#5 Pepper Cheesesteak - Overall really tasty and one of, if not the most authentic Philly in the city!
    Myles K.

I was never able to try the Barry's location in old Lou cause of parking, the location I wasn't in the area often and tried at least a couple times and they were out of stuff or closed during open hours. Checked out this location down by valley station and luckily they were open! Place was clean and minimal. Cashier wasn't the friendliest and didn't seem to want to be working (As others suggested) but that's not to surprising these days. Prices were overall pretty fair for what you'll get. My regular sandwich was decently sized, but not huge by any means. Would've like a tad more meat and toppings but was still happy with it. The bread was nice and fresh, soft and chewy. I would get the sandwich again with maybe extra meat depending on how much it costs but it wasn't spectacular either by any means. I also got a side fries which were really good! Battered and crispy with a little seasoning on them...Would for sure get those again too. If you're looking for a legit authentic Philly cheesesteak, then this spot is definitely one of, if not the best in the city.

I walked into Barry's cheesesteaks this evening and I've been wanting to try it for a while now. I'm a big cheesesteak guy, so I was excited to try something new. I walked in. It was very nice atmosphere. Ambience was nice nice painted walls floors. It looked really nice in there. I must say the cashier was, not bad she was kind of friendly and joked around a little bit so it definitely isn't the rudest that I've read in the comments from other ladies. Anyway, the food I got a regular meat and cheese cheesesteak. It was $11 and change and I got some mayonnaise on the side just in case. I went out to the truck and I ate my meal. It was three stars I'd say. Meat was a little dry. Wasn't any type of sauce serve very flavorful if I could be honest. I definitely use the mayonnaise on second half of the sandwich it did help it a little more give it a little flavor and a little sauce to it, which the sandwich drastically needed.you know I'll give them another shot to see what else they have but this one sounds like like a three star

So nice to have a new restaurant in my neighborhood. This has been a long wait for Barry's cheesesteaks. We visited in a Thursday around lunch time and there were lots of people there. Barry himself came out to greet customers. He was truly thankful for us coming in. First yes the prices seem a little bit high, but the quantity of food could be two meals. My mom ordered the cheese steak which was packed with so much meat. My son and I ordered the Barry bowl which is cheesesteak over fries. My mom said that the bread was so fresh and so good So so good. I could have eaten of my entree three times. Excited to come back. Stephanie who was working pick up counter was so happy to be there. It was nice to see such a happy employee.

I finally made it to the new location. I ordered the 6-piece wings with B-Rite seasoning and the B-Rite fries. Everything was cooked to order; it took no longer than 15 minutes to get my food. The B-Rite seasoning taste very similar to Grippo seasoning with a little sweet kick to it.

I have been wanting to try this place for a wile and finally decided to take the family one Saturday afternoon. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onions and mushrooms and the fries with the special seasoning (can't remember the name). The cheesesteak was great and the fries were fresh and delicious. You get a ton of fries with an order and the cheesesteak is huge. I had enough to take some fires and half the cheesesteak home for another meal. Yum!

Portions are huge and food is delicious! Best cheesesteak I've had anywhere. The Big Barry can feed 2 people easily, maybe 3.

My neighborhood association had a pop up business day this past weekend and this company was setup manning the grill and selling some of there Philly cheese steaks and other items such as chicken sandwiches. Spoke to the the people who run it while waiting for the food and they seem like genuinely good people and are Definitely local business so it is easy to support that. From my understanding the long term goal outside of catering and pop up events is to grow to a food truck. Which I think would be great. The area needs a good Philly cheese steak food truck. For a sandwich and a bag of chips it ran around $10. Me and my wife both got Philly cheese steaks. I got mine without onions and mushrooms and she got hers without onions only. The steak comes with the meat, Mayo, cheese and ketchup. Decent sized sandwich and while it looked real messy was a pretty clean eat. I'll be honest. I'm not a huge Philly cheese steak guy. I seen this and thought I'll support local and give it a try. To double down on my honesty I was pleasantly surprised. This was a phenomenal Sandwich. Had amazing flavors and the ingredients mixed perfect together. I've tried some other local phill cheese steaks that's people swear by and I never understood the allure. With this one I can get it. Very good! My wife loves her as well. Overall, always great to see new pop up catering or food trucks around the city. Especially ones that offer a different and specialized menu. This place hits both those marks. I look forward to seeing them at hopefully future neighborhood events or just around town somewhere.

**5 Google/Yelp Review -- Sam's Chicago Grill**…read more As a native Chicagoan, I don't hand out praise for Italian beef lightly -- but Sam's earned it. The beef is thin-sliced, slow-roasted, and soaked in real au jus, piled on a roll that actually holds up when you get it dipped. The Chicago dog is done right too: all-beef, dragged through the garden with mustard, relish, onion, tomato, sport peppers, and celery salt -- no ketchup in sight, exactly how it should be. What really sets this place apart is Sam himself. He couldn't have been more cordial, and it's clear he genuinely cares about getting the details right instead of dumbing it down for a non-Chicago crowd. He was happy to talk shop with a fellow Chicagoan and went out of his way to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. That kind of pride and hospitality is rare, and it shows in every bite. If you're missing home or just curious what real Chicago street food tastes like, get to Cane Run Road. Highly recommend -- this is the real thing.

The Cracksticks continue to be my absolute favorite. Even if it's just my small family eating dinner from Danny Mac's, these are a carb-filled, dripping-in-garlic must. And we got a basic pepperoni pizza, though the Hawaiian, Chicken Bacon Ranch and Meats pizzas are also delightful. From the crust to the toppings, everything is consistently perfect. Danny Mac's also has decent beer on tap, or you can get a bottle of Ale-8. A true Louisville food staple. So thankful for it.
