The flimsy parking permit which is always hanging from the rear-view mirror apparently fell onto the floor of the vehicle. So, George & Joey's was called. In my experience, their drivers typically check inside vehicles with a flashlight before towing, but that procedure either was not followed in this case or was overlooked. Unfortunately, it was more like an opportunistic tow during the Memorial Day weekend. When I contacted the company, we were informed--just before retrieving the truck--that the cost would be $375.00. The representative admitted that the permit was visible the following morning, but claimed it could not be seen at night because the windows were tinted. That explanation simply does not hold up. I personally tested visibility by placing the permit back on the floor and using a low-powered flashlight, and the permit was still clearly visible through the window. Overall, this experience was a complete ripoff. I see why they have complaints, particularly around overcharging and unfair practices.

Like most of you, my experience with towing/auto mechanics is usually less than pleasant, but my experience with Torrance Towing could not be further from the case. Long story short, had my battery give out on the way to work (I HAD A PRESENTATION TO GIVE) and Sam showed up almost instantly, took about 3 minutes to get my car up and running, and was simply just a saint. They said that the email address had to come from my dad email address and not mine, so, I sent them an email from my fathers email address (we made him one), sent over the information and they had the audacity to ask what the insurance provider was. This was after my dad sent them the email with the vehicles registration and valid drivers license. I don't know why they add extra stress to folks who are already dealing with total losses/car damage. I would highly recommend you DO NOT USE this tow company.

He made us feel safe and he was working hard around the facilities. He was very kind and sweet. We had to pick up a vehicle from here. Note that they tact on 3% fee when paying by credit card even if 95% Of the payment is in cash. They still tact on 3% of the TOTAL fee of what WAS owed. Van Lingen also charges you a $70 fee in order to release your car. That fee is an additional fee that they are selling your car at the exact 30 days it has been in their possession. Like I said .... This is one of the most hated places in the South Bay.

It's one of the best decisions I have made this year. Will was able to come out with a day or so and run a diagnostics check, quickly locating the issue and showing me the results. He explained to me what the issue was, discussed options, gave me a full quote and a price - highly competitive. With me agreeing to what needed to be done, he ordered the part (Saturday) and came back the next day (Sunday) to install it. Incredibly helpful and so polite, he showed me the new part, walked me through what he was going to do and afterward even showed me the part he removed and explained the wear and why it was actually perfect timing. Within hours I was up and running again, good as new. I have NEVER had service like this from a dealership in all my years of being a car owner and driver (and that's several decades). Will also flagged other things that I needed to be aware of (including needing an oil change - which I will be getting him to come and do) but at no point pushed for me to do them there and then - zero pressure, just guidance. He repeatedly asked if I had any questions and was keen for me to understand what was happening and why - superb! He even cleared up the work area after he'd finished. Flawless. Aside from the convenience and Will just being an incredibly nice guy, his attention to detail and service are second to none. Friendly and knowledgable, he works hard to make sure you understand what he's doing, and is professional and polite at every step along the way. "On Sat., June 16, 2018, late afternoon, Rani Aziz provided exceptional service over & above what normally might be expected. After doing his job, i.e., after towing my car from Rancho Penasquitos to the shop, that had closed for the day, in Pacific Beach (P.B.), he could have said (something to the effect of), "You're on your own now." Instead, he gave me a ride in the drizzling rain from P.B. to San Diego International Airport because (1) my life, e.g., two jobs, to-do list, responsibilities, etc., depended on a vehicle; (2) local car rental places had also closed for the day; and (3) I was in a bind with no ride. He went over & above with (1) jobs on deck, (2) a language barrier, (3) no definite address, and (4) a stranger. At the airport, he again could have dropped me off to fend for myself; however, instead, he made sure he did so with Hertz Rent-A-Car in plain view. In addition to patience, calmness, kindness, compassion, and more, from beginning to end of the ordeal, he gave me a bottle of water! Bassam Auto Towing under the circumstances was the best experience I ever had! I Am brand new to San Diego alone and learning to navigate the city. My car key was broken and I had to call a tow service. Bassam was the business I chose and I'm glad I did. When we arrived at the Honda dealership to get my car repaired I realized I left my credit card at the restaurant but I had enough cash to pay him. Before we parted ways he observed that I did not have my credit card and asked how I was going to get home I bravely said I would figure it out but internally I was very frightened being in a new city and all by myself and Stranded. He went Far and Beyond the Call of Duty by offering me a ride home so that I arrived safely. I realize it is not a service that is offered but his compassion and understanding for my situation made me know that if I ever was in need again Bassam Auto Towing is who I would call to service my car. I ran out of gas just after leaving LAX and didn't know who to call. AAA recommended Bassam and they were incredible! I was worried because I was stuck in the middle of traffic but they got to me so fast. Luis is the one who helped and he was so kind and empathetic. 72120S3 is the license plate of the Bassam auto towing tow truck that hit our car on the passenger rear side and just kept going did not stop. Did not check to see if we were OK it was very windy. He could have spun our car around on the freeway these people are criminals and their tow truck drivers are incompetent morons. read more

He asked where I was and logistics to make sure he could properly tow me. Once Cesar got to me (less than 1 hour), he looked at my car and inspected that I probably needed a jump start and that my battery bolts were loose. He tightened them up, jumped my car, made sure my car would start up at least 3-4 times. He assured me that I probably didn't need to go to a shop and told me if I needed a tow to call him and let him know. He charged me a fair amount considering he had to come all the way out to me and didn't tow me. He's a very stand up guy that I would recommend to anyone.
