My brand new vehicle experienced a Hybrid Malfunction, which basically didn't allow me to drive the car at all. I had to go through Toyota Care to schedule a tow to the nearest dealership. There was a bit of a hiccup in terms of getting a tow driver to my residence, but that was more a dispatch/scheduling issue through AAA. Anyway, I was told I needed a specific tow truck that has special equipment to get my car out of the garage etc. I get a call from Saeid with George and Joeys saying he's outside? Much sooner than anticipated. He was in a flat bad tow truck, which dispatch told me wouldn't work for my situation. Long story short, Saeid took a look at where the vehicle was located, checked out a couple things with the car, and found a solution to get the car positioned in a way that he could get it on the flat bed. This company towed our truck from the Bay Harbor complex after the HOA "parking patrol" called them. The flimsy parking permit which is always hanging from the rear-view mirror apparently fell onto the floor of the vehicle. So, George & Joey's was called. In my experience, their drivers typically check inside vehicles with a flashlight before towing, but that procedure either was not followed in this case or was overlooked. Unfortunately, it was more like an opportunistic tow during the Memorial Day weekend. When I contacted the company, we were informed--just before retrieving the truck--that the cost would be $375.00. The representative admitted that the permit was visible the following morning, but claimed it could not be seen at night because the windows were tinted. That explanation simply does not hold up. I personally tested visibility by placing the permit back on the floor and using a low-powered flashlight, and the permit was still clearly visible through the window. Overall, this experience was a complete ripoff. I see why they have complaints, particularly around overcharging and unfair practices. read more

I was kayaking in PV in a place I've done so for years. This time when I returned my car was being towed. I'd v never had an issue where I parked for 3 years...that's my bad, however, the tow truck pirate told me I could pay and he would not tow my car. I only had a credit card and his machine was broken. so he towed my car...I was soaking wet, had no dry clothes, the sun was setting, and I was stranded far from the road. That was criminal. He towed our car without a legal basis, and when confronted, admitted he didn't know the law and what is required for a private party tow. He gave us and our neighbor's car back for free because he knew he screwed up and basically stole our cars.... Also told us his credit card machine was broken and that we would have to pay in cash....which is illegal for a tow business!! Ok I came across this Towing company via my AAA, I understand that my emergency call was on a Sunday night, but it is really during these emergency calls that you see how a certain business is. I called AAA at around 8:30PM, I needed a tow since my car broke down. George and Joey was dispatched, with an ETA of 9:42PM according to AAA. So I patiently waited, 10PM comes, NO towing arrived, called AAA and they said the wait time for this towing company was to take about 3 hours. I was agitated because they gave an initial time of arrival and was changed drastically without notice. I tried calling the towing company multiple times, NO response and yet they say they are OPEN 24/7. So I desperately looked for another towing service, luckily I found someone who is readily available and was there within 30mins. Then came 12:20AM, I get a text from AAA that this towing company is on their way, I told them I am already halfway home so cancel it. This company is a crapshoot. I highly praise Raphael a tow truck driver that I normally receive when I get service. However, due to the hour of me needing service I got another gentleman. Unfortunately I did not get his name. He was not rude, but did not apologize for the mixup or the lateness of his arrival and hence I was kind of annoyed at the whole situation. For the most part, Jorge and Joey's towing have been efficient and helpful and again I'd like to give a big shout out to Raphael who normally services me but unfortunately, when I last needed George and Joe is to come out through the auto club, they were dis organized and did not have proper communication causing me to spend most of my Saturday waiting for service! Lazy lazy lazy!! A big waste of my time. Like all day. And Of course as most tow companies they don't care!

AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! like the plague!! George And Joeys Towing ripped my bumper and denied the damage then ripped me off for $300 to tow my car one mile. EXPECT the WORST!! if they touch your car. They should be fined and shut down for their dishonest business practices and should be reported to all government agencies and AAA for their Arrogant Nasty management. After going to Torrance PD I found out that George And Joeys Towing had towed my vehicle that a friend said I could park in a space in front of their building. I should have known better but it was late and I didnt ask my friend more questions which I should have. When I arrived to George And Joeys Towing the receptionist had a friendly greeting but when asked to speak with a manager they said sorry no one was there I could speak with. They had charged me the city of Torrance fee and their towing fee and then an overnight fee which came to just shy of $300. At first she said they were charging a dolly fee because they couldnt tow my car with their standard equipment. I questioned this and asked why they would try to charge me because they didnt the correct equipment. The changed the dolly fee and then charged me an overnight storage. This was dishonest since they towed my car after midnight because I didnt park my car until 2am. They lied and changed it back to the dolly fee. Then I examined my vehicle which originally had some typical bumper scratches from supermarket parking lot. Just being honest here!! When I saw the bumper was ripped and the bumper support was poking out around the bumper due to their towing of my car without the proper equipment. They used a dolly and damaged my bumper and bumper support. I have photos at the towing yard and also of the vehicle recently before which show no original damage on my cars rear bumper. They damaged the heck out of my bumper. The receptionist gave me push back and said theres nothing I can youll have to speak with a manager. No manager was there to speak with. I called and reached the same receptionist. She transferred me to Angelica who was immediately defensive disrespectful unprofessional who was completely nasty on the phone. She said to go sue us and tried to blame the damage to my bumper on me. I did not ask George And Joeys Towing to tow my vehicle or to use incorrect towing equipment on my vehicle. They ripped my bumper and bumper support. I called a second time and spoke with another manager who also became immediately defensive and nasty. Good luck to all of you who have your car towed and damaged and have to deal with these lowlifes. It cost me $300 for the tow and $1000 to fix my bumper that George And Joeys Towing damaged. They lied to me they lied to the insurance adjuster. They would not accept any responsibility for the damage their tow truck driver caused with his dolly. I requested a tow this morning at 7:30 a.m. through the auto club website Approximately an hour and a half later a truck shows up and can't do the tow. Too complicated. So about 9:30 I repeated the request through the website. 10:30 no truck, called AAA. Where's the truck? 11:30 no truck, called AAA. Asked that the tow truck supplier be changed to George and Joey's in Torrance 30 minutes later, there's the George and Joey's truck. The driver, Todd, had a "can-do" attitude. He got right to work.
