Just wanted to report on an awesome experience I had here in this store because of an employee by the name of Michael from the footwear department on the second floor! I had been looking around at different stores for a particular product when I came into this store I was trying to locate this said product and couldn't find not one associate on the sales floor as I walked around no one was around to help me & then I walked over to the footwear department at the suggestion of another customer like myself because they noticed Michael there and Michael walked me over to the product that wasn't in his area and helped me going above and beyond the call of duty such excellent customer service! I found out that bass pro has pictures with Santa for over a month, every day, for free! They give you a free 4 by 6 print out with the option to buy the digital copy and other copies when you get home. You definitely want to make a reservation. They open up at 12:01am for the following week. I also recommend just checking the website for cancellations. I checked on a Saturday night and got a 10:45 am appointment (cancellation) for that Sunday which was perfect. Prior to that I didn't have any luck. The experience there was great. We checked in, waited in a small line and once it hit 10:45 the line moved very quickly. Your time with Santa is very short because he has a lot of kiddos to see and pics to take! He hands out candy canes as well. My son was sadly terrified, but that's ok! Maybe next year. He enjoyed looking at all the toys, the fish in the aquarium, and the dogs they let people bring into their store. This experience definitely made me more fond of bass pro and I'll be stopping in to shop here more often! read more

So my experience is only for the firearms section of the store. I went there on a weekday afternoon just so look at a few firearms they had in stock. I figured it would not take too long just to compare the two models and decide which I prefer. Well it took me 90 minutes waiting in line just to be served with help! The wait was agonizing as we the customers watched the sales associates walk and work at a snails pace. They would stop and talk to each other about their weekend, plans, and other social topics as there was a bunch of customers waiting for a long time and getting aggravated. It seemed ridiculous as one associate became free and then walked into the back room to disappear for 10 minutes...Then another associate comes out the back room does a snail walk looks at all the customers piling up in front of them and then disappear into the back room again. This was worst then being at the DMV. The associates have very limited knowledge of firearms and it is apparent they have no passion for what they do. They are dead inside... While waiting in line I actually witnessed a confrontation between a white shirt associate (others had colored polos on so not sure if there is a pecking order there) and a customer where the crusty asked to see if a scope ring fit their scope. The associate said he did not have the time to hassle with such a low cost item. When the customer asked if he was too good to help him the associate said that he was not worth his time....then the associate went to talk about the customer after he left and the two associates were shaking their head snickering about the customer. Yes, this is what us customers are subjected to when we have to wait for 90 minutes just to be helped... Also the firearms for the most part are over priced compared to other chain stores. I was thoroughly aggravated by the time I left as what seemed to be a 10 minute excursion ended up being closer to 2 hours! And the worst part is they don't give a care! read more

Bass charged me Shipping fees and refused to refund them citing if it shipped to their store it would have been zero. But since it shipped to my home I had to lose out on the cost. Great selection of outdoor gear here! There's something for every outdoor hobby here. There's a huge variety of fishing and hunting gear, backpacks, coolers, outdoor chairs, etc. I ended up purchasing a cute Northface waist pack from here. The prices are reasonable too. I love visit Bass Pro Shops just to walk around in too - I love viewing the indoor waterfall (there's a second floor to the store around where the waterfall starts), indoor river with fish, and large aquarium with different types of fish. In another location I've gone to, there was even a fake shooting range set up like an arcade. I appreciate the lengths Bass Pro Shops go out to set up products and allow customers to see what they look like unboxed. They had most of their outdoor chairs out for customers to try out for size and comfort. Fun shop! Will be back here! read more

I had never been in a Bass Pro Shop before and let me tell you, did it ever leave an impression! My experience was around Christmas time as I found out I could take my boys to see Santa there with an appointment. The appointment idea was appealing to me as with covid I wanted to limit the exposure my baby had. The Santa experience was awesome! Well organized, not super busy because of the appointment times and cutely decorated! After the visit with the Big Guy, we took a trip around the store. I was so impressed! Amazing displays of outdoor gear, clothing, toys that seemed endless! The store has a fun outdoorsy vibe to it too. We really enjoyed the huge fish tank as well. I felt like we went to the Brookfield zoo without paying the huge entry fee! I felt like the prices here for what I looked at (mainly toys) was on par for other stores, but they even had exclusive items for Bass Pro. First let me start off by saying the custmer service here is okay and could be a lot better. The guy that assisted me was giving misleadsing information and was speaking to me as if I was a criminal trying to buy a gun saying remarks like when you fill out the background info you can't be on your phone cause someone can be coaching you and that he's not going to jail on the count of me etc etc. I ignored it and went with my purchase of a used GF3T pump action shot gun. My background cleared and I picked it up this past Sunday which was 12-10-23. Today 12-14-23 I decided to do a function check I place one shell in the barrel and one in the tube and cycled the rounds. Well the shell ejected but it did not feed the next round. Strip the shot gun apart to get the shell out and tried it multiple times. I called Bass pr shop to speak with someone and asked what was their policy on defective used guns and basically they told me I was SOL. I asked for a manager who told me the same thing and I asked him "So anyone can come in with a broken gun and as long as it looks good they will buy it and sell it at a profit" and his answer was yes. The don't test it at all. NO function test, dry fire, or function test it. Told me to contact a gun smith and have them to look at it. Never again will I purchase a firearm new or used from them again. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The service is amazing, the people were amazing and brought me to what I wanted. I was about to go on a ice fishing trip and I needed boot cleats so I don't slip on the ice, and they were kind enough to bring me to the cleat area and we found the size I wanted. Went back to Illinois for a visit and learned that I was unable to purchase ammunition because I do not live in a neighboring state. Even though I had a valid Illinois hunting license and a valid Illinois FOID card. Because I moved my FOID card is now invalid. To learn this I waited in line for 20 minutes for an extremely annoyed employee to tell me. No signs were posted to read while I waited so this is my public service announcement. We decided to go shopping at Bass Pro on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Not one of my better ideas. I know. The parking lot was packed but we were undaunted. My husband had seen a Bass Pro flier with his favorite shorts on sale and wanted to shop. My husband is a 36, a very common male size, so naturally they did not have the size he needed. An employee, Debbie, was working the area and asked that deadly question, "Are you finding what you are looking for?" "No, we are not," was my reply. "He needs a 36 in this color, as does that gentleman over there." (Another 36 male and his wife were shopping for the same items.) Off Debbie went to "look in back". Surprisingly, she returned with 3 pair of 36's; one for us, one for them and one for the rack. Fast forward 15 minutes, to another area of men's clothing. Different shorts, no 36's. I sought out Debbie and off she went to search for this new style in a 36. God love 'er she returned with the exactly what I had requested. We purchase 3 items that we would not have had access to had it not been for this employee. Management take note: This is an awesome employee! Kind, patient and all about customer service. I am thoroughly disgusted by the treatment I just received at Bass Pro Shop. My husband and I went to this particular Bass Pro Shop to get a picture of our 2 year old with Santa. We got to the store over 2 hours before Santa was scheduled to leave. I was told at the front that Santa was booked, so I asked the second station if I waited would we be able to see Santa. The man working said they had a lot of people waiting but that he would try to put me in at the end if we were willing to wait. So we waited. Then they changed employees manning the second station. So I courteously went up and said I had been waiting for an hour and we were waiting until the end to get a spot to see Santa. The last man said this was our choice to wait, and he would try to get us in at the end if we waited. I was only relating what had already been told to us. The worker - Tim - told me I should never have waited and there is absolutely no way I would get in to see Santa tonight. I, being 9 months pregnant, asked if there was any way if I waited until the end because that was what had already been communicated, knowing I could go into labor any day and couldn't guarantee I'd be able to come back. He was extremely rude, barely making eye contact with me and kept repeating don't wait there's no way. So I waited a little while longer and checked in about the amount of people still on the list and likelihood of getting in. He only got ruder and ruder basically telling me to get over it and leave. I overheard him talking to a different family who didn't make it on the list about the people and children the Bass Pro Shop makes accommodations for, and apparently a 9 month pregnant woman was not one of them. I am horrified by the miscommunications, misinformation, and most of all the treatment I got here. We will not be back, but I also wanted to let any one know what this company and certain employees are all about. I guess some people feel a sense of power and authority when turning away children and pregnant women (who are willing to wait 2+ hours) to see Santa. This review is based on my Santa and Easter bunny experiences. Nov. 17, 2018, we went to see Santa. The process was great- check in at a kiosk- provide your cell # & receive a text when it's time to get in line. Today, I took my toddler to see the Easter bunny. This time, there was no kiosk just follow the footprints (bunny). We got there at 1:45 & the bunny arrived at 2pm. We waited in a steadily moving line for about 1 hour- not bad! My advice- go early and understand you'll have to wait- it's life. Talk to the people around you- hopefully they're not obnoxious! Relax- it's about the experience for the kids and dogs.
