Flatbread
Carrie Z.

I stopped by in the mid-afternoon, and since most of their pastries and breads were already sold out, I ordered a flatbread ($10). It was overbaked, burnt on the sides and too crunchy. If you visit, come early before they run out of their items, and definitely skip the flatbread.

Nice little cafe conveniently located right along the perimeter of Sonoma plaza. Was greeted by a nicely elderly gentleman who was sitting outside eating a salad. someone said he might be the owner. We only had drinks this time. I tried one of their specialty Spanish latte which is basically just latte with sweetened condensed milk. Also truer ice hazelnut latte. Coffee was average and orice was about average for the area ~$6-8 depending on size shd flavor. Will try some pastries next time.

I've not been to this bakery in many years and I was happy to return today. I had a very adequate latte and my friend and I shared the beguiling beehive cake. That was scrumptious. Prices are reasonable for the area and there are plenty of places to sit inside to enjoy your goodies

FANTASTIC! Terrific service (patient, kind, and fast), delicious fresh ingredients, and a cozy atmosphere. Basque is a gem. VERY reasonably priced too, especially for a tourist area. HIGHLY recommend here for baked goods or a satisfying meal.

Matcha Latte does not taste like premium matcha. No flavors

Walked by this cafe while walking Sonoma. It was busy so I thought it would be good but I was so wrong. Ordered prosciutto and Brie sandwich and Matcha Latte. Sandwich has one thinly sliced prosciutto, pieces of pear and minimal Brie. It was not worth the $12.75. Matcha latte felt underwhelmed. Does not taste much Matcha flavors and they did not use any syrup. Bland and no flavors. The worst Matcha I ever had. Would not recommend this place for sandwiches or drinks. Do not think I would be back if I'm in the area again.

8/17/25 Highly tempting carb/loaded pastries

8/17/25 Highly tempting carb/loaded pastries ... looks like a local favorite. Shout out to Derek, fine young man who convinced me to get the bread pudding. Nice, clean, cute shop. Was looking for a bakery & we landed here. This shop is in the main drag where are plenty of shops to peruse or simply just stop in & try. The bread pudding caught my eye coz it's Hubby's favorite. Derek tells me he hears good things about it although he's never had it himself. Took a gamble & got one. It is heavy for its size. Visited the lavatory, clean & well maintained for a place that's been a local & tourist hangout for quite sometime, it definitely needs an update but it is adequate. Good visit, even met a few tourists & chatted with them, friendly place.

The Caesar salad was so disappointing- flavorless and dressing-less. The sandwiched are better though and well priced!

Stopped in here for a sandwich and was pretty disappointed by the place. When ordering at the counter the was focused on everything else but taking out order and was rather short with is when we asked about the different breads. I think you can see by the photos the sandwiches were nothing to get excited about. You can do better.

French toast made with the Basque Boulangerie's sweet baguette.

Just went to the cafe yesterday and had a picnic in the park! We ordered sandwiches, which were simple and delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the portions sized perfectly. Great coffee, friendly and quick service. We even got a complimentary sweet baguette, which I just made French toast with. YUM!!! Fully recommend.

3-cheese grilled cheese sandwich, plus tomato It was REALLY YUMMY!

Wow, exceptional food with excellent selection... price point was terrific, especially given the shop was on the square.

Cute and quaint Spanish bakery in Sonoma Square. This place was bustling on Saturday afternoon. It smells so heavenly once you walk in as they serve pastries and coffee. They have an almond scone that is so legendary that it's always what I get plus some yummy baked goods for the weekend. They provide good and fast customer service. I recommend taking some time and looking at the full menu, which is on a chalkboard above the counter and know what you want when they call your number. They tend to move very quickly because the bakery gets busy and they wanna move people in and out. They have some small tables inside the bakery and few tables outside as well. I highly recommend coming to this place next time you're in Sonoma Square even if you're not in mood for sweets trust me and pay them a visit and grab some goodies to go. You will thank me later and enjoy it with a nice cup of coffee the next day. It's an awesome way to enjoy life!

This is definitely a bakery everyone will love. The food ranges from quiches and frittatas to a variety of flavorful cheesecakes, tiramisu, cookies, croissants, and cinnamon rolls or morning buns. There are several tables in a clean, light-filled cafe to enjoy your treats and espresso or cold drink, but we were taking our choices home. The person who filled our order was unbelievably delightful. She made me want to return often! We had a cinnamon roll, 2 chocolate chip cookies, and a chocolate croissant. All were absolutely delicious, but our dog ate the items we were planning to photograph. He loved them as well.

We stopped by while on a vintage motorcycle tour. The quiche and frittata were PERFECT. The cappuccino? PERFECT. I couldn't even wait to have the beehive cake before I posted a positive review!

Chai latte is pretty good and the burritos are alright, no salsa which was a bummer but overall pretty good.

Open for take out. Great coffee, right by a nice park where you can enjoy the coffee and beautiful flowers.

This is an old fashion deli gussied up for Sonoma. It gets busy but everyone working here is attentive and even nice. There's a ton of interesting cheeses (duh) and pasties (yum) but I come here for the coffee and Butcherman sandwiches. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches which are large enough to split if you aren't a big eater. Cubano: not traditional but delicious. Ham AND pork sausage. Jack cheese and avocado. Mortadella: with pesto and burrata. Another delicious break with tradition. Even the Arnold palmer (ice tea and lemonade) is good. There are seats in the back and a few outside but I like the counter in the front window. Enjoy your food and watch the world walk by.

Years ago, this was our go-to stop in Sonoma for wine and cheese tastings, incredible sandwiches, BBQ, and browsing a lively marketplace. It always felt busy and full of energy. This visit was a completely different experience. The store felt sparse, the cheese selection was much smaller than we remembered, there were no cheese samples, and we couldn't find their own branded cheeses that we used to love. We stopped in to grab lunch on our way home. The sandwich menu is now limited, and you can no longer build your own. We ordered two sandwiches, and while they were decent, they didn't justify the high price. There is still both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice, but the overall experience felt like a shadow of what made this place so special. I really miss the vibrant marketplace where people gathered to sample cheeses, pick up lunch, and enjoy everything Sonoma had to offer. Sadly, we won't be returning. With so many outstanding places to eat around Sonoma, this no longer stands out and, in our opinion, has gone downhill.
