My former stylist no longer cuts hair and suggested I go to Krysta Rojas. I haven't looked back since. Krysta (owner) is amazing! She listens to her Clients and makes suggestions. I find her especially helpful when I want a change but not exactly sure what service I want. There has not been a cut nor color that I haven't liked. I implicitly trust her. In fact, my kids and husband now go to Krysta. Her kids haircuts are adorable. Her men's haircuts are especially great as she works with men's hairline receding issues and makes my husband's hair look fantastic! No one, I mean no one in my family gets their hair cut unless Krysta is behind the scissors!!! Base Salon is also has a contemporary vibe with great music and a glass of wine when you sit down. The artwork on the walls feature Chicago photography and her adorable dog is there. The employees are friendly and helpful - there is never that "salon attitude." Base Salon is truly a gem of a salon. I was never a "salon" person before encountering Base but things changed when I had the pleasure of meeting Krysta and her crew. Krysta is an amazing stylist with a fantastic vision. You give her a couple of ideas and she works her magic, which is really great. The space is so laid back and relaxed. Good energy, no egos and drama free. Jennifer has been doing my hair. She really listens, explains everything she is doing, and has great attention to detail. I never feel rushed. Thankfully she has also repaired my hair from a lot of old damage that I was not previously aware of. Jaunita is an outstanding esthetician and flawless waxer. I have known her for many years and she's a perfect fit to the Base team. Krysta has done an excellent job with the concept and style of her space and the product selection is awesome! Had a great experience. Very cool environment and atmosphere. The owner has a dog and is at the salon, which I think is cute. I specifically came for a wax with Juanita. She is just WONDERFUL. I've been getting wax from her for a while now, and I can't go anywhere else! She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to wax. She knows what she's doing. Waxing can be painful but it really isn't that bad when Juanita does it. Plus, Juanita is so friendly and fun to talk to during my wax session so my session is done so quickly! The location is a bit far from where I live, but I can't think of anybody else to go to for a wax! Worth the drive. read more
