My local BB&W consistently has superior, helpful, & personable staff & this is in no way a reflection on them, however, although I love their 3 wick candles & they're the only candles I purchase-WHEN THEY'RE ON SALE, , I'm very disappointed to see how the company in general has raised many of their candle holder/pedestal prices to $16.95 because they no longer qualify as rewards items due to being .50 over the $16.50 limit. They don't allow combining multiple rewards for a higher priced item, either. Additionally, I lost 3 rewards during the Covid shutdowns, even though they extended expiration dates, due to my local stores not opening. This again is no reflection of the lovely people who staff this location whatsoever. Not everyone shops online. That said, you cannot beat their annual & semi-annual sales which always keep me coming back! read more

Georgie, a customer service, has a horrible attitude. She tried to bring us up very fast and talk very loud in her angry voice. didn't even give us time to review the item prices. She even blamed on my little girl for what she did not do. This kind of store shouldn't hire a person with kind of attitude. This store at this location NO LONGER on my shopping list. read more

Went in a couple of days ago! First, they stop you like your entering a restricted area, and than proceed to tell you the list of supposed California guidance that California has just restricted to bath and body works ONLY. First, you can't smell anything BUT the candles. Wait what? YEP I was told you are not allowed to smell any lotion or body sprays or anything else that isn't just a candle. Second, you can not pull down your mask to smell the candle. What? Yes you heard me right. When I asked how am I supposed to know if I like the smell, I was told that per Covid guidelines sent down from California them selves states all said above. Mind you the lady telling me has her mask under her nose a majority or the time. Also don't forget social distance between customers, BUT the 12 employees they have in the store is what takes IT FOREVER to even get thru the front door BECAUSE they can only have so many people in the store. I love Bath & Body products. This store offers a great selection and the employees and very friendly. If you aren't sure what particular scent you want for an area they will make suggestions to you. The store is nicely laid out and clean. My favorite items are the car jars. I love how much wonderful fragrance they leave in my car. Even with a 3 year old and there always being some type of food residue the car smells great. read more

Okay so let me start off by saying I usually love this store because Jim is amazing and super sweet and is a great asset to the store! However when I'm a pretty consistent customer that shops there I should be treated better, I didn't realize that the retail me not coupon for 20 percent had expired two days ago and when I got up to the register I had 3 candles, 6 hand soaps and 2 car fresheners and the woman just said oh I'm sorry it expired and asked me if I got their emails and I replied with yes I normally do get them and because I didn't have it to show she wouldn't honor it. Then comes a customer to the right of me and she had the coupon so really I think that the woman ringing me up should've said oh here's the coupon let me help you save!!! But no she didn't say that so I ended up spending $78.00 and no coupon! I called the Claremont store today because they are closer to my work and the associate that answered said they will honor expired coupons 3 days after or 3 days before new ones can work!!! So I'm going there after work and giving them my business.... what's funny is I worked for bath and body works for 2 years and I would go out of my way to help anyone with or without coupons! Needless to say I will probably not go back to the Santee location!!!! read more

I went in yesterday for their "wallflower day" sale. It was absolutely swamped. An employee by the name of CJ came up to me and asked if I was finding everything okay and I told her no, I wasn't. That I was looking for very certain scents in the wallflowers. So she helped me find the ones that I like. CJ was so kind and helpful! She came to check on me to make sure I was still finding everything okay. She was happy to answer any questions I had. She was very knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back to see her! Worst customer service EVER goes to Annie. She has the most horrible attitude and I noticed it's only to certain people. I came when they had a sale on the body lotion and decide to buy 30 bottles. The line was almost out the door. I had asked Annie if i could get a coupon because i had left mine at home. She said no, i had to make a small purchase first to get a new coupon. I said "okay" and waited in line for 30 minutes to buy ONE Lotion. I have never had a problem before but today, I was told there is a limit. When i asked if i could do 2 different transactions, I was told by Annie my cashier that i needed to go back in line to make a second transaction. I asked her if she understood i just wait in line for a long time and just needed to make a second teansaction. NOT only did she take forever to ring me up but she took forever to do my return. While she was processing my refund, I asked her supervisor Connie if there was anything she could do because it was not right to make me get back in line just to make a second purchase. Connie then told Annie to just finish ringing me up. Like Really Annie????? What is the big deal???? Never going to this one again. read more

The employees here need a course in customer service, The girl named Courtney, was especially rude, I selected my items for purchase, proceeded to the cash register, only to be re-directed by Courtney (who was doing nothing) and told in her nastiest voice, that the girl up front had a machine, and I could check out with her. Came during the annual candle sale, everyone was super helpful & nice at first. Once more people started going into the store the workers were so rude, I understand it's very busy however customer service never stops even during stressful situations. The line was very long, everyone waiting patiently, there were 4 red arrows leading up to the register. The woman showing people what like to get into was saying out loud "ugh goodness people", from a shopper point of view I thought that was very rude. Next we get up to the register & the cashier was not nice at all she kept being very short & had an upset face the entire time. We purchased TWENTY-FOUR candles, & when I asked if I could get some matches she rudely replied "I don't have any anymore", when I could clearly see a big bin behind her full of matches. When I pointed & said, "Oh I see some there", she rudely said, "I got it, I got it!" Then only gave me ONE box of matches for 24 candles. Very poor customer service, I expected more of the Bath & body works in Santee, drove over 20 miles to get there. Shame on them. Hello, everyone I went there to go shopping for my mom to buy Christmas gifts and I was in there helping my brother shop for my mom as well because he is mentally disabled and he needed help shopping, well I over hear a lady named Michelle who I never seen before today tell another lady to watch us as if we're going to steal, and that was so disrespectful to me and I am African American and there is a lot of other people shopping in here as well, but she singles out me and my brother. as I process to check out the other lady asked me if I was paying with card or cash and I told her card and Michelle ask the other lady if she said her to ring me up and I told the lady I don't want you to ring me up because that was disrespectful what you said. I shop at this store all the time to by gift for friends and family members but that was just total disrespectful and I have never experience that when going Christmas shopping.
