for me to pleased with the results. The results were stunning. Good thing too - it went from an engagement party to a wedding reception. I wish Brian great success, and I encourage you to use his services.
