I often always read yelp for reviews but have never posted one myself. After getting my car repaired, I decided this would be my first. George has been my mechanic for years and he's always been great. The best quality about him is that he's honest. Its very hard to find a good ethical mechanic. Example: My transmission was majorly messing up so I thought I would need a new one (Major bummer since thats $$$) but then found out its only a sensor. Most mechanics would replace the transmission even if it wasn't needed. read more

I've been Coming to Bates Auto for years.. my Chevy Impala LTZ is well taken care of here.. Henry and Ricardo do great work on my Chevy my Moms Chevy Cruze but not only that ..he works on my grandmothers Saturn and her new Dodge Dart as well..More importantly Henry is extremely fair and does not commit strong armed robbery with ridiculous pricing like other mechanics and dealerships do. There's a reason why he is so busy here and has so many customers. It's because he treats his customers like family, and makes sure you always leave satisfied. After coming here for so long I can't imagine going anywhere else. Henry has saved me on many occasions even when I was in dire need of mechanical help and my financial situation was terrible he still found a way to make sure I was good and riding safe. Was referred by my sister in law, needed my front brakes fixed. Had them replaced last year in February. Spending A LOT of money. But, figured hey... at least everything is brand new and will be ok for awhile... NOT!!! btw this was at another shop, not Bates. Come June, front brakes start grinding again!!! 4 month's after spending $700!!! I take the car back and tell the guy that fixed it in the 1st place the situation. He gave me an attitude and said he needed to look at the car 1st. Ummm... I knew it was the brakes lol he ended telling me... yeah, it's the brakes lol duhhh... but, something about something else wearing out that caused the brakes to go out again and it's gonna be $400 and something dollars. I paid the money and told myself I'd NEVER go back. Now, I'm here with my grinding AGAIN!!! I remember my sister in law telling me about Henry :) I called him told him the issue and he he gave me a price. Best case and worse case scenario. Which was soooooo reasonable. Was even able to fix it early the next morning. I am super grateful my sister in law referred me :) got my front brakes fixed. Rotors, brake pads, oil change and rotated my tires for under $250!!! Bates auto Service almost killed my family and I. We had our front brakes done by them. The brakes began to grind worse and worse. We took our 2003 VW Jetta to another mechanic. He discovered the pins that hold the rotors on, were missing. On numerous other occasions, we asked Bates to fix other things. They failed to do so. Charging us each time. We had a horrible rattle seeming to come from the drivers side outside of the car. 3 times, I complained about it. All 3 times, the told me it was a loose license plate frame. It wasn't. It turned out to be a faulty brake pad. When George Bates still worked there, he did respectable work. Once Henry and his crew took over, the workmanship became intolerable. Maybe even dangerous. Don't go there! They did tell me they really know Chevys best. Maybe a Chevy owner would have more luck. read more

Hello. First of all. Don't be skeptic. I am just a normal guy. Not a employee or anything other. I took my car because he had good reviews on yelp and I went with the yelp reviews. Took my car for a front brake special on yelp for 99.00. And a oil change for 19.99. 132 dollars out the door. Great deal as is. But I got a call. Said. You want the good or bad news. I was like great. What is he gonna tell me is wrong with my car. How much. Well. Bad news was. My brakes didn't need to be replaced. Just cleaned. Bad news was he wasn't gonna make that much money. He still cleaned. Did my oil change. Rotated my tires. And filled up my fluids. And told me instead of 132 my bill was 52. Wow. I am shocked and satisfied. I will bring all my business to this shop. Honesty is hard to find. And since I did. I won't be going anywhere else. I hope you guys use this yelp and do the same. Hard to find anyone honest in this business. Thanks again. read more
