Well, you are missing out! What a delightful surprise to have the meat or the cheese fillings rolled inside tender wrappings that you don't have to cut into with a knife or push down with your fork! People should be lining up for these rarities. I was allowed to order 1 cannelloni and 1 manicotti instead of two of the same, so I was pleased to be so accommodated. Flavorful sauce covering both was excellent too. Another rarity is being served on linen tablecloths anywhere these days, especially in a moderately priced establishment, so that was a nice touch as was the complimentary bruschetta, but why no soft background Italian music to enhance the atmosphere? Our entrees included a small salad or soup, and our salads were crisp and fresh. For dessert we split a pistachio tartufo which was a scoop of gelato rolled in chopped pistachio, and was flavorful, plated well, but very hard and not as creamy as I've had elsewhere--also, the $8.95 price was too steep--I don't believe it was made on-site although it said the desserts were homemade--it may only be referring to the baked goods--the server skirted the question when I asked. We were also dismayed to see that veal is offered on the menu since it's hard to not think about the inhumane practice that veal entails--switch to chicken for all those veal dishes--it would save some money too. It doesn't come with ranch or even ranch-colored dressing, so they might not risk trying a pinkish salad dressing as a dip for their pizza crust. It's a very good salad and helped my vacation digestion, since I'm not used to the 110° August heat. Papa Paul's Pizza is less than a mile away from my room at the Wigwam. Going there would even be walkable in the summer heat if the fences around the Wigwam had pedestrian gates. Hey there! We recently had a few experiences at the Barro's Pizza branch in Surprise that we wanted to share with you. While we love your pizza, we did notice some inconsistencies in the quality of your products. Sometimes the wing sauce can be a bit off, either too dry or overly soaked, and there were a couple times when our pizzas came out a little burnt. We also noticed that the heat level of the wings can vary, which makes us wonder if your staff might need to double check their ingredient measurements. We've shared our feedback with the management, but it seems like it's not always well received, which is a bummer. On a positive note, we really appreciated the switch to Door Dash for delivery, as it made it easy to get credit for any orders that didn't quite meet our expectations. Overall, we believe that consistency and great customer service are key for any business, especially one as popular as Barro's Pizza. We usually try to avoid leaving negative reviews, knowing that not every experience can be perfect. However, after our recent interactions with the management, we felt it was important to share our concerns. Barro's makes the *best* pizza in Surprise, AZ (perhaps in the whole Phoenix area). The crust is magnificent and something about the cheese they use just makes every pizza I try there a delicious treat. Also, dear Barro's visitors, if you find yourself angry that you are waiting in line at this fine restaurant on a Friday night, remember: you're waiting in line because the food is awesome. If you'd rather complain about the wait than be nice to the Barro's staff members, then go to McDonald's and get your food as fast as you want. read more

So far, Barro's is my favorite in Surprise. (Mario's Pizza in El Mirage is really good too.) The pizza here is always consistent. We were told to use the next table as a gift table and later she loudly told us what "we have to do" to get all the gifts off that table as it wasn't hers anymore... after a second server came on board and it got busier. Apps were out before we had to ask for more than 3 app plates we had. Food was out before we had to ask for large dinner plates. Empty dishware was not being removed as emptied. Our table was getting full and piled high with dishware. It was a struggle to lay 3 pizzas out, 4 orders of wings and salads with all the app dishes not removed. I ordered a bottle of moscato. She delivered it, cap on and dropped it on the table like a beer served at a dive bar busy night. For this alcohol I asked for a separate bill from the host of the birthday party. It became gift opening time and our table was full still... she had dropped checks off for the host and myself. I'm sorry, that is my biggest pet peeve.
