I love Vietnamese food and seek it out whenever I travel. It was not the best I've had but a Solid Vietnamese restaurant. I will give them great credit in that the service was solid and fast while they were packed. Something I won't give my personal favorite restaurant in VA or CA. Which have them a star that I was not sure I wanted to give. They lost a star on the spring rolls. The shrimp and pork spring rolls were clearly made a little too far ahead since they were a bit tough, chewy, and stuck together. You can really tell when the rice paper has been wet the sat longer than it should. The flavor was good you just had to fight for it a bit. The pho was solid. Potions were large, the veggies were fresh, and the meat was a great blend of fat to meat. I could have used more tripe but that may just be me personally. The broth was great and I drank it up but I have had better. To wrap it up it was still a good dinning experience. If I lived here I'm sure I'd be back. I might even come through again before I leave. read more

I never had Pho before and I was scared to give it a try. One day for lunch I went with a co-worker and and loved it! The broth was delicious and the chicken and great! I'm super picky about the quality of chicken and I was pleasantly surprised with theirs. Came into this Pho restaurant and was happily welcomed by a fresh interior and an ammaazing aroma. Not only is their interior lookin fresh, but their food is SUPA fresh. Ordered their fresh shrimp rolls - not too small, noodles cooked well, and their peanut sauce was light and added just enough flavor to the rolls without being overpowering. Their Grilled short ribs rice plate: meat was very tender and seasoned perfectly and their sauce to go with the meat was a perfect blend of sweet and fish sauce. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... THEIR PHO! Wow... I can confidently say this is the best Pho place I've ever been to. Their BROTH is what I would come back for... everyday. So tasteful, perfect blend of spices and herbs, and you feel super CLEAN after drinking the broth (no need to chug a bunch of water). I really like this place. I grew up with pho as a comfort food- it was a thing I lived on in college particularly- and I'm kind of picky. This place does a good chicken broth, it isn't drowned in MSG and is tasty in it's own right. Lots of meat. The thing that really made me happy, especially for Everett, was the fresh rolls. Tender and indeed very fresh wrapping, nicely cleaned prawns, perfect proportions of veggies to meat. And the dipping sauce? Especially good. Either house made or higher quality pre-made; frankly I don't care which since it is way better than most. Banh mi are tasty, too. I'd nitpick that my particular taste would prefer smaller julienned veggies but really quite generous with the meat. (I'd love an option for egg and/or pate, and would definitely pay extra for it!) The baguettes are just right. I've never stepped foot in this restaurant actually. I've just Uber Eats to get it, but that option has made me a loyal customer and I've recommended it highly to folks who live in Everett. So many pho places in Everett have fallen short but this one is my favorite in a long time. read more

Pho broth has very little flavor, and my Banh mi sandwich (the only thing I ordered) was forgotten last time so I waited 30 minutes after my husband's food arrived to receive my food. We have previously ordered to go from this restaurant and had good experiences with the pho, not so much the other dishes. We decided to try to dine in last Saturday and thought the pho should taste good and perhaps the other dishes might have improved since the last time we tried it...... So we ordered spring rolls and egg rolls as appetizers and bun (vermicelli with egg rolls) and pho for dinner. Spring rolls: The rolls themselves were fine, however the peanut sauce tasted awful. I don't know how they can consider themselves authentic when this comes nothing close to what traditional peanut sauce tastes like. Everyone knows spring rolls are only good depending on the sauce. FAIL. I'd rather make my own spring rolls at home then pay for what I ate that night. Pho: Flavor has completely changed, perhaps new cook. In any case, pho is no longer good and has not stayed consistent. I can tell you I know good pho when I taste it cause I'm Vietnamese and can cook pho myself. The broth also came out luke warm. The whole idea of cooking your meat with the broth goes out the window if your soup is luke warm. Bun: Fish sauce bland and tasteless. I would eat my own homemade fish sauce over there's x100. Overall, we will no longer visit this establishment. Maybe we might give them another try later on down the road, but as of now there are too many other pho places in the area that stay consistent and taste better to return here. Update: Gave them another chance through a to go order. Upping review to 3 star for flavoring of soup. Pho broth is good, it needs to be piping hot (reheated on stove at home) so ordering to go is probably your best option unless you ask them to make sure your soup is piping hot EVERYTIME. However, cross contamination is a concern when they packaged all the raw veggies with raw meat!!! Fish sauce is still extremely bland. No changes there. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend who's married to a Vietnamese gentleman. The restaurant is very clean unlike other Vietnamese restaurants. They were semi-busy but we got seated right away. The server was very attentive and super friendly. The pho we all had ordered came out right away and were piping hot.....very delicious. My son ordered the grilled chicken with rice, and the white rice was fried - not Chinese fried rice kind, but fried by itself- it reminded me of the Filipino-type fried rice w/ sauteed garlic; needless to say it was very yummy! As soon as I walk in, I am immediately impressed. The restaurant's interior design is well-thought out -- Anthony Bourdain quote, very nice geometric designs and plant arrangements on the walls, stainless steel tables, etc. The whole ambience of the place has a very clean and modern feel to it! For the food, I ordered a #9 "CHIN" - Well Done Brisket. The flavor of the broth was perfect and the noodles were cooked just right! Brisket was also nice and soft and did not have any fat on it--just the way I like it. I ordered a regular size and man the size of this bowl is like getting a large at most Vietnamese restaurants! This is definitely worth the $7.95!! Great price!! Service was very fast and friendly as well! Our waitress (Anna I believe was her name) had a joyful smile and seemed like she really enjoyed serving others! This place is by far the best pho my family and I have ever had! It's delicious. It's really hard to find vegetarian pho but this place has it and is so so amazing! Plus this place is neat and clean. Super cute decor loved the Anthony Bourdin quote on the wall. So so sweet, I also really enjoyed all the cute boards emphasizing pho gives it a fun and creative touch. The staff are wonderful and very efficient. We live in Arlington but will be going back to Basil as much as possible especially with rainy season approaching. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a delicious bowl of pho at a great price and a clean and fun atmosphere. They also have lots of other options for foodies which is awesome and to top it all off there is a brewery next door which is family friendly. Definitely one of the best pho north of Seattle. I thoroughly enjoy the pho here. Especially the special pho. It comes with a ton of meat. That makes me happy. The service here is really good. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. One of the things I dislike about pho restaurants is the atmosphere. But this place has it down. Theres not much to complain about but if I have to the only complaint that I have is the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It definitely doesnt takes like its fresh. It taske like they make it in the morning and keep it in a industrial thermo container. Vietnamese coffee is one of my favorite drinks to enjoy with my pho. So it was disappointing that it didn't taste fresh. I've never seen them make it so I could be totally wrong. But I'm pretty sure I know my Vietnamese coffee. Overall, I love this place. read more

I started my love for Vietnamese food just over 15 years ago when I was stationed near Phoenix, Arizona. An ex-boyfriend took me to one and it was love at first bite. Since then I have been all over the country (thanks, Air Force) and had some pretty amazing Vietnamese, but Basil takes the cake...or should I say, "The pho"? Basil's food is amazing! I've literally been here 4 times in the last 2 weeks! If my metabolism allowed, I'd come back SEVERAL times a week. If you like Vietnamese, you need to try basil. I've had my fair share of pho & the one thing that makes or breaks a bowl of pho for me is the broth. I've had authentic broth from the motherland of Vietnam from south to north and broth that's been simmered for 10+ hours & I have to say the broth at this particular place is one of the best I've had. It's different but a good different & I can't pinpoint what it is exactly but the broth does not disappoint. Overall I like the feel of this new joint. It's a nice bright open space and the staff are amazing and super friendly! My husband just moved here from Vietnam a year ago & he's been on the hunt for good pho & I think he has found it. OH! And their dessert the liquid that the dessert is in is really good! I'm usually scared or can't handle anything with too much coconut milk BUT this is a nice light dessert that I enjoyed very much . It's reasonable priced for a appetizer, 4.95 and I shared a chicken Bun Mi. The soup was sooooooooo bomb with their homemade crack chili paste sauce. Oh my that sauce is so bomb. A regular bowl costs around $8, while a large costs around $9. It may be a dollar or two over the price of other local pho spots, but it's well worth it! The portions are great, I couldn't even finish a regular size even though I normally get a medium size at other local pho spots like Than Brothers or Pho Asia! SERVICE: The customer service was great! Our server was kind and attentive, and we got out food fairly quickly. ENVIRONMENT: Basil takes on a more modern look: there is no dirty fish tank at the front door, and the restaurant is spotless! Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We've been to Basil twice and will keep going back. The pho has some of the best broth we've found north of Seattle, and that alone is enough to make us repeat customers. Our favorite item on the menu is the chicken banh mi, though. The chicken is thin, perfectly grilled, the veggies (including jalapeños) are fresh and crispy, and the bread is absolutely perfect. The service has been friendly and fast both times we went, and the prices are very reasonable, which is a bonus. Parking can be a little tricky on weekends and evenings because of the microbrewery next door, but it's worth jockeying for parking to have a great lunch or dinner. read more
