Straightforward, friendly service here. Never had an issue. You know what to expect when coming to any Baskin Robbins. Plenty of samples and there is always at least a couple of flavors you're bound to love. Cakes can be pricey. I prefer the cakes that are all ice-cream versus the ones that are a combo of ice-cream + cake --- the cake part tends to be a bit dry. Make sure to sign up for their birthday rewards program. This is our go to ice cream shop. Normally I have nothing bad to say but I have had the same thing happen on 2 occasions that is completely unacceptable. We come her at least once a week. I like to get hot fudge topping but I hate putting it directly on the ice cream because by the time I get home, the ice cream is melted, so i always ask for it on the side. 99% of the time i have never had a problem with that. The two times I have sent my son to pick it up, as soon as he asks them to put it on the side, they tell him they can't do that and if he wants the tiny amount of hot fudge on the side, they would have to charge him $5. WTF? $5 for a wet topping when their menu says .99 all because i want it in a tiny cup so it doesn't melt my ice cream. I told them to put it in my lid instead and they said it's the same thing and would have to charge $5. I don't know what kind of idiot they think I am but when their menu says .99 for a wet topping and you want to charge $5 to put in on the side, that should be illegal. Like I said, I normally have no issues but this second time has pissed me off royally. She said it's their "policy". Well if that's their "policy" to rip people off for wanting a hot topping not directly on the ice cream, I'll take my business elsewhere. They can shove their side of hot fudge and their tiny cup, up where the sun don't shine. read more

Update of my previous review from a comment of a fellow Yelper that I received. I do agree that 1 star is a little harsh for the initial great service I received, however, to me, I can't believe I wasn't offered maybe a last scoop of ice cream to replace the one at the bottom that I threw away, I had to ask for a cup of water, and was insisted on that the oreos were fresh when they clearly werent. Service comes second to the food quality and if the quality is refused to be improved upon/be consumable by food standards, then what does service mean if I can't even get any food to experience the service in the future. Bad. It's hidden deep in the Ponderosa Shopping Center of central Camarillo with ample parking. Called owner on a Monday. Owner offered 99c junior scoop Tuesday! Didn't get in until following Tuesday, at which time I was told it's only on Tuesdays the owner feels like it. Junior scoop is otherwise $2.59 + tax. A single junior scoop sundae with one topping serving, whip cream and nuts would be $4.99 + tax. This is at least a 50% markup over L.A. If you don't like that, be warned: according to Yelp it's the only ice cream parlor left in Camarillo (besides Coldstone if that counts). Very disappointed. Baskin Robbins of Camarillo, shame on you. In L.A. we pay no more than $3 or $4 for a one scoop sundae, or $2 for a kid's scoop. J. read more

I ordered a cake for my 3 year olds birthday. First I was really surprised they don't have better cake design options for kids. Nice service, a little expensive but expected. I wanted to pay good money for a good cake that my daughter was excited for. Her special day was here and we cut into the cake and it was made wrong. We asked for chocolate cake not vanilla. So nobody wanted a slice cuz my family is chocolate eaters. So we decided to return it right away and get our money back since her party was over . Was told to come the next day at 12 when owner was there, I did and she wasn't there. Was told to leave a name and number and would be called . 2 days went by and nothing. Called again and was told I'll get a call back as soon as she's in, no call back for another 2 days... So I called again and SHE ANSWERED and told to go in the morning and she will be there. But only offered store credit as a solution to my 50$ cake that was made wrong. So I said no I'd like the money back and she said she has to be there for that. So I called before I drove 25 minutes to the store and she was not in that morning. Called again the next day and asked if she could please wait so I can speak to her and get my money back I could leave right then and there. She said okay. I go, she left 5 minutes before we got there and just left the money in an envelope. I find this super unprofessional, I waited a whole week to finally even speak to her on the phone and asked her to wait so I can address it with her and not through her store and she said yes and left on purpose so she didn't have to deal with it. It cost nearly $8.00 for a two scoop banana royal. The girl making mine sneezed, (she turn away from the ice cream) however did not cover her mouth with her arm. She was inches away from my ice cream while this happened. To top it off. The two banana royals we ordered were the skimpiest! You would think if you're paying $8.00 for a two scoop of ice cream! Very disappointed in this BR Lady was not helpful and had this lost look about herself. Store was low on Ice cream. And when I asked how much for 1/2 gal she quoted me $35!!!! The service here is always friendly and welcoming and tonight was no exception! We were welcomed with a warm and friendly smile and an offer to try a sample. Tonight I am giving four stars because I did find it a tad bit odd to see a sign at the register saying that they could only accept credit cards. Huh? No cash? We read about different business that do nice things for the Veterans on Veterans Day. Baskin Robbins had a special flavor ice cream, offered for free to all Vets. My husband is a 100% Vet. The big mouth Latino employee that was there, soured the whole experience buy telling us that they Do Not Do Anything special for the Vets...I told her they were advertising that they did online, and she said "well we aren't...maybe Somis is..." Really? REALLY? She couldn't be more mean...:( Never again would we ever go back where such ignorant people are hired!!!!!!!!!! Shame on that employee...shame on Baskin Robbins for hiring an employee with no knowledge, compassion,or heart. We've been going here for years. Friendly staff and fairly quick service. However, on our last visit we took a coupon from a locally bought $25 coupon book. The coupon for "buy one sundae get one free" said it didn't expire until 12/31/13 and it was good at all Ventura County locations. Apparently not. We were told that they don't accept those coupons. I don't like being misled, baited and switched, or nickel and dimed. Will not be back. I'll just go to Wild Cherry down the street. read more
