I've been there twice ( I figured I've give them a 2nd chance) ordered the same pizza " barro's special (w/o mushrooms) . I was severely disappointed both times. Looks nothing like the picture ( yes , I know a lot of food pics are enhanced) but this was like a bad dating profile pic of J-lo and getting shrek . It had 8 cubes of green pepper all on one slice. Pepperoni so thin and tasteless it was like eating crepe paper. The sauce was a red liquid material, the cheese is unidentified to this day ! This was like getting a pizza from a toddler made in an easy bake oven. ! Oh! Also I ordered for pick up and it said ready in 20 minutes. I waited and arrived in 35 min it hadn't even been started yet " due to being busy " you might want to let customers know this before driving around. Now I understand it's Arizona, not Chicago or New York, but damn at least try to be better! Called so called manager to say how spicey the supreme pizza was. My mouth was burning. Two other people I was sharing pizza with said the same thing. When did pizza become a spicey taco? If I wanted a taco, I would've gone to Taco Bell.The pizza tasted awful. The manager offered 25% on another pizza but he can keep that where the sun don't shine. His pizza was awful and he suggested no way to change the pizza without having it burn my mouth. That's just the way it is I was told. Recently went back to try and see how the pizza was. We have been going there for over 10 years. Sad to say the good bread at the end of the pizza (where it is rounded) is no longer there. Asked for Original and got a thin crust and asked for extra cheese. Got charged for it but my husband forgot to check - NO EXTRA CHEESE. We ate one slice and threw it out. Great service, great atmosphere, and consistently great pizza and ranch at Barro's. However, I didn't get the extra sauce I requested on my pie. The celery with the wings also needs to be fresher--green and crisp, not yellowing or limp. I considered giving three stars due to this and two separate issues with an order of wings. Food was excellent! We had meat pizza and cheese breadsticks. Definitely would recommend both. Cashiers were very nice, helpful, and professional. 2nd time dining in tonight and once again had a great experience. My 3 year old has now dedicated this as our "pizza date night" spot. Our food always comes out fresh. It takes a little while to come out but it's worth the wait! There has always been plenty of dine-in seating available when we come in too, even on weekends/evenings, one thing I'm always worried about when going out with a toddler! Negative stars. Disappointed. Disgusted. The workers and managers need to be retrained and re-certified on food handling. I witnessed a worker take off some filthy converse shoes, wipe her dirty socks with her hands and put on some even filthier and dirty Crocs with her contaminated hands and then "handled" my food "WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!" Like no one was paying attention. Then laughed about it. I spent 100$ on that food for my children. Where's the integrity? Definitely not here at this establishment. The managers are too focused on being relevant to tweens and compromise upholding the standards of a company dedicated to excellence. No shot. Pushing 50 & 20 and messing up pizza is crazy. Disappointing to say the least. We ordered 2 pies for pick up, 1 small thin crust veg w/ extra onions & pineapple, and 1 med thin crust Special . We didn't get what we ordered, the med was Regular crust ( waaaaay too much bread, YUCK!), and both had almost no sauce and the toppings on the "Special" (that's a laugh) were as lacking as the sauce. The wife tried a slice or 2 of the veg (the rest went into the trash) and much of the NOTHING SPECIAL ended up in the same place. There goes $40 into the trash, what a bummer. Love, love, love Barro's! This is my local Barro's and I come here every time I'm craving a thicker crust pizza. Located right on the corner of Greenway and Reems, it's in a large shopping area with plenty of parking. It's a busy location (many people eat in here) but I've never had difficulty getting a spot near the restaurant. I've ordered to-go and ate in; both options are great. Their phone and online ordering systems are both super easy (to include customizations). I've never had an issues and my order has always been perfect. I think I've tried every type of pizza on the menu here, but I absolutely love the vegetarian. I don't even miss the meat on this option. It's always so tasty!!! It reheats well next day if you need to take it home, so nothing will go to waste. If you like a thicker crust pizza made to perfection, definitely stop by this Barro's. I called and spoke with a manager and he told me (rather hastily) that he cant see the pizza so it's hard for him to understand my problems.then I told him my husband is a veteran and has PTSD and Parkinson's and dementia and I am unable to clear him alone and my son has gone home so he can't bring it back . I told him it was problems from the start of the order and the person who took the order needed more training . Also I was never given the option of crusts on my GF pizza ( she didn't know what it really was. For over 5 years I think it's been I've enjoyed the gluten free crust at Barros. For some reason the last 3 have been soft, undercooked and just not their standard. This is the 3rd time is happened in my 3rd order. The first they made right, 2nd was take out and today I explained what been happening and said please cool it through, I WILL check it before I leave. I ordered call in and stopped in not 5 minutes later to pay. Shopped Walmart and got back and waited another 40 minutes to pick up a half baked pizza. Please fix whatever the issue is. Barros is known for delicious pizza and hiring employees with great character. We had not been here for a few months. They now offer 2 gluten free crusts! Thin and regular. I asked the gal when ordering by phone if she knew the ingredients. She couldn't tell me. The manager wasn't available. I came to pick up a pizza for myself. Upon picking up they still weren't able to provide ingredients. I called a few days later late evening to make sure they weren't busy. The gal who answered that time was not able to provide the ingredients. She was thoughtful and asked the manager and she said he did not know either. "Check to see if it has anything on line." She stated. Nothing was online so I called the North Scottsdale location where we are building a home we also frequent and they had no issues giving us the ingredients. They also stated they are required to have the ingredients list at all times readily available. Both gf crusts have the same ingredients. Just one is thinner. I love their cheese and sauce. I am not a fan of the new regular crust. Surprising as having such a limited diet I do like more than most. A bit spongy. I live in Texas and come here to work on my dad's house. Every time I come here I have to have a Barro's Pizza. People are always friendly. I order the X large mega meat, this to me is the ultimate pizza. Outstanding flavor, huge amount of toppings. I only wish they had on near me. One more trip to finish the house and it will be my last trip to Arizona. I will really miss this pizza. read more
