The bathtub in our recently purchased condo had been corroding for a while (the previous owner did not handle the situation), so we submitted a request for a consultation from Bath Fitter for a bathtub-to-shower conversion. When they called back, they were apologetic that the earliest time they could talk to use was two days later, at 9am on a Saturday. I honestly expected at least a week to even hear back from them, so that was a pleasant surprise. Chase, who came to do our consultation, was great. Very professional, very nice, and very well prepared. Chase took all the relevant measurements of our bathroom and then sat down with us to show us all the options of what Bath Fitter could do for what we wanted. He brought samples and sample plates so that we could see and feel what the options were for color and texture were for the surround. He had small fixtures in different colors so we could see how they would go with the surround, and glass samples for the doors. Once we had our options squared away, Chase told it we would receive a call in about five weeks to schedules, once all of the parts had been manufactured and received. He gave us our total for everything, we agreed, and signed the paperwork, and paid the deposit. Almost exactly five weeks later, I got a call to schedule our install. I was asked if Bath Fitter could come over two days, one for tearout, one for install. I said sure and they were very easy to schedule with, allowing me to pick the days (Monday and Tuesday) so I wouldn't have to miss time at work. I then received a followup call last week asking if it was okay if they came earlier on Monday and did everything in one day. Of course I agreed and was told the team would show up between 8am and 10am, with a phone call ahead of their arrival, and they would be finishing up between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. This morning (6/20/22) the team of Daryl and Chris arrived at 8:45am. I showed them the bathroom and they got straight to work. It was a great sight to see that old bathtub leave the condo! To our great surprise, they had torn everything out, redone the plumbing, and installed the new shower in just over three hours! Including brand new hardware and safety rails that are actually attached to the wall instead of just in the fiberglass! Daryl gave us the grand tour and everything looks fantastic! The only downside is that one of the corner shelf units we ordered wasn't available, but once it is, we'll get a call to schedule that piece of the install at no extra charge! We asked Bath Fitter(Mountlake Terrace) to install a new bathtub on top of the old one in 2016, and it was great! Recently, water accumulated between the old and new bathtubs, so I went to Bath Fitter to ask what to do? The answer was that they would send someone to my house to repair it for free! Gage came to my house to check and decided to replace the bathtub for free. After waiting for a few weeks, Gage came to my house again to install the new bathtub about 3 hours. Gage's craftsmanship was great and he was also very nice. I give him a big compliment! Bath Fitter's after-sales service is so good that it leaves people worry-free! If I could give a negative 5 stars, I would. I hired Bath Fitter of the Mountlake Terrace to put in new walls and floor to my existing shower. My existing shower was in perfect condition but I wanted to enlarge it as much as possible, since it was pretty small. I was willing to pay $10,000 for a few extra inches in the depth. The sales person who did the initial measurement made a mistake, so the actual size installed was 1 1/2" shorter than expected. I was only going to get 4" extra, so that cut it down to 2 1/2"! Not worth $10,000! The installer put the walls in too high. It was supposed to stop at the top of the window frame, making a nice clean line with the shower door, but went above it. This looked terrible and not what was agreed upon. They also put the wrong floor pattern in. It was supposed to be a pattern called "diamond" as per the contract. However, a pattern called "honeycomb" was installed. Two very different patterns. Since they measured wrong, I did not get extra inches I wanted. I called and texted multiple times with no timely response. The end result: they want me to pay $3000 for a job done completely wrong from beginning to end. The installer even admitted the walls were too high. Their reason for keeping my deposit of $3000 is because they have already paid the sales person, installer and would have to pay a technician to rip it out. I never signed the final contract because it was NOT done according to the terms in writing. PLUS, they charged my credit card $6668.18 without permission and without finishing the job! This is illegal! They tried to commit fraud! DO NOT use this Bath Fitter company located in the Mountlake Terrance office. They are crooks and want to keep my $3000 for a job not done right. In addition, they tried to charge me $2,500 for a shower door never installed. They claim they installed the shower walls and floor (without the door) exactly as described in the contract, ignoring the fact that it wasn't done even close to the contract. The wall heights were wrong and the floor pattern was wrong. I tried to resolve this with Kristin, the manager, but got nowhere. She even said if I contest the charges with the bank, they would win and I would lose. After I told her I had already challenged the Bank to contest these charges, they suddenly said they would pay me back the $6668.18, which they illegally tried to take, but they still want to charge me $3000 for materials (which were the wrong size and pattern), the technician to rip it out and the commission of the sales person, even though the job was never finished correctly. Save yourself money and headache and use someone else to redo your shower. I will gladly have them come rip everything out (without charging me) They want to charge me for ripping out their shoddy work!! Unbelievable! The pictures below show the areas done not according to the agreement made with the sales consultant. It may not look like much, but when you were only going to get an extra 4 inches in depth, losing 1 and half inches makes a difference. I had my shower/tub completely replaced by Bath Fitter in 2016 and late Sunday afternoon the faucet broke in the 'on' position. Oh no! Since I had to turn the water to the house off, it was a bit of an emergency, so I called two different plumbers and contacted Bath Fitter two because of the lifetime guarantee I remembered. I did not expect Bath Fitter to be the first to respond on a Sunday evening, but I got a text requesting a time to call and this morning I got that call. They sent William (a wonderful human) early this morning and he solved things in less than 15 minutes. NO CHARGE and everything was right-as-rain by 9am Monday morning!!! Great experience in every way, start to finish. This is the first time I've EVER contracted with a company of any kind that I found out about in a booth at a festival! We met Bath Fitter at Freedom Fair on 4th of July in Tacoma, their booth having caught our eye. A week or so later, sales rep Jayde ("JD") arrived and we sat on the deck going over their program. He showed us samples, layouts, designs, etc. After looking at our current built-in shower (not a one piece), and it's kind of odd layout, we found it would be a bit more than we thought but it was still reasonable for the amount of materials and labor it would take. Installers Matt and Joseph showed up exactly when we were told - tear-out was on Monday, and the new shower was complete at the end of the day Tuesday. I took a chance on Bath Fitter because I did not know anyone who had experience with them. I only knew of them because of their advertising. Aaron (consultant/rep) came out promptly and was very informative and efficient. He presented my design, based on my interests and gave me the cost (no surprises or hidden costs). I visited the showroom several times and Judy was very helpful and gave me free samples. Aaron came out again to finalize the job. Dan, the installer, was extremely detailed, clean, and efficient. He definitely was skilled (I had much demo) and went above and beyond to make sure we were not inconvenienced and felt satisfied. Also, the scheduler was very accommodating and communicative-all went as planned. The consultation was good....but I did attempt to reach out to our salesman when we began to have problems and Aaron never called me back. In fact I would consistently have to make several phone calls to get anyone to call me back. We had a pretty terrible experience with Bathfitter and here's what I would warn others. They advertise as little as one day to install....our project took months of our shower being completely unusable. So....if this is your only shower I would highly recommend shopping around. The first guy to come out said they ordered the wrong size door.....two weeks until they can get one. Two weeks later he was back and "finished" the job. The first test of the shower and water was pouring out. Two weeks and another guy was sent out who said we would need to rip out everything the first guy did because it was all wrong. Two more weeks and we finally had a finished working shower......but our brand new flooring got messed up in the process. Very frustrating experience and the owner promised to send us out for a fancy dinner for all our patience....still waiting on that. read more

We did a "tub to shower conversion" in our master bath. I needed this to be done quickly as a result of some immediate medical-related issues. Bath Fitter was able to accommodate our timeline nicely. The Installation was fantastic! OUR INSTALLER WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I'm taking stars off because of the office follow up and response to requests. It was very difficult dealing with change orders, which included decision making on glass doors. Initially, the glass was to be provided by an outside vendor with a 2 - 4 week lead time. This was in late October. Once the job started, the lead time went to "we hope we can install in 2017". Be vigilant on schedule, if you choose Bath Fitter, and don't hesitate to go to outside suppliers, if needed. (what I chose to do with the glass doors) Additionally, I requested the installation of one more safety handle "after" the job was complete. It's been WEEKS since that request, and nothing. This, again, goes to the heart of my lower rating. Once the payment is in hand, it seems there is no sense of urgency to satisfy customer requests. This company does good work. The consultant comes to your house to discuss options. No pressure, just a friendly talk. Then, the guy comes in and spends the day tearing walls apart and putting them back together. The finished product is shiny, easy to clean, and warrantied for life. And yet, somehow, I feel like I just spent $4000 on a Fisher Price bathroom. It's not tile, but hey... I'm not employed, so Fisher Price will have to do. read more

Excellent Service from Sales rep to installer! We own a house built in 1960 which has been remodeled in 2012. Unfortunately the remodel was not done right which was uncovered when bath fitters came out to convert the bathtub to a shower. A floor beam had rotted out due to water dripping on it which also created a small amount of black mold. That meant that the floor beam had to be replaced before bath fitter could continue their work. Even with these unexpected complications there was NO issue with bath fitters coming right back to our house as soon as the beam was replaced. Greg was very friendly, very clean and very fast. They make promises they can't keep, then after they get your money - they are impossible to reach, damage your home, lie about what happened then tell you that you are "causing trouble". Then tell you they cannot actually cannot do the job without causing even more damage and leave you with a mess. Unreal. I left 3 messages to ask about repairing a leaky insert that I had installed a few years ago. They finally called back a few weeks after I left messages but I'd already hired another contractor to completely remove the insert and install a regular tub. It was messy and expensive to get rid of the insert and I won't get one again. read more

We first contacted Bath Fitter 10 years ago and had them install a new bathrub and surround. It developed a crack in the tub. I contacted Bath Fitter and told them. The meeting and installation process was very fast and easy but after less than 2 years of getting my shower installed the handle disconnected from the fixture behind the wall and my shower got stuck turned on! One of the main reasons I was interested in bath fitter was because of the "lifetime warranty" I called bath fitter and they were closed Sunday's so i had to pay a plumber over $550 to get my shower turned off and handle replaced. Now bath fitter says their warranty "doesn't cover plumbing" or my handle and won't refund my money! How can a plumbing not be covered in a warranty on a fixture that involves plumbing. So upset and would not recommend bath fitter anymore to anyone! read more

I was impressed with Nathan's manner and the fact that they could do a 1 day install so as not to disrupt my tenants for a long time. She listened to our needs and tailored our bathroom remodel to both our wants and our budget. She was very professional and honest. The day of installation was perfect. Our sales representative was really nice and professional. No heavy pressure and he did a great job of explaining all of our options. After his presentation, we had additional questions a few days later and he was very responsive in answering them. After we placed our order, it took several weeks to schedule an installation date because each shower is custom-made to your specifications. We knew that in advance, so it was not a shock. The total installation, which was done by one worker, was completed in only two days. We had a small issue, but it was cheerfully and pleasantly handled to our satisfaction by the office staff. Although using Bath Fitter is probably not the cheapest route to go, it is definitely the fastest. Consider, for example, how long it would take to have a contractor demo, lay tile, handle the plumbing, etc. The quality of the materials is first-rate and we enjoyed working with all of the employees associated with the company. We would definitely use them again and would recommend their product/service. read more

We bought a shower conversion about 3 years ago which we were quite impressed with how professional they were from sales to installation. We began having issues with the shower head and decided to have them look at it and set up a 2 to 4 pm time slot on a weekday for someone to come in and check. After nearly 2 hours of wait i decided to call in to find out if the plumber will show up. The lady on the phone said that he might be running late and will be arriving soon. At almost 20 minutes past 4 we decided to call in again and this time no one answered the call and just left a voice mail. I then got a text I was informing me that the plumber is stuck and won't be able to make it and may need to reschedule. I then replied back that it seems unfair to have me waiting this long and not even get notification that the plumber is running late, and it took another call only to get a text that he won't be able to show up at all!??# She then continued to text me that I should understand because the plumber is coming from afar, and that it was raining and horrible traffic. What a way to piss off a good customer. We just needed a simple call let us know the situation and not have to call in to find out what's going on. It's that simple. And she was kurt to end our text with "have a lovely day!" I'm not sure what business model this is, but a mom and pop operation can do a lot better common service than this. We needed our shower replaced and chose this vendor from radio ads and driving by its showroom for years. Also, time was an issue. We needed it done for guests coming soon. They claim done in one day--that was a decider. Looking at Yelp, ratings seemed like it was either love or hate. I was not too worried because I'm fairly experienced with tough and ugly consumer/legal complaint fights with vendors and agencies. Our install went well. On time (actually early due to another scheduling which was fine by me.) Our installer was great--competent, efficient, methodical and he seemed like he gets it just right as if working on his own home. No complaints here. We and guests like the new shower. Price was about what I expected and down payment reasonable. Ask about any specials or discounts. As recommended we went to the showroom to look at sample installs for final choices or changes before starting. You get a better idea of the final product and styles in the showroom. Salesperson was fine--no pressure or hustling us. Very upfront and informative. Neighbor asked about them seeing their truck and I recommended them. Install came with a lifetime warranty--another nice feature. As for negative ratings, it may depend on the particular installer or the franchise office you pick--this one was fine for us on all counts. I'd use them again. read more

Very good experience/results. We had a pretty standard job - cover the old bathtub, install a new surround and redo the supply/mixing plumbing. The salesperson/estimator was low pressure, and went through the many options with us. We had some concern with our limited time window for the install. She made a couple of phone calls, and set an install date that worked for us. The installer was on time and obviously well prepared - a bunch of boxes with our name on them. He laid out sheeting so no dirt was tracked in, and did a very neat install - in 1 day as advertised. Cleanup after the job was complete was good, and the installer showed us a couple of tricks - like how best to clean the drain. Now, 6 months later, we've had no issues or leaks. The new bath/shower unit looks great! These guys were not the cheapest, but they seemed to know what they were doing and have "a system" all setup that made our project fairly turnkey. read more

Bath fitter inserted an insert in to my main bathroom years ago. There was a problem with the rod coming off the wall.. I called many times and after several weeks they had someone come out. He fixed the problem. Fast forward a year or so later I have the same problem..Rod coming off the wall. I call many times. I speak to the sales person there and she tells me the warranty is no longer good for that, really you fixed it a year ago for free!? Now they wanna charge me s service call of over 100.00 and she says the rod and bracket is around 270.00.? I tell her I just need the bracket not the rod, the back of the rod has disintegrated and is falling off the wall, I ask how much just the-bracket is. She doesn't know but she will call me back. I get on line and order a bracket for 15.00 including shipping off amazon. I fix it. Good thing because I still have not received s call back and that was over three weeks ago that I spoke with her. Very disappointed in their customer service, it's terrible. My shower still looks good though. read more

My husband had been hearing commercials for Bath Fitter on the radio, so we called for a consultation. Our consultant seemed flighty and didn't know how to use the laser to measure correctly--my husband helped her get the right measurements. We were told that to get in the queue for an appointment to have the install, we would need to put $500 down. We did so, only to have to call after almost 2 weeks to find out why no one had called to set up an appointment time (as promised). By this time our 3 days to cancel had passed and since we were already in it for $500, we sucked it up. We were remodeling our bathroom so the consultant had a line of questions about what we would have to complete before the install, yet our phone messages to her went ignored, our questions went unanswered time after time. The installer came out on the agreed date and almost had us re-schedule because of issues that came up with a beam, etc--that was on the list of questions we wanted answered. The installer did a good job, but I will NEVER use them again, and if you're smart DON'T give them any money up front. And even then, make sure everything you need to know is fulfilled before you give them a dime. This was the most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with (and we have the phone records to prove it). read more
