We've had no problems with our AC for the 3 years that we've had it, and then all of a sudden we had what seemed like a leak. Turns out that we had an old filter (we were supposed to change them out each year), so Abraham came out the day after we called him, and replaced the filter at no cost! Late last year our AC/Furnace system went out so we had a few companies come give us a quote. Among the quotes was Abraham at Basic Air. He arrived on time, and had quite a bit of knowledge of HVAC home systems, and his company seemed well equipped to handle a simple swap out of our system to a new one. He performed our home assessment by visually looking at our existing system, calculating out our house footage and listening to our concerns of the current failed system. The quote from them came back to us promptly for an entire new system, this quote was very much in our ball park of what we expected to spend. The other 2 companies we had out, 1 was much cheaper which led me to believe their work may also be cheaper, the other quote was a 2k more, but was offering another Lennox (what we had before new system). We narrowed it down to the two companies, and ultimately chose Basic Air for various reasons: price, knowledge, yelp reviews and personal comfort level. I was able to talk to Vik (Abraham's son) a few times for additional questions. Vik was also very helpful and knowledgeable. One of my concerns with Basic Air was the system they would be installing as I had never heard of the brand ICP or Day and Night. I was a little Leary, however after further research and talking with Vik my fears were settled. After all, ICP makes a variety of HVAC's under different badges AND I have always read that the installation is just as important as the name brand you choose. So, after 15 years with Lennox HVAC system we decided to make the change and hire Basic Air. We were scheduled out about 4 days later. On the day of installation, the crew arrived a half hour early which is good, they had all the correct equipment they would be installing on the trucks. The crew of 2 quickly became a crew of 6-8 people, they put down drop cloths thru the house, they moved picture frames as to not damage either. Before I knew it there was quite a bit of work going on, one outside removing the unit, one in the attic dismantling the furnace, one guy making a larger opening for the larger unit to be installed in attic, one guy getting all the new equipment out of the boxes and ready for installation. They cut up the hall cealing to get the newer bigger furnace & coil. The also quickly dismantled the outside unit and the unit in our attic. Progress was moving very quickly. During removal of compressor outside of house the technician noticed a slight gas smell. He advised me the gas meter was leaking gas. I quickly called the gas company which fixed the leak. This didn't slow the crew down much, they had leveled out my backyard a bit as the new compressor was larger, they ran the new wiring and had the outside compressor installed very nicely. By 4:00 the team was calibrating the system while others were cleaning up. After a trip to the local shop for 2 new grates, we had a working system again. They installed dampers thru the entire system, calibrated it and had me walk around the house to verify. The system worked MUCH better than I expected. The amount of air moving in the house was much more than the previous system. After using it now for the last 3 weeks we see no adverse effects from the system, only positive effects. The house cools much quicker and each room is much more balanced with its airflow. Thank you Basic Air for such a professional installation and a system that we are proud to own. read more

My family and I are very happy with the service and installation provided by Basic Air!! I've been researching HVAC for several years now, even contemplating a DIY install. In the end we decided to get some quotes and weigh our options. After interviewing seven companies...all highly reviewed on yelp, we decided to go with Basic Air. We asked for two quotes from each company. A simple garage install and a custom (very complex) attic install. Not only was Abraham's quote the lowest on the custom install, but he included some of the better equipment. Sixteen seer condensing units and variable speed furnace blowers were included in his already very competitive quote. Any upgrade we discussed, whether it be two stage AC or electronic/media filter upgrades were all offered to me at his cost! When I asked for an extra return line in the in the master bedroom he agreed to it no problem (other's wanted $200/return)! Now I'm not one to always choose based on price alone. That being said, even though his price was the lowest, I don't feel we sacrificed on quality at all. Being an engineer myself, I was constantly over their shoulders (probably one the more annoying customers out there - sorry guys if you're reading this). It was pretty clear to me that Abraham takes great pride in his work. His install team was great and he was overseeing most of the install. Several things he had done over...better. At one point in the install he noticed that the "powder" room in the master did not have a supply register; Abraham installed another supply to this part of the master - without us asking - without charging us extra. He is not interested in shortcuts and understands that growing his business is about delivering quality work. This is the company we've been looking for.
