It's been years since I've had Barro's Pizza and it certainly didn't disappoint. Pizza was loaded with toppings that I chose and the sauce was excellent. Crust was thick and perfectly toasted. The young man who took my order was polite and helpful on the phone and when I picked up my order. The dining room was clean and spacious with booths and a tv to watch your favorite game. Thanks for the tasty pie Barro's!!

Ordered the MR "B" combo substituting the ham with sausage. BTW their Sausage is the epitome of SAUSAGE which should be the pizza standard. Their Sausage hasn't changed in 50 years! I get mine 'turned twice'. Order it this way if you like it well done. My reason for 4stars is that the sauce needs just a little something. A spike of seasoning or a little tang. Just something. Maybe I should ask for more next time. The Buffalo Wings are delicious, spicy and cooked perfectly

This place brings back so many memories. I worked at one of their locations briefly back in the early '90s. It was a smaller chain with several spots spread throughout Southern California. It was a staple in my neighborhood and I never forgot that thick crust, cheese, and that spicy sweet sauce. About 15 years ago, my friend and I stumbled upon one of the last remaining locations -- and to our surprise, it was the exact same pizza we remembered from our childhood. Now, even though it's about 30 minutes from home, I still make the drive. It's that good. The longtime owner recently retired and handed the reins to a new owner, who couldn't have been more welcoming. He clearly respects the legacy of this place and I really appreciate how he's kept the quality and vibe alive. Indoor seating, which had been closed for some time, is now open again, and it's great to see the place full of life. Same awesome pizza. Same nostalgic experience. Big props to the new owner for keeping a SoCal classic going strong.

Mr Bs pizza was good, crusty and sauce tasty., just expensive for a pizza.

Haven't been here in quite some time. Small eating area indoors. New owner after 43 years. Pizza was good, salad was OK, wings were uneventful and price was outrageous. I acknowledge prices have gone up, but this was too pricey for a casual pizza dinner. Guess I need to keep a lookout for coupons. Food was good, but price not aligned with the food. Rating 3 due to cost, pizza was good though.

Background On Establishment: The last Barro's Pizza location. There's another restaurant that is located in the City Of Walnut that shares the same name, but they're not related. Barro's Pizza Promise ALL OF OUR PIZZAS ARE MADE WITH THICK SICILIAN CRUST ALL OF OUR PIZZAS ARE SERVED WITH 100% MOZZARELLA CHEESE ALL OF OUR SANDWICHES ARE SERVED WITH REAL CHEESE OUR PIZZA DOUGH IS MADE FRESH DAILY NO PALM OILS OR PRESERVATIVES ADDED ALL ITEMS ARE PREPARED FRESH DAILY Background On Visit: Originally, I had my sights on going to Xtra Cheese. After I yelped another place (Barro's Pizza) nearby, I made my decision to go to Barro's Pizza based on how economical the pricing of the pizza's were compared to Xtra cheese. Location/Parking: Major cross streets are Leffingwell and 1st Ave.. Parking can be found up front. Ambiance/Decor: Ambiance is alright. Dining in is not an option and with that said... there's no restroom available. Service: Service was good. George was friendly and offered great suggestions. Pizza took about 15 minutes to come out. Pizza Of Choice: Decided on the mini Mr. B combo specialty pizza ($8.50) which consisted of pepperoni, canadian smoked ham, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. Thought the pizza was very good and they were quite generous with their toppings. Barro's Pizza For Thought: I wouldn't mind go back for more pizza and try out their wings, salad bar, and sandwiches.

Ask the Community - Barro's Pizza

Was this Barros ever in Stanton Orange County in the 80's?

There was a store in Westminster ( Mcfadden & ?) & one in Huntington Beach on Beach Blvd. (Hiway39) I worked there as a driver, cook, and manager/ Was only take out & Delivery, was only open evenings. Owner was Rick Barro. John's son.

Is this the same as the Barro's in Walnut?

No. From what I understand from the owner at this location Is he is the last of the original Barros. Pizza is good.

My mom usually made the classic ham and cheese or turkey and cheese, so sandwiches never felt like something I got overly excited about. Then I tried the Turkado, and honestly... I get it now. That sandwich was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of turkey, lettuce, and that signature sauce. I don't know what exactly is in that sauce, but do they share the recipe? Because there's something about it that makes the sandwich special. It ties everything together perfectly. I also tried the Baja Chicken, and this one honestly proved me wrong. I've never been the biggest fan of chicken sandwiches on that type of bread, but Board & Brew made me question that entire opinion because this sandwich was magnificent. Flavorful, satisfying, and way better than I expected. Now I'm sitting here realizing I probably need to work my way through the rest of the menu because there are still several sandwiches I haven't tried. Board & Brew might have officially turned me into a sandwich guy, and I honestly didn't see that coming.

First off, I came in for two pastrami sandwiches which they promptly came out to me and said they didn't have any more pastrami. The lady was nice and said she would upgrade me to a different type of pastrami that actually cost more. Well whatever this crap was it didn't taste like pastrami at all. I got one soft bread and one crispy bread and the crispy bread could've chipped a tooth on a normal mouth so thank God I've got implants. Both sandwiches were painfully boring and I wish I had something good to say. I'm not sure what was put in my wife's sandwich either when she got explosive diarrhea less than 10 minutes after eating her sandwich? The cold cuts tasted off and I wanna say that they were rotten because I've been burping it all day. Something positive? I guess the store looked nice on the inside? Anyhow, without a doubt I will not be back because if Subway can make a better sandwich than you guys you're in trouble. And subway sucks by the way. Bottom Line Up Front: Eggbred is breakfast food for Gen Z --…read moreand that's not a dig by any means. Let me eggplain... The Background: Eggbred is a fast-food establishment with fast-casual aspirations. You pay at the counter but the meals are handcrafted, so there's a wait similar to a sit-down restaurant. Plus, the prices are higher than a Mickey D's -- $9.79 to $13.99 for sandwiches and $9.99 to $17.99 for burritos, for example. The Food: I ordered the Ribeye California Burrito and it was delicious. The beef was tender and moist, the avocado was fresh, and the cilantro crema was tasty. The lemonade was very meh, unfortunately. The Setting: Located in a smallish strip mall on Harbor Boulevard, it has limited free parking in the front. Not a problem on a weekday mid morning, but I imagine it would be quite difficult to find parking at peak times. Inside, it had a cool, modern aesthetic, but it was small, not ideal for mid to large-size groups. Customer Service: My cashier was friendly and quite knowledgeable, providing an eggcellent recommendation (the Ribeye California Burrito). However, the cook staff took awhile making the food (it took about 20 minutes for my order to come out). The Pros and Cons: So, is the food worth the hype and premium prices? Yes and no. It's essentially a fast-food restaurant charging sit-down prices with longish wait times. Your satisfaction level will depend largely on your expectations: if you're thinking it's fast food, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the care they put into the food and freshness of the ingredients. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting a more premium experience to match the premium prices. The Conclusion: I would need to return to try the other dishes on the menu to give a definitive answer, but based on my first experience I didn't feel like I got enough value for the price I paid and the wait I endured. While I would be open to trying their other dishes, I would not return unless I was in the area by chance.

This is a tough review to write because it appears to be a family-run business, but hopefully the criticism is taken constructively. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt unwelcoming. There didn't seem to be a host or anyone greeting customers. We stood there somewhat aimlessly while employees behind the counter looked over at us without really acknowledging us or explaining where to go. One particularly strange thing we noticed was customers being turned away at the door and told there would be a wait, despite several tables appearing to be open. Then, about five minutes later, another couple walked in and was seated without any issue. Maybe there was an explanation for it, but from a customer's perspective, it was confusing and came across as very inconsistent. Unfortunately, the meal didn't improve things. The food was very bland and lacked the flavor I would expect from a good Italian restaurant. The bread we received tasted stale and was noticeably burnt. For comparison, I would honestly put the overall food quality below what you would expect from Olive Garden. Table service was almost nonexistent. Getting assistance throughout the meal was difficult, and even trying to pay the bill and leave felt like a journey. What concerned me even more was seeing several other customers spoken to in a way that came across as unnecessarily rude. I really wanted to understand why this place has such strong reviews, but based on our experience, I simply can't recommend it. Better hospitality, more consistent treatment of customers, more attentive service, and improvements to the food would go a long way.
