Small (not enough space to sit large groups), clean, fair prized, welcoming restaurant. Both the staff and owner are pleasant. The gyros were authentic and the crispy fries were a winner. They have two types of fries. I chose the crispy fries. Delicious, no fuss good food at a very fair price. If that's what you're seeking, this restaurant is your destination. I was a little nervous going due them being empty and they seemed a little unwelcoming. But they toke my order and it came out fast about 15 minutes. The garlic bread is so good. I got the chicken Alfredo, it was good but it had no real taste to it. Maybe salt or Parmesan cheese.. I also go the stuffed shells now that was excellent. I would order that again and again. Hey, I give this place 3 stars. I wasn't able to use the 15% off check-in because the cashier told me it's only for online orders. He said his boss looks at stuff like that so he will not be able to give 15% off first-time visit. I said no problem. The check-in process was confusing because it said for pick up, but whatever. I ordered a personal pizza, went in to pick up the pizza and the fat lazy owner wouldn't acknowledge me until 15 minutes later, he kept picking up phones. Been going here for close to 20 years mainly due to lack of nearby options. quality has been ok but recently the pizza has not been good. Rubbery. Today they confused my order with another and kept me waiting an extra half hour. I mentioned that half the people I had ordered for would not even still be there to have their food I was told never to call again. This is my first experience with this restaurant, with that I recently placed an order through the restaurants website. Upon checking out I was redirected to Slice a third party to complete and pay for my order. I dozed off after receiving a message indicating that my delivery time would be much later because they were busy. I recieved one phone call from the delivery person which unfortunately I missed. I did not get my order although it had been paid for. I called the restaurant and explained and was given a number to call Slice. I spoke with a representative and after my explanation I was asked to hold while the rep confirmed with the restaurant. While I waited I remembered a similar incident with Grub Hub and thought hmmm, Grub Hub reimbursed me so there's no issue, but I was totally incorrect as I was told that the restaurant will not honor my reimbursement. Now I must take time to file a small claims against the restaurant for $33.02. read more

I got a veggie burger, those delicious seasoned fries, mozzarella sticks, and chocolate cake (not as good as I'd hoped but okay). Tonight we tried again. We placed our order and after nearly 2 hours we finally decided to call with the grand WTF. Our order hadn't even been prepared yet. 2 hours later. We ordered freakin' sandwiches. I could've driven to Giant, bought all the ingredients, cooked them up, and had our mushrooms, gyro, and chicken parm sandwich in less time. The killer,and what has ended our brief time as patrons of Basil's,was the total indifference from the folks at Basil's. No apology. No offer of free or comped food. No "we can get this to you ASAP." Hell, they OFFERED to just cancel the order. Basil's is clearly just another lethargic business sinking into apathy. Based on older reviews, they may have once been decent. But now? I'm sorry to have to revise my review. My last two visits to Basil's have been disappointing, and I won't be back. The visit before last, about a month ago, the employee at the front counter was sitting on a stool. Rather than getting up to greet me and take my order, he sort-of scooted his chair over to the register. I felt as if my presence there was an interruption to his TV watching. When I got my pizza, it didn't seem nearly as good as the first couple of times. Maybe the taste was tainted by my annoyance. Last night, I decided to give Basil's another try. The order taker was a woman (my impression was that she might be the owner), and she was pleasant enough to me. Unfortunately, while I was waiting for my burger, she got into a loud argument with one of the staff. They started on one topic, and then segued into another. At one point, the cook loudly exclaimed what a b*tch one of their customers was. (A customer who had complained about a charge card discrepancy.) The unpleasantries lasted until I left. The burger was okay, but was a small patty on an oversize bun. My appetite had been ruined by witnessing all of the drama. All-in-all, it was a miserable experience. Never again! read more
