One of my favorite spots for ice cream! They have such creative flavors and somehow every combination works. I visited on a Saturday night and there was a line but it moved quickly. Our server was super friendly! I sampled one of their monthly flavors and it was good! I went with one scoop with two flavors: chocolate gooey brownie and lavender. It was such a yummy combination! The space is small and they have a few tables outside where you can enjoy your ice cream!

Arrived in the middle of the afternoon to be greeted by Isabella. After scouring the menu I chose the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Being the piggy I am, I got 2 scoops. Well, yup 2 scoops was the way to go! Smooth and delicious was how I could best describe the creamy sensation. Limited sitting on 2 benches outside. But well worth the trip. Place is clean. Definitely will be back!

Unique flavors, high-quality ingredients and so indulgent! My favorite flavor is the malted cookie dough. They also have mocha and fudgy flavors. Others have lavender, poppyseed and other fun flavors. The service was very nice, they offered my samples. The ladies behind the counter were very polite and informative. The ambience is pretty modern and a little bit hipsterish! I do have to say that price wise it is a bit pricey, you're paying almost 8 dollars for a scoop of ice cream about the same price as a pint you would buy at the grocery store. Portions are decent, a scoop is about the size of your fist. This is a fun place to get a tasty treat occasionally! Be adventurous and try all the flavors!

Excellent ice cream!! Loved our ice cream! Their seasonal flavors are delicious. I went with a waffle cone and it was so good. Line went by quick. I wish they had more tables outside to sit bc it's a cute spot on Ventura!

My favorite ice cream chain. Wonderful staff who patiently let you sample a couple of flavor and give you good commentary to help you choose. They have now added toppings to their menu and everything tastes better with chocolate sauce. My fave and go to are the Strawberry and the Brownie Chocolate ice cream...with chocolate sauce.

The staff here never fail to leave me feeling extra excited about my ice cream!!! We always come across a wonderful staff member who's never afraid to offer more than the basic necessities in customer service. They are upbeat and great at keeping engaged with customers. I'm so glad this branch is here and it's always something I look forward to when I need a sweet treat for myself and my girlfriend. We love to come here and are always excited to try the many new flavors that appear inside of these doors. Five stars once again!!!

This Salt & Straw location is so small on the exterior you might actually miss it while driving by on Ventura Blvd. There is no indoor seating and just a single bench outside and only sometimes. If you come here for a sweet treat, expect to eat it standing or walking around on Ventura. There is metered street parking right by Salt & Straw as well as free street parking the next side street over, though you will have to search around for a bit and walk a little for this option. Salt & Straw is famous for their more eccentric ice cream flavors and there really hasn't been any that I've ever hated. My mom and I recently came by to try out their Berries series, she like the Habanero berry mix and I got the birthday cake / blackberry combo. Mine was the less unique of the two and I think as a result, less exciting / interesting to eat. If you swing by, you must try out the weirder flavors, they really end up being surprise hits!

12/10 Salt & Straw is hands down my favorite ice cream shop in LA No matter how many flavors I try, I always find myself coming back to the Snickerdoodle--pure comfort in a cone. Their Coffee & Love Nuts is my #1 andall the different coffee variations are incredible, and every seasonal or limited batch flavor they roll out is worth a try. Even the combinations you wouldn't normally think to order end up being unforgettable. What makes this place even better is the service The staff are so generous with their samples and actually encourage you to take your time until you land on the one that feels perfect. Every scoop is rich, creamy, and bursting with taste It feels indulgent in the best possible way. Salt & Straw isn't just ice cream, it's an experience From the creativity of their flavors to the kindness of their team, it's a spot I'll always recommend and keep in my regular dessert rotation.

Very unique flavors. I got the captains berried treasure which had a cream cheese-y taste but I thought there would be Cap'n Crunch in it because of the picture (there was not). The Concord grape and nut one was pretty good too, kinda tasted like a pb&j. There can be a long line sometimes even late at night and different employees give you different portion sizes (some can be stingy)!

I eat alot of ice cream. Traveling to CA for work, I needed something sweet! Found this place on Yelp. It..did..not..disappoint!! I got in right before the big rush, but thankfully I did. When I was walking out, there was a line of 30 people. Inside is small, but moves quick. I ordered the double, 2 scoops. The cinnamon snickersdoodle is top 2 flavors I've ever had. Absolutely amazing. The caramel peanut brittle was also great, but that Snickerdoodle! You need to get a scoop or 5!

Just drove across this ice cream shop, on the way to a different one and saw a few people in line. So said why not! Vanilla so good! Must try ice cream if you are near by.

We came to Salt & Straw right after our engagement and it made an already special day even sweeter! The cashier congratulated us--he was incredibly kind and thoughtful--and even gave us our ice cream on the house It was such a touching gesture that we'll never forget. All the staff were super helpful while we sampled the different flavors (which are always so unique and fun to try!) Thank you for making the experience even more memorable :)

Ask the Community - Salt & Straw

    Do they make date shakes?

I don't know, I usually get a chocolate one with them -- and he's the most delicious of all the chocolate ones.

Do they have any non dairy sorbets?

They have new flavors every month, and one or two of them will usually be a dairy-free option. Of their "classic" flavors (which don't change every month) there is always a royalty-free option.

Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.

Here's a helpful tip: The bank next door allows 10 minutes of parking if you use their ATM and keep your receipt. There is security in the lot, so be sure to have your receipt as proof of the time. It's more than enough time to run next door and grab your treats. I ordered a slice of the lemon loaf, a gluten-free cookie, and the classic chocolate chip cookie. The lemon loaf slice is huge, I'd say it's the equivalent of two slices, so it's definitely big enough to share. As for the cookies, Levain is known for making them thick and rich. A small piece goes a long way, making them perfect for savoring over a couple of days (if you have that much self-control!). The moment you walk inside, you're greeted by the incredible aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the service was warm and welcoming. I truly think everyone should experience a Levain cookie or pastry at least once. It's worth the visit!

We've seen all the viral fruit pastries online, and were so excited to try them. When we got in, we were able to see all of the options on display and they had a big menu telling you exactly what was in each one. You order off of a kiosk, which makes it incredibly easy to order. Almost all of our pastries were ready before we had even left the kiosk, which was great! I went with the mango and the peach, both of which were fantastic! The shortbread cookie underneath both was delicious, the mango mousse and filling tasted so fresh and amazing. The peach had an Earl Grey cream and fresh peach chunks as well. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice! These fruit pastries have absolutely gone viral, and there's many shops that do them, but Tu Cha is hands-down, the best!

It's just tiktok hype, save the time and get dessert somewhere else…read more What I ate: - Lemon shaped was probably the best of the flavors I tried. I also like the mango shaped one. The peach shaped and was forgettable Pros: - The cakes are very very cute and amazing to look at - Shop inside had a few tables. It seemed like most were just couples or a few friends sharing - Kiosk ordering do no need for human interaction if you don't want it Cons: - I really hated that the flavors did not match up to the cake shapes. I think I liked the lemon shaped one the best because it has the most citrusy passionfruit flavor. But when I break into the mango shaped cake, I expect a strong mango flavor. If the flavors were not going to match, I would've much rather like it if the cakes were in different shapes like a cute cartoonish animal, or smiley face, or a daisy. Some shape that I wouldn't associate with flavor - I also wasn't a huge fan of the flavor combos. I feel like they were really trying to go out there but often times the fruit flavors used didn't really match up with the tea or nut flavors. The flavors were not balanced at all, often just very muddled with one flavor either being too strong or not strong enough, or interfering with a fruits flavor. Some of the cakes were floral tasting from tea or almost slightly savory. The cakes are not sweet at all. Maybe I was just unlucky and tried the worst flavors. Again the lemon shaped one was the best because passionfruit flavor was sharp enough to cut through the other flavors - Parking is street and can be hit or miss - Expensive - I ordered a drink and I don't see it on the menu, or I just can't remember it. That's how different it was. I do remember thinking it was so sweet Would I go again? Absolutely not
