    Calamari

I wish I could give a 3.5, but I can round up to a 4 based on the service. Our waiter was outstanding. Great attitude and although there was a mistake made with our order, he fixed it and was super apologetic. The calamari was good, not great, but decent. We tried the taramousalata and it was also just okay, a little too tart and pink, which was kind of off putting. I was able to order the zucchini chips with skordalia that I had seen in help even though it wasn't on the menu. Like I said, our waiter was very accommodating. The chips were good, the skordalia was super garlicky mashed potatoes that could have used some salt and acid. We split the skirt steak and I had asked for the grilled veg to be substituted with Lima beans. We got to try both because they forgot about the substitution, then brought the beans a little later. We should have stuck with the grilled vegetables. The Lima beans were beautiful, but really needed salt. Overall, atmosphere was great, restaurant was clean and the waitstaff was very pleasant. The food needs salt and other seasoning adjustments, and it would be perfect.

Basil's is just okay. You'll get huge portions of mostly flavorless food. We tried Basil's Chips (thinly sliced zucchini, deep fried and served with your choice of skordalia or tzatziki - $14). Nice texture, but not much flavor. For dinner, I had the Grilled Lemon Chicken (bone in, half chicken with olive oil, lemon, garlic served over sautéed spinach garnish with a side of roasted potatoes - $26). I tasted the lemon, but not much else. It needed seasoning in a bad, bad way. I tried two cocktails and both were awful. The Fall Sangria and Fall Fashioned tasted like they were thrown together without anyone sampling the finished product. I didn't hate Basil's, it just wasn't my cup of tea. If someone suggested a return visit, I'd probably urge an alternative.

Beautiful little Greek place in Aurora. Food wise may be the dinner portion was too big for us. Good service though. Friendly staff. I would recommend the restaurant if you are in the area.

We are always treated so good here. I had a taste for lamb chops and the lollipop chops were a touchdown. Cooked to perfection, medium rare for me. Greek potatoes pair nicely. Lamb shank was also enjoyed by my parents. Made for a great birthday/Easter celebration. Looking forward to dining al fresco soon. They have a wonderful patio.

Beautiful sculpted building with lights wrapped around columns giving it an elegant feel. I started with a Fall Sour. The petite lamb kabob platter was okay. Service was great.

What a very nice restaurant located in the outter ring of the Fox Valley Mall with plenty of free parking right outside the door. The restaurant was beautifully appointed making the ambiance very relaxing and the service from when we walked in the door until we left was outstanding. We were there in the middle of a Saturday afternoon when it was pretty calm, but I have been there during their busy time, and the service was outstanding then as well. The bread served on the bread board at the start of the meal was very good and was especially good with the Avgolemono Soup. I am not real sure I would order the Chicken Parm again as the chicken seemed a little over processed. The Mousaka flavor was very good but the vegetables in it were cut rather large so they were not done to my liking and I needed a knife to eat it. One person at the table ordered the side of grilled vegetables and really enjoyed them. The Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was really enjoyed by the person who ordered it. Vodka Gnocchi was very good nicely sauced and cooked to perfection. The restaurant including the restroom is easily navigated when using an assistive device for mobility.

if you like Greek food hit up basil's for an authentic experience. they bring bread olive oil and cheese to the table. The saganaki and zucchini chips were really good. Zucchini chips come in big portion easily can feed 3 to 4 people. I liked that they don't rush you to order quickly. the spinach spankopita and veggies was delicious. great experience overall

For being in the Fox Valley area, this place was pretty decent for lunch. Prices aren't terrible. Service was good. It wasn't busy. Gyros were very good. Portions are huge. Tarama (red caviar) with pita bread was a nice appetizer. I typically don't eat too much fried food, so I would just skip the deep fried zucchini. The lamb mac and cheese mostaccioli was a little salty. That's why I look off one star. However, there was a generous amount of meat in there.

Wow! All the food was fresh & delicious! Service was great & their patio is beautiful! Who knew! Such a gem! We shared the flaming cheese then I had the spinach & cheese pie with grilled vegetables...chef's kiss! They brought a dessert to table as celebrating two birthdays, which was an orange custard. Amazing!

Food is too bland for our taste. The Lamb roast had no flavor/ salt neither did salmon. Kids didn't like their gnocchi either.

I chose the Chicken Koobideh which was so juicy, I was shocked! I've had good Koobideh, but never this juicy and tender! Strong flavor, and hint of saffron, a true delight. I also ordered the Ghormeh Sabji - which is a soya (dill) based green stew with meat and beans, and when it first comes to the table, you're thinking this looks and smells like henna paste, but the taste is so beautifully complex - savory, bitter, buttery, and pure deliciousness in every bite!!!!! A must try for something different. Husband ordered the lamb shank, and it was tender and fall off the bone! The meat was soft and unctuous. It was served with this roasted garlic bulb that was roasted to perfection, taking the harshness of the garlic away and replacing it with a soft, buttery, jammy garlicky goodness that is to DIE for!!!! Lastly, my mom got the lamb and beef Koobideh and said it was soft and juicy as well. After food, we had their tea and it is absolute perfection. I take mine sweetened, but even unsweetened my mother found it perfect! Lastly, don't sleep on the DOOGH! That's that fermented yogurt drink that is tart, salty, and super refreshing! I almost didn't even wanna tell yall about it, but I reminded myself that gatekeeping is a cardinal sin! And finally, the ambiance and the service is AMAZING. So gracious, so soft spoken, so generous and just kind to boot. The food is delicious but I'd come back just to see these smiling faces!!!

What a true gem of a find!…read more This is a small place in a small strip mall. The manager and the food are outstanding! My husband ordered a chicken and rice dish, I ordered the vegan dill rice. Very few places serve dill rice, but it delicious and one of my favorite foods. I rarely cook dill rice, because of how time-consuming preparing dill is to separate from the stems. The manager came by to ask how our food was, to which I replied, "Excellent, but this dill rice has no lima beans or fava beans." He informed me that he has had customers that are allergic to lime beans, but is happy to include them if they are requested when ordering. He also said that they will make any menu item modification when requested. They have a menu board as well as QR code menus. Top place for people of any dietary need/choice!

This is a nice, small Middle Eastern market compared to Souq Fresh Market in Lombard. Souq is very big. This market has a lot of unique Middle Eastern snacks that I've never seen before along with a kitchen that you can order lunch and dinner from. Lunch is served 10 am - 2 pm. I believe dinner is served from 2 pm to 9 pm. Don't quote me on the end dinner times. They have 3 tables that you can eat at. I came after 10:20 am and I ordered the chicken kufta lunch special, two different kinds of samosa, and kebabs. Prices were cheap, I got all of this for $25. They also have an area where you can get some fresh meat and deli items. Staff was friendly. Overall 4 out of 5. If they fixed the kebabs, it would easily be a 5. -chicken kufta lunch special 5 - he made this fresh. You get one pita bread with it. Meat was soft and tender. The rice and salad were very tasty. Huge portion. -samosas 5 - I got one beef and one potato. They were both delicious. -kebabs 3.5 - he gave me two big kebabs but they did not taste freshly made. I'm no stranger to kebabs and I usually like my kebabs to be tender and juicy. These were semi tough and kind of dry inside. I can see the spices in them but they would taste even better new.

All yummy, though I found the Youvetsi overly salty, but the underlying grill flavor was divine. I had the gyros, which was huge, crispy, and some of the best I've ever had. Even the tomato was so fresh I'd have thought they picked it just for me. Ended up with banana cream napoleon and bougatsa for dessert. The service was beyond amazing, and food was hot. Only downsides... rather than raising prices they tack on an extra 3% that sneaks in the bill. And the prices were already very high. ($260 before tip). We were also charged $2 more for the dip trio than was on the menu. And while I know it's common these days, it was very noisy. I'd recommend eating outside if the weather allows, if you want to have conversations. We'll still go back though. Just not often for that cost.

Even though the meat was not cooked to medium rare, it was tender around the grizzle. I ended up spitting out the pieces I couldn't chew. Not really ladylike, but my teeth just couldn't work through the tough and stringy pieces. This visit was disappointing. The highlight was being with friends. My salad was just meh.
