inside there are a few tables and chairs to enjoy their treats there if you like

Had a great experience at this shop! Ordered a cake several days in advance online and picked it up here. The guys working here at the time had a nice friendly attitude as they helped all the customers. My order was ready as expected, the whole pick up process was a breeze. The shop is small but does have a few good sized tables and chairs for enjoying the sweet treats there if you like. They're located in a small strip mall with pretty tight parking spaces in the lot, but there were a few open spots when I arrived. It's on a corner with a traffic light, so it makes it pretty easy to get in and out.

Ice slushie consistency throughout the quart. Must've melted and was placed back in the freezer. Grainy, too.

Sold us freezer burnt ice cream quarts. Wish I can tell everyone a way to check before you purchase but you can't. The texture of the ice cream was grainy and other parts of it was like ice slushee consistency. Once ice cream is freezer burnt, it's no longer creamy and has flavor. That's the portion in the picture that's outlined in red. This means the quarts were probably melted at one point and placed back in the freezer. Luckily, DoorDash was awesome and I received a credit but just wanted to warn people that these people who run this establishment knew that their freezer must've broke at one time, kept the ice cream in the freezer, repaired the freezer and still sold the ice cream anyway.

    Wild and reckless

Small shop with a big heart. Sketch neighborhood at night but the area is typically harmless. Deltaco drive thru traffic may sometimes cause annoying blockades, but nothing major. Cool staff

This "small" is essentially *three large scoops of ice cream*. Now, I don't know about you, and I'm advanced in my years and trying to lose a little bit of weight, so I really don't need to be eating 3 massive scoops of ice cream at a time, but I've asked them if I can just get *one scoop* (which is still a huge scoop) and they say that I'd *still have to pay $6.00 for it - even if I only wanted one scoop, I'd still have to pay six dollars for it. Why can't you charge me *$3* for *1 scoop* (if two more of those would make six dollars)?!? This is why Americans are so overweight, because we have these ridiculous, insanely huge portions that are totally ridiculous. There's no reason a human being has to eat 3 massive scoops of ice cream, in one sitting. I don't care how old you are or what your metabolism is. Unless you're an Olympic athlete, eating 3 scoops of ice cream is not good for anyone, as delicious as it is (and it was delicious). I really wish they would change this, because I like this store and they have a really great business model, except for this one stupid thing.

The employee who served me was an Asian woman (never got her name), and she had a very rude, impatient, and dismissive attitude from the moment I walked in. I came in around 11 AM on June 11th, shortly after they opened. I told her I was probably going to get a small scoop or kid's scoop, but I wanted to try a few flavors first. I tried no more than three samples. I even asked her if there was anything she recommended because several flavors looked good. Her response was, "I don't know. Just follow your heart." Huh? I'm asking an employee at an ice cream shop for a recommendation, and that's the response I get? Even the other employee working there made a face because he clearly recognized how rude and unnecessary that response was. So I have a question for her: When you applied for this job, did you follow your heart? When you sat down for the interview, were you following your heart? When you came into work that day, did you follow your heart? And if you're that miserable at your job, are you going to follow your heart and leave? Follow your heart and find another job, Silly. I later called and spoke with the manager, Camille, and she was shocked when I told her what happened. She explained that customers, including herself, sometimes try six or more samples when deciding what they want. Every other time I've visited Salt & Straw, the staff have been helpful and willing to make recommendations, so there was absolutely no reason for this employee to be ignorant.

My happy place!!! I can't remember how I found the brand but I'd been buying it from Lazy Acres, WF…read moreand occasionally Erewhon for the organic flavors. Sprouts had it, once I actually started eating it, they discontinued it lol. I love that for the majority of flavors it's so much cleaner than other brands. I realized there was flavors I wanted to try, not in those stores. I texted cs (SUPER helpful btw) but they told me the stores had all the flavors. GCM can be a pain, and my friend sent me a story about that store, so I'm glad I ended up in studio city. I wrote her name but can't find it. I think it was Mirka. So sweet and helpful. She was patient while I tried some of the flavors I had curiosity around but had never seen in the stores. At the time the double strawberry sees collab flavor was new, tried it and liked it. The pbj needed strawberry jelly instead. There was other flavors I hadn't heard of. It was nice to be at the helm of the flavors lol. I did a sampler flight and got the strawberry sees one to go home. I will say, it's $13 in store, and a while back WF had a kick ass sale and I paid $4! But they didn't have all the flavors! So I suppose it's worth it lol. I came again w a friend. I wanted to do the corn and berries and try the berry crumble. I was so intrigued by corn and berries, but let me tell you, it's chillin w its cousins in my freezer! I should've taken a pic of my freezer at the height of the sale! I think I have 8 pints in my freezer. Don't judge me. Some of my faves: summer corn & blackberries, brown sugar w milk Bordeaux, banana cream w toffee ettes, sea salt cream & cookies and golden state vanilla. I love churros & sprinkle cake - only available here. Haven't brought them home yet but they were part of my flight. I find it interesting, of all the flavors they find strawberry oversaturated, so you can only buy it here or online. I'm not big on chocolate but even w the ss cream & cookies, they're house made cookies and SO good! Despite the name, I didn't realize chocolate w polar bear paws was a chocolate based ice cream, again lol don't judge me. Most chocolate ice creams I've had in the past are hard to get through. Let's just say that pint lasted 2 days once opened. I probably would buy it on a rare occasion but I was surprised with how smooth it is. I brought my friend with me the second time, she got the Bordeaux one after tasting. I tried to tell her it was available at WF, but that's not her usually store so she paid it. Again I'm struggling with the name of the guy that helped us. Kind and patient. Obviously I'll be back when something I'm intrigued by is only here or online. I'm extremely happy that they don't just deliver an epic product, but the service also lives up to it. It's a place I'll happily return.

VERY EXPENSIVE! Got Vanilla and some other creamy ice cream (can't remember the name), that had four different types of nuts: pecans, peanuts, walnuts, and almonds. The name wasn't stated on the receipt. The ice cream tasted delicious, creamy, flavorful, great texture and was well balanced. They have small stools inside, and somewhat long tables. They also have this long bench outside for people to sit on. Place was clean, street parking only and gender neutral restroom. The original McConnell's was founded back in 1949 in Santa Barbara. My son and I were there not too long ago and tried the original one in SB. They also have 3 other locations including this one. The vibe just didn't rub me the right way. All employees were somewhat trying their best to be helpful. They also serve sorbet, baked goods (which were empty). I wanted to get a cookie or a muffin. Whatever was left didn't look appealing. They make smoothies, shakes, and sauces. Everything from scratch. Time to make a trip to Freddos.
