I am so glad we decided to check out Basil & Co. again! This was actually our third time coming here. The service tonight was just so attentive, and they really made sure we had everything we needed. We already knew we loved the rib eye dish. Once again, it did not disappoint. It comes with this amazing sauce on the side that has the perfect balance of being super tangy with a really great kick to it. We also had the pad thai with crispy tofu and they nailed the texture on the tofu perfectly. But honestly, the real sleeper hit of the night was the papaya salad it came with. It was so incredibly refreshing and crisp that we literally had to order a whole second serving of it because we just couldn't get enough. We were so busy enjoying the dish that I could not even get a photo lol

Date of Visit: 8/30/26 Time of Visit: 5:30pm My family (party of 9) celebrated my wife's birthday at this restaurant. We made the reservation about 2 weeks in advance so that we would not have to wait for a table. The food itself was quite good overall. My favorite dish ended up being the Drunken Noodles with Chicken because it has the right combination of spiciness and flavor. I also ordered their Thai Iced Tea, but it was only ok. It was on the milkier side to me because I typically prefer more tea flavor. My family some times they enjoy the majority of the dishes that were ordered. I also enjoyed the crying tiger, but it's not the best I've ever had, either. Some of the cut of beef were chewy even though the steak was cooked properly to "medium" The staff were super friendly and attentive to our entire party during our visit. They even allowed us to serve our own birthday cake while celebrating my wife's big day. We will definitely come back here the next time we want to have quality Thai food in the Diamond Bar area.

Came here for dinner with my fiancé and his dad and when we first pulled into the parking lot we were like "OMG is this fine dining??" Because of how nice it looked from outside and inside! Parking was easy but I can see it being difficult if you come during peak hours. Inside was beautifully decorated and clean! We put our name down and waited on the seats they had outside. Very conveniently they placed QR codes to their menu so you can start looking at what you want! My family and I are vegetarian but my future father-in-law does not eat onion and garlic for religious reasons. This makes things hard because majority of places rely on onion and garlic for the aromatics! But we saw that Basil & Co was able to accommodate this for us! It makes me so happy! The staff here is so nice and patience and made sure to double check our orders so it wasn't conflicting with our diet! I got the Tom Yum noodle soup (with rice noodle!) my fiancé got their pineapple fried rice with fried tofu, and my future father-in-law got their pad see ew. We were able to share amongst all of us and my goodness, the portions are HUGE. We were so full and stuffed! I really enjoyed the Tom Yum noodle soup! I got it medium spicy (my group cannot handle it too spicy) and it was so good. I loved the sour and spicy and the bits of lemongrass in it really packed a punch! The pineapple fried rice was okay, a bit smokey for my taste and it has raisins with cashews! The pad see ew was yummy, sweet and savory! Price wasn't to bad for our 3 entrees, about $60ish But the portions were huge and the staff was so friendly. Would def come back again!

The food here is really good. The only downside is that the wait can be pretty long. They do have a Yelp waitlist, but it seems like they prioritize reservations, so just keep that in mind before coming. The restaurant itself is really cute, clean, and pretty spacious. It can get a little loud when it's busy, but overall I really like the atmosphere. The pork belly is my favorite and something I get every time I come here. It's so good, and I love how the sauce and cucumber make the dish taste really refreshing. The pork jerky was also good and had a nice smoky flavor to it. The drunken noodles with beef were another highlight. The beef was super tender, tasted very fresh, and went perfectly with the noodles. Everything we ordered was solid, and there wasn't really anything I didn't enjoy. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Felt in the mood for Thai food at the time, so I visited Basil & Co. Overall it was a great experience with great food and excellent service. This has became one of my favorite spots. Went to the store on a Saturday at around 11:30 AM. It was moderately busy but I was able to seamlessly grab a seat for two. Parking was plentiful in the plaza. By the time I left, there was line waiting in front. Pad Thai: Got this with no green onions. The pad thai leans towards the sweeter side. They only gave one lime. We didn't feel it was enough so we asked for another one. Pork jerky: This came with two sauces. One seemed to be more of a vinegar base and the other one was more savory one. Both were good. Jerky was crispy and packed full of flavor. Papaya salad with pork belly: This includes green peas and tomatoes as well. It tasted seasoned well. The pork belly was also crispy. This took a bit longer to come out but worth the wait. (Completely forgot to take a photo since I was looking forward to it too much!) Make sure to ask for the spice tray; I added many spices for an extra kick. American Express is accepted here.

I've been wanting to come here for some time and finally made it in for lunch with a coworker. Very busy, almost a little chaotic. I wasn't thrilled with the hands-off ordering approach by scanning the URL on the table and then placing your order. I'm old school and like a menu and waiter/waitress to assist me. They reluctantly acquiesced to our request, and our food was ordered. FOOD: We started with the 8-piece Crispy Wonton ($8.99) appetizer, filled with chicken and shrimp and a sweet/sour dipping sauce. For entrées, we ordered the Hot Basil Chicken ($17.99) and the Red Duck Curry ($22.99), both served with steamed white rice. Everything was delicious, although the prices were higher than other Thai restaurants in the area. Overall, it's a nice place, albeit busy, so you might have a wait to be seated. Food delivery was quick, and the dishes were tasty. I'm sure we'll be back again.

    Crying Tiger (20 Mins)
    Nytasha A.

First time going here and the food was really good! We got the hot basil with crispy pork, spicy fried rice, corn salad and the crying tiger. The menu does say that the crying tiger takes 20 minutes to make but it came out faster than I expected. All of the dishes were really flavorful. We also got mango sticky rice for dessert. Everything was flavorful and the service was good too. They were kinda busy and initially said it would be a 25 minute wait but we got in within 10-15 minutes. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely come back!

Made another stop with a different group of colleagues, and happy to share that this place is still a great option for delicious Thai food. I really appreciate the great service offered by every single server, they were super attentive and accommodating. Also huge shout-out for accomodating vegan food restrictions, they were able to modify the spicy fried rice completely vegan and the spicy level was just right. Parking is a bit challenging so be patient or try parking on the street.

    Pad See Ew
    Susan G.

I can't believe it has taken me this long to discover a Thai restaurant like this one that delivers such authentic flavors in every dish. I tried their pad see ew, yellow pumpkin curry, house fried rice, and Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Literally, every dish was seasoned to perfection. The quality in their ingredients is definitely evident in every bite. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very inviting. It does get busy so there can be a wait especially during peak dinner hours. I highly recommend this place for delicious Thai cuisine. I can't wait to come back soon!

    Papaya Salad
    Zoey W.

The food, interior, and service are absolutely incredible, while being quite fairly priced! Absolutely recommend. The pad thai is the best in socal (dare i say), with great texture on the noodles. No notes! The papaya salad also tastes exactly as it should, and is very delicious. The fried catfish is also very good, and maintained its crispiness throughout the meal. The mango sticky rice is a little pricey, however the sticky rice is incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food is very very good. I don't believe there is a dish you can go wrong with!

    Drunken Noodles with Chicken
    Caes F.

Basil & Co is quality you can taste. Diamond Bar does have some diamonds. I love the way they prepared the Drunken Noodles and appreciated how hot the dish was. The flavors were loud and unapologetically delicious. $17.99 This dish alone was a five star experience. It was my favorite :) The Crispy Rolls are not bad, definitely needed a stronger fish sauce with some lettuce but then the prices creep up. $12.99 Everything was tasty and piping hot! Enjoyed my dinner here.

    Mango Sticky Rice
    Emily T.

I visited Basil & Co on a Tuesday for lunch and it was very busy but we were seated promptly. We ordered the drunken noodles, papaya salad, and mango sticky rice. The portions were deceptively large, they are very generous with their servings. My favorite was the papaya salad, which was very refreshing and perfect for the summer heat. My friend loved the drunken noodles the most, since they had a bolder flavor with more of a kick to it. You can never go wrong with their mango sticky rice. The mango is sweet and ripe, and the sticky rice is very coconutty and flavorful. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming back here and trying more of their extensive menu!

Made to order | Thai tea
    Andrea A.

This meal is worth the wait! Even at 8PM on a Friday, we waited 30 min for a table, and it was packed inside! With just 2 of us, we were seated at a four-person table. Any smaller of a table would've been a tight fit for all our food. It is very aesthetic inside with modern decor with a casual feel. Service was attentive, and ordering was quick and easy. We ordered a Thai tea, pad Thai with chicken, and yellow pumpkin curry with beef. The Thai tea was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. From our table, we saw the drinks being made to order. As for the food, the Pad Thai was delicious! The chicken was juicy and tender, and it looked like they used chicken thigh instead of the typical chicken breast. The sauce was perfectly balanced without being too sweet or salty, and I loved that the vegetables were still fresh and crunchy. The yellow pumpkin curry was just as good with rich flavor! The beef was tender, and the chunks of pumpkin added a subtle sweetness and great texture. I also liked how it came with a generous side of rice. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed. I can easily see why this place is so busy. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area to try the other dishes on the menu, like the papaya salad with crispy pork.

We started with the pan-fried pork buns, shumai, crystal shrimp dumplings, xiao long bao, and cartoon sweet custard buns. Everything is made from scratch in their kitchen, which got us excited right away--so many places just steam frozen items and the freshness just isn't there. There's a big window into the kitchen so you can actually watch the chefs making each item specifically for you. The decor inside is trendy and really adds to the experience. There are flowers on the wall that are actually sewn with thread creating designs--unlike anything I've seen before. The seating is all in great shape and not neglected at all. Each table is stocked with soy sauce, black vinegar, chili sauce, and garlic. The staff is friendly and attentive. There's a giant projector screen that comes down along the wall with a projector and LED lighting throughout. I asked and they said they can do karaoke, and they also played World Cup games on it. There are several TVs playing various sports as well. Pan-fried pork buns - 10/10 This was my first time ever having them pan-fried and I'm glad I listened to the waiter's suggestion. The dipping sauce elevated the dish and brought it full circle. Being pan-fried gave them a slight crisp that was perfect. Shumai - 10/10 Just delicious. Crystal shrimp dumplings - 10/10 These were made fresh. I've had these at other dim sum places and it's been hit or miss--sometimes soggy, sometimes the wrapper is hard. That wasn't the case here at all. Perfection wrapped around shrimp. Xiao long bao - 10/10 I've had dumplings at places like Din Tai Fung, and I honestly believe these are better. The broth inside was bursting with flavor and the exterior was fresh and made perfectly. I'll be dreaming of these. Cartoon sweet custard buns - 9/10 These were delicious and so cute. The only thing I would have changed is giving the inside a bit more custard (personal preference--some people might think the balance is perfect). The rest of the bao was cooked perfectly, so soft, and the design made the experience that much more memorable. I highly recommend eating here. This is going to be one of our regular spots from now on.

The…read morefact that they were participating in Dine LA was a trigger, to make another visit there for lunch. I tried to invoke the dinner menu, but they were not willing. Not a problem, the lunch menu was equally enticing. A 2-course offering for $25. I started with the Thai Prawn Ceviche. This course was wonderfully balanced, not too acidic, also a nice touch of sweetness and plump flavorful prawns. For the main, my selection was the Beef Truffle Wok-Seared Noodles. I was delighted that they were round noodles and they arrived at my table stirred in a dark sauce with sliced beef pieces on top. A small porcelain decanter was also supplied, containing the truffle oil. I poured it over my noodles. The beef was tender, moist and could be cut with the usual provided table knife. The whole dish was a winner, from start to finish. Service here, as expected, was well executed. Need to be aware of the parking though. There is a public garage around the corner that is advertised for this establishment and a few others. Problem is, that Star Leaf validates only for 1-hour, while their neighbors do so, for 2-hours. I addressed this issue with the manager at my last visit and this time too. The answer I got was not convincing to suggest that they care, or will do something about it, anytime soon. Oh well.

"I hate to do it, just as bad as you hate to see it done, now calm your boys" As a a non-seafoodie, I entered with trepidation...as soon as I stepped in, the stench of seafood hit me in the face, oh no...I had a strong inkling of what was to come. Disclaimer: Had I not been part of a large gathering that was coming here, I doubt I ever would have come to this buffet. Pros: They had the World Cup playing on a "2017 New" 36ish inch TV with the tags still on it The food was mostly hot The cream cheese wontons were delicious, creamy, and crispy Cons: I tried like 11 items, and only the cream cheese wontons were hittin'. Out of the 11 items I tried, only 3-4 items were passable as decent The food was salty The black pepper chicken tasted like fish The food ended up giving my bubble guts the bubble guts-SHEESH! While there were loads of offerings, which I appreciate, the organization of said offerings were a bit strange. The hibachi was set-up going left to right, while the food stations on either side of it were going right to left, creating this crazy clash of people heading in opposite directions. It just wasn't for me.

The squeeze of lime was perfect to cut through the richness of the sauce and beef and I will come back just for this dish for sure. 10/10 Garlic string beans: cooked nicely and garlicky and was very satisfying. That said I think there could have been some extra savory notes to make it better, thaif said still very enjoyable. 8/10 Basil fried fish: spicy and sauced up fried fish with Thai Basil and jalapeños. This dish had a ton of fish and still had some crunch to it even though it was covered in that simple delicious sauce. 8.5/10 Seafood hong kong chow fun with gravy: healthy portion of sauced up noodles with a bunch of shrimp, imitation crab, and squid. Overall it was enjoyable but could have used some more imparted flavor. I am interested to come back and try the dry version or possibly the fried noodle version of the dish as opposed to the gravy version. In short, the food was delicious overall and would be happy to come back and try more things on the menu. Everyone else in the restaurant ordered the big giant lobsters and they looked amazing. I will definitely come back to try it out as well as other items.

I remember the Newport Special Lobster being full of flavor and having an amazing aroma. This time, though, it seemed to be lacking a little bit of everything--it just didn't have the same depth and flavor I remembered. The seafood hot & sour soup was also underwhelming and didn't meet my expectations. On the positive side, the service was good and the staff were attentive and friendly. Hopefully the food can get back to the quality I remember from my previous visits.

Warm, tender, and juicy, with a sauce that had a nice tang and brought some brightness to the dish. The Garlic Prawns were very garlicky, and the flavor was definitely there. That said, they were quite salty on their own, especially since I don't usually eat my meals with rice. I'm also not a huge fan of shell-on prawns, but the taste was still enjoyable. My favorite dish of the night, though, was the Beef Ribs. Probably some of the most tender and juicy ribs I've ever had. The ambiance is dark, moody, and cozy, which made the whole dinner feel intimate and comfortable. Service was also so attentive throughout the night.

My…read morepersonal favorite was the raw oysters - very fresh and the blueberry sorbet thing on the side was def very new to me. Was very refreshing for a hot day in LA. Calamari was not what I was expecting but a pleasant surprised - it tasted similar to nuoc mam wings but buttery and lighter. The chicken satay skewers were also very yummy. I really liked the pickled tiny onions on the side (they should add more than two imo). We also got the fried rice and wagyu but that wasn't very worth it in my opinion - for the price you pay extra for the meat and the portion/quality of meat it didn't feel worth it. Overall the place was good but I wouldn't say it was worthy of coming again unless a friend really wanted to try it.

Positives -reasonably priced, they have good lunch combos and bbq combos that come with Thai tea, rice, and a salad. Great value if you wanna scratch that Thai tea itch. -the tom yum soup was very good, we came during a crowded lunch hour and every other table had it. You can tell it's a great spot when the local Thai people show up. We like the pad thai too, just the right amount of tang without being salty. -service was very good for a very crowded lunch hour. The ambiance is a little loud, but it means everyone is enjoying their food and having a great time. Good space for large crowds and not too tight. The restaurant is tucked in a little corner, but when you know good Thai you know it doesn't matter. Overall 5/5 we came back twice during the same week and got the pad thai twice!

The flavor was very good but the beef itself was tough and chewy and the potatoes were way undercooked and crunchy. The interior of the restaurant was cute. But I was just there to pickup and go home. The guy that gave me my food wouldn't hand it over until he made sure that I was who I said I was, which meant that I had to open up my DoorDash app and prove that I placed the order. Honestly hate when restaurants do this because I already told you what my name was and that I ordered thru DoorDash. I'm not some food criminal. Overall, the taste was good, but food quality was just okay. Most likely won't come back, I don't live in the area anyways.
