This meal was amazing. We were planning on eating at a different restaurant with a 35 minute wait. Rather than waiting we went to Batch and were seated right away. The drinks were great but slightly sweeter than we would have liked but when we told the waiter the next round was perfect. We had cornbread and burn ends for an appetizer which were fresh and delicious. For dinner we had chicken pot pie, burger and brisket sandwich. I have been here 3 times now and really love this place! I've tried several things and all were good. On our most recent visit my friend and I shared the Mac and Cheese which we customized by adding steak and crispy portobello mushrooms which was the perfect combo. The steak was tender and I really loved the preparation of the mushrooms. The mac and cheese was gooey and delicious. We came back for brunch and had a reservation which was relieving because the place was buzzing! The cocktails are creative and I love that they infuse some of their own spirits. The service we received from our server, Candy, was great and prompt. My low rating is due to the volume level of the music. I'm 28, so please note that I'm not an old, crotchety woman who wants those young kids to quiet down. I love good music and a bumpin' atmosphere but this was just too much. It was near impossible to have a conversation during our dining experience without having to yell at each other and even then, we were constantly having to repeat ourselves. I asked 3 separate employees to turn the volume down to very little avail. I understand it was a Sunday brunch and there was a DJ present, but my god. I would really encourage management to think about this and going forward make a change. Despite loving the food and drinks (and spending over $150) I will be hard pressed to go back if I can't enjoy my time with the people I'm with. read more

Everything was excellent! Was looking for a place to go to celebrate my birthday and came across it based on other reviews. Someone posted a picture of their apple pie and I was sold! Making reservations was a breeze, and we arrived for happy hour before our reservation. The drinks were so good and had a variety to choose from and were half off anything $13 and under. We ended up trying the wood fired oysters, deviled eggs and avocado toast as appetizers and they were all delicious! Everyone loved their entrees and their menu has plenty to choose from for whatever you are in the mood for. One of my guests is a vegetarian and had the jackfruit pulled pork! It was a hit! I had the burger and it was amazing. Unfortunately they were out of the apple pie but OMG the banana pudding did not disappoint! Full of flavor and crunchy vanilla wafers, I think I'm still full! Visited Batch for the first time last Saturday for lunch. Although the weekend market and nice weather brought a lot of people with pets out, my friend and I got a high top for two outside, fairly easily. I started the meal with coffee before moving on to their bloody Mary, which was tasty. My friend ordered Shrimp and Grits and I ordered Southern Crab Cake Benedict. Food arrived and looked amazing. My friend dove right in and was enjoying her meal. I immediately cut into what should have been a poached egg, only to find the egg was overcooked. I tried the second egg and that one was overcooked, as well. I kept looking up for our waiter but he simply forgot about us after we received our food. The Hollandaise sauce was delicious and crab cake was generous with crab but the overcooked eggs ruined what I thought would be a perfect meal. I decided to just eat it anyway since I couldn't find our waiter. During our meal, the manager came to ask how everything was and of course, I mentioned my eggs being overcooked. He offered to redo but I declined since we were about half through our meal and then also asked if we wanted " shots" instead- again, I declined but appreciated the gesture. As I was about to have the last two bites of my meal, I find a strand of hair at the bottom of one of my eggs! Really? I practically had already eaten most if the meal and now, after needing a glass of water badly and server went AWOL, I just threw my arms up to get anyone's attention. Server finally found our outside table and I showed him my disappointing discovery. He got a blank look, said " sorry" and disappeared again. A few moments later, another man came to the table to inspect the hair and apologized and of course, take the dish off our bill. We accepted. Hair happens, but the lack service was horrible. I would have tipped on whole bill prior to my dish being adjusted but he simply did not deserve it. Bad service is a killer, no matter how good the food tastes. Maybe we were just unlucky. read more

Omg!!! This place is amazing! The bacon cheddar tots are melt-in-your-mouth awesome! The brisket and short rib burger (with bacon-because you can never have too much bacon) was on point! First the good news: The service was excellent even though the place was full. We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation, despite a chaotic scene in the restaurant. That's it for the good news. Here's the not-so-good news: the food is mediocre at best, awful by many standards. Mac and Cheese? Horrible, almost tasteless. One order of Nashville Hot chicken sliders came with three, a nice size, and no condiments except pickles. The server explained that's because the seasoning is already coated onto the chicken. Well, that doesn't work so well, because these were flavorless and served on a type of bun that was, at the least, not fresh. A brisket and short rib burger was ordered medium well and came out more rare than medium. It was average at best; you can get a better burger pretty much anywhere. Burnt ends were an appetizer and had some flavor but if you like BBQ these are not something u will enjoy. We did not order the Chicken & Waffles, their highlighted speciality. Have had them there before a few years ago and they were very good. Based on the quality of the chicken sliders, though, I have doubts that this dish would have been good. It's a well-run establishment, lively, comfortable with good service. For a fun night out with friends it may be worth it. But if you are looking for anything beyond average to below average food, this place will not make you happy. read more
