We were visiting friends in Surprise AZ. They invited us to join them for the monthly wine dinner on August 26, 2025. The dinner consisted of four courses and a paired wine for each course. My wife was not able to participate due to seafood being part of the dinner. However, she ordered the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce from the regular menu. The dish was tasty and the portion large enough for 2 people. The wine dinner consisted of: Lemon Balsamic Salad with Scallops paired with Sauvignon Blanc. Four Cheese Ravioli paired with Pinot Noir Mahi Siciliani paired with a Red Blend Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Brownie paired with Cabernet Sauvignon This was a lot of food and there was enough for take home. My family and I ordered Uber eats on the Fourth of July before 6 PM. This was our first time at the restaurant and we heard previously the food was good at different locations out of state. We were excited to try the food to enjoy our Fourth of July and the fireworks later that evening. The staff was very friendly at the carry out I once we arrive to the building there was a door on the side to pick up your carry out orders. We explained that we were picking up the order for ourselves for Uber eats We arrived home food was packaged properly and noticed the small portions of the soup and the salad right away . We all had pasta for our entrées with chicken Alfredo and the fettuccine weesie consist of a total of four meals altogether. We all tried our food, and we definitely did not care for the taste and or quality of the food. It was lacking flavor with all of the pasta dishes. My Italian salad. the dressing on the side was oily did not taste good and I did not use it. The only food item we enjoy was the sausage lentil soup. I'm not a huge fan of the salad I ordered on this visit and would have given three stars based on this visit to Carrabba's alone, BUT... I've had some good casual-Italian meals here over the years, so they get an extra star. The Pollo Rosa Maria salad had potential and some tasty looking ingredients! However, it was swimming in salad dressing... and every bite made me feel like I was slowly drowning in dressing... paddling for my life and coming afloat to gasp for another breath and escape from the strong undertow of salad dressing. On the positive side, our server was super friendly and patient with us and we navigated the menu. And there were plenty of gluten-free options available on the menu. The entire country seems to be short staffed; nowhere is this more apparent than in the restaurant industry. We went to this location on a Saturday night at 6:30 and waited a fairly long time to be seated. (We were told 10 minute wait, we waited 45). Once seated another lengthy wait before we even saw a server. Once received the appetizer was decent, free bread with garlic oil was good, food was tasty, hot and in ample portions, drinks were also refilled relatively promptly. Atmosphere is family friendly, although in hindsight, a little pricey for the service and value received. And the staff, who were overwhelmed by demanding adults may have truly crumbled to kid pressure. Maybe this location is not typically busy on Saturday night? Maybe two servers had "called out"? Maybe the restaurant is just not set up to be efficient? It had been a long time since we had visited this chain and now I remember why. There are probably much better Italian fare options in the area, we will check those out in the future. We went there for a birthday and had a great experience.The service is amazing, the Tuscan grilled chicken melts in your mouth. The restaurant is super clean now and the bathrooms perfect. Today I attended my first, and last, "wine dinner" at Carrabba's. Apparently they are trying to compete with Cooper's Hawk (CH) and fall flat. The same wine was served 3 out of 4 times. The Orchard Sangria they have would have made an excellent desert wine and a Chianti would have paired well with the appetizer if they put any effort into pairing the wine with the courses. The glasses weren't even a regular pour, just a sample. There were no free refills like at a CH member's dinner. The menu clearly states that meals are cooked to order, yet no one was asked how we wanted our steak prepared. Tonight food was slung out to us. Not one server asked how our food was. The manager never introduced themself. My steak was so under cooked I had to spit out my first bite because I couldn't chew it. Only after the entree course did the server notice I hadn't eaten my steak and offered to have it re-cooked, but by then the course was over and I didn't want to wait for my dinner while everyone else was eating their dessert. read more

The food was adequate tasting, nothing impressive. The portions are large, so we have leftovers for another meal. It was close to 19 minutes before a server came to our table after being seated. I ordered water with no ice and no lemon. She brought water with ice and lemon. After we ordered two other tables near us were seated. Both of those tables received their food before or at the same time we did. The waitress complained to us about how many tables she had and that she was having to go back and forth. I asked for a refill on my water three times before she remembered. The food was expensive, as it is most everywhere, and the service did not make up for it. Another employee comes and asked me if I shoved the girl. I replied no I just tapped her to ask her a question since her back was towards me. She asked me again. Are you sure? I said no I just tapped her. She then leave then comes back with my order. I understand the staff is under a lot of pressure. It's a busy day. I have worked at a sports bar during UFC and every other sports event so I get how busy it can be and how frustrating customers can be, but I would never accused a customer of assault with no proof. I've changed my review about this place, the food, ambiance and service went from great to mediocre. My family of 5 dined there, we each had our own meal , 3 had water, 2 had a beverage, no appetizer or deserts and our bill was $160. Surprise Carrabbas is not the OCEAN CLUB, or MAPLE & ASH and they are way over priced. Our server was rude because we asked for more bread and butter, she was old over weight and missing teeth, the place was considerably empty and my daughter's salad had 2 pieces of hard plastic in it with sharp edges. We called a manager over and not even an apology, but he did replace it. So sorry CARRABAS but I won't be back until til you change pricing and improve your service. read more

Surprise Location-The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday night. I noticed a woman in street clothes clearing dirty tables, delivering food orders to the tables, resetting the empty tables and bringing glasses of water to the tables. This woman was exhausted but kept moving, even though she looked like she was about to drop. My husband and I finished our meal, but before leaving I stopped at the bar and asked the bartender who the older lady was working so hard? He stated she taking a break and that she was the manager and her name was Carol. Just at that moment Carol came to the bar area. I introduced myself and I told Carol that "I would love to work for a manager like you any day". Carol started crying and told me how my words touched her. Carol said "you don't know what it means to me to hear you say that". I told Carol that where I work we are short staffed many days, but our manager does not help us.
