Less than impressed with this place. All of our meals were just kind of "meh". I had a salad, my son in law had wings and my daughter had a French dip I believe. (My grandson had the kids sliders.) It wasn't inedible, it was just blah in my opinion. My son in law did not expect the type of sauce that was on his wings vs. the menu description. I was hoping I would like this place because it is fairly close to our new home. I probably won't be going back here because there are so many great options in the valley. Pleasantly surprised. Although they were out of the Prime Rib/Saturday special I was not disappointed with the waiter suggested pork chop. Ty, our waiter, was great from beginning to end, we tipped generously. Only reason rating is a 4 is because it was a little salty, not unbearable but noticeable. read more

We came here for Memorial Day weekend and stayed at the Best Western. First night, we tried this place, and it was good. Price a bit steep, but it was convenient. It was nice they accommodated for our son who was impatient. I got the fish platter which was all-you-can eat. I was already full after first plate. My wife got the salmon and said it was wonderful. We took our son's meal to our room since he barely ate much. Outdoor patio seating was nice, and we visited the playground with our son. We also liked that there was miniature golf course next door with ice cream stand. Overall, you couldn't pick a better place to relax. read more

Good service, good food. We were staying in the attached hotel and needed something to eat for a late-evening snack one evening. We didn't want to drive anywhere else, so we moseyed over to the Ground Round. We were seated right away and took some time to look over the menu. We opted to share a few starters with our adult beverages. I got an alright glass of wine. Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular. But I'm not complaining about having wine. We ordered a grilled chicken flatbread and some pork belly sliders. The flatbread was the better of the two, in my opinion. Really tasty and enough for a meal for two. Our server was friendly and didn't rush us out after we had finished eating but wanted to stick around sipping our drinks for a while. We also had a brunch planned with a friend in the area the next day, also at Ground Round. And I think brunch here is even better than dinner! There is certainly something for everyone, whether you want sweet, carb-y goodness in the form of waffles or pancakes....or you want an egg and veggie omelet. I got a standard breakfast, the All-American. Eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. An ample amount of food, for a very reasonable price. Since we had hours and hours of driving to do to get home immediately after this (11 hours, to be exact....) I opted to forego the mimosa I wanted and just got coffee. My cup was never empty, let alone even a little low, for very long. We had 2 lovely visits here over the course of a weekend. I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a place to eat. We were there tonight with two young children. The one toddler was fussy so we needed to change our order to take out. The staff could not have been better. Three waitresses helped get drinks, pack our order and kept checking if we needed anything while we wait. We ended up eating there then as the toddler settled down for a bit. The food was great and everything was prepared and came with the dips we asked for. People need to remember that waitresses/ waiters are paid below minimum wage and relay on tips. Who can beat $5 Long Island Ice Teas on Wednesdays? Generous drink, many flavor choices. I had the talapia special with baked potatoes and broccoli, and added a starter salad. Two bites into my salad and the dinner plate was presented. The fish was very hot and the broccoli wasn't warm, so not sure how they threw it all together. The host at the door was incredibly friendly, our server was fine. The food tasted like premade, bottled, basic food. Definitely tasted like Bottled premade dressings & sauces. The burger looked like a preformed patty, wings were just blah. Drinks had zero taste of the liquor that was supposed to be in it and seemed to be a syrup for the mojito rather than muddled lime & mint, and premade mix for the margarita. First off always a good time here. Been going for years back when it was ground round. Ordered a Paloma and they did not have the ingredients. This is where the magic begins. Lizzie, who was great, rattles her brain and came up with an amazing close to. Very happy. Fast forward to the next day and had the bartender Kathy the next day and in efforts to keep the drink as awesome as the day before CALLED LIZZIE AT HOME (!) to figure out how she made it. Here's the best part, LIZZIE PICKED UP!!! Not only pleasant but helped Kathy remake the drinks from yesterday! Then to make it even better, because I told Kathy I was here for a few days, informed the next bartender how to make it!!! I love this hotel (myself and family stay here a lot to visit close family here) and they all really knocked it out of the park. No notes!!! I have to say this place is so good , we love their food, and the service was excellent, we had a very attentive server each time we went. We ate there last week and went back today. We also love that the lighting isn't too bright or too dark and we don't feel like our conversation is shared so the ambiance is perfect. My preference is the club sandwich, my son had a burger with ham and pork and onion straws on top and he couldn't finish all of it but he would definitely order it again. Ground Round is our go-to place when we are looking for an outdoor eating option. They have a beautiful, large outdoor patio overlooking the golf course and green area. There is also a covered area for those overly sunny days. Plus, you get all of the bar specials when you sit in this area. Think - happy hour and popcorn! AND, if you are there at the right time, there is also a free taco and nacho bar. YUM! Perfect match to the craft beer selection. The food is simply average. The food is what is driving the 3-star rating. Nothing special. The menu is diverse with burgers, tacos and burritos, pasta, etc. However, as there is no specialty, there is nothing special. If you are looking for a quick lunch option, they do have an all you can eat soup and salad bar. Quick, filling, and (relatively) healthy. My recommendation is to visit the Ground Round patio. I love Batley's because they are easy-going and will accommodate to your wants! I crave eggs and bacon for breakfast, but I also can't pass up their yummy Biscuits and Gravy, so they let me do a biscuit and gravy as a side instead of toast, which helps me get all the things I want without overdoing it:) For lunch, I'm a sucker for their Chicken Caprese Flatbread with the balsamic glaze drizzled on top. We went here for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday with my hubby's immediate family...about 15 people. We wanted to do something different--get everyone out of the house--and thought a good activity would be playing some miniature golf. We decided to dine at Ground Round because it was the same place the mini golf was at. It worked out great! We told Ground Round ahead of time (the week prior), that we would be coming with a small group, so they wrote us down and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. To us, it just depended on the weather. Thankfully, it was warm, sunny day out, so we were able to sit in the area where you aren't directly outside, but still sheltered. I'm not sure what they call this area, but it's just off the patio. It's kind of like a big garage. It was perfect! They had fans blowing too which kept the warm air circulating. We arrived at golf around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, and had a very nice time. When our group was done playing mini golf, we walked over to Ground Round (a little before 4 p.m.), and ordered drinks. They were very good. I had a frozen strawberry margarita, and, while it tasted awesome, it pretty much had zero alcohol in it. I felt nothing and I hardly ever drink. I'm a super lightweight. I didn't even catch the inkling of a buzz and I had two of them! That's ok though. It was still yummy and nice and cold! I ordered the Texas Tangler Salad and wow, was it ever GOOD! Really big too. I couldn't finish it. I love their sweet bbq and delicious ranch! Yum! My husband ordered the street tacos. He didn't care for them. He didn't like the flavors and said the tortillas weren't heated and there was just no love in them. The waitress let him order something in its place, so he got the Texas Tangler Pizza. Just like my salad, but on a thin, crispy crust. That was delicious! I took a bit. I loved it. The crust was great! Super crispy, just how I like my pizza crust. My mother-in-law and father-in-law ordered some type of burger, but the order came out wrong. Our waitress, Destany, was amazing!! She apologized profusely, and got them the correct burgers. It didn't take long so she must have told the chef to put a rush on it. (Even so, she ended up taking the burgers off the bill because they still had to wait a little bit for the new burgers. We were not expecting that, we would have been totally fine with paying for them, but it was a nice surprise when we got the bill, and very thoughtful for her to do that.) All the while, she kept apologizing for the error. She was amazing at filling our drinks and checking in on us. One of the best waitresses I've ever had while dining out. She was so attentive to everything. Ground Round was also kind enough to store the birthday cake we brought in their cooler from the time we got there to play mini golf, until we were ready to eat the cake after dinner. I'd be remiss if I also didn't compliment the manager. I believe her name was Amber, but I could be totally wrong. She was so kind and checked in on us a few times as well. She said how good my mil looks at 80 (and she does look amazing!), wished her a Happy Birthday, and was a very sweet person all around. They even came out and sung to my mil and gave her her free fried Oreos and ice cream for her bday! LOL! (They ended up taking them home since we were all full on food and cake.) Thanks so much to our amazing waitress, Destany! She went above and beyond. She is the epitome of superb customer service and a dining patron's dream waitress. Thanks also to the manager, Amber?, for being so wonderful. It really was the cherry on top and will make me one day go back to Ground Round. Hotel restaurants are not my norm, but this is a nice community hangout. Bar is always hopping, but I generally sit in the dining room with my young daughter. Fish fry is great, enjoy their selection of sides. Getting a little expensive on some dishes for what you get. Seems as prices go up everywhere, Ground Round will be at the head of the curve, although they still have a special of some sort on most nights. I recommend the BOGO burgers on Tuesdays. I also recommend Tami as a server in the dining area, she is consistently an A+. read more

The food and service here are always good. While it doesn't have anything that makes it "unique" from other American restaurants I think consistency is important. We've never had a bad experience here. The outdoor patio is so nice in the summer months. They have fire tables as well which give off decent heat when it is a little cooler. By far the best part for me is that they are pet friendly and will even serve your pet (on the patio). They even have a dog menu and will bring food out in doggy dishes for your pup. During each visit, we had fun, friendly, experienced and accommodating servers. A couple of simple changes would make for a 5 star review. People looking for a new place to have breakfast now that Perkins in Neenah has closed might want to consider the Ground Round as their new go to breakfast place. For breakfast, they certainly have 5 star potential. After all, they consistently hit it out of the park for lunch, dinner and at the bar for their twice daily happy hours. Great food and outstanding service Last night my daughter and I decided to have dinner at the Ground Round. This is the second time this month we ate here. I had been here in the past but it is not somewhere we frequent, I kind of forget its there. However, both times the food was great and the customer service by everyone was outstanding. We sat out on the patio and had burgers. Their patio is well set up and has a covered option as well as outside. We started with the warm pretzels which came out frozen the first time but the waitress quickly fixed it and we got new warm ones the second time around. They where very good. We each got a different burger and they where cooked perfectly and very juicy. The manager as well as the cooking staff where out checking on people and helping clear tables. Guys: I'm a little bit of a food snob so a Ground Round doesn't exactly sound appealing for me. But I can't write a bad review of this place. It's really good food. Lots of Sports TV screens work for me. It's the best burger in Neenah. I prefer other environments but the lovely Maureen insists on Ground Round burgers on our Sunday night routine. Friday nights are crowded because the Fish Fry is solid. Second best Fish Fry in Neenah/Menasha. Maureen likes the perch. I thought the all you can eat Haddock was great - I usually don't trust buffets or "all you can" but it was first rate quality. The French Dip is quality beef slices. The Steak Bomb is a great sandwich with a terrible name. They always serve popcorn to open which is cool. Solid beer menu. TVs at every booth in the bar which is where Maureen and I prefer to eat. Wait staff works hard though can bog down when crowded which is expected. The only down side is that, when it does get crowded, it can be like eating in a crowded bar. Because it is a crowded bar. Sacrifices must be made. Bottom line: Much better than you would expect. Flavorful burgers and sandwiches and deep menu variety. It's in our Neenah routine. read more

We have eaten here several times, the food is always good and they can accommodate a gluten free menu. They also serve Redbridge. The chef is knowledgeable on what is in the food and can even change sauces and such up if need be. The bar area is set up like a sports bar and small, however they do have a larger dining area if you prefer. We have always had good food and service here. I would also like to mention with being a Celiac patient I always have several questions and there is lots of back and forth with the chef and waiter, but they always handle it very well and are very courteous to me. read more

It happens so often where you see a photo of food on a menu and when it arrives, it is a tiny facsimile of what the menu showed. Here, the opposite was true! I went for lunch with my sister and my niece and each of us ordered an entree plus my niece ordered an appetizer to share. The "bruchetta" should have been named something in American English since this appetizer did not even vaguely resemble Italian bruchetta. The app gets only one star. The entrees arrived a few minutes later and we were all shocked at the huge portions. I ordered a blackened chicken tostada salad with black beans and guacamole ($8.95). The guacamole tasted as though it had an artificial sour cream mixed into it, which would be consistent with the color. The corn tortilla used for the tostada had been deep fried and was terribly greasy, so I removed and discarded it. Atop the whole pile of salad and goop was approx. 1/4 cup of artificial sour cream, which I scraped off the top and discarded. The rest of the salad was good, including the blackened chicken. My niece seemed to enjoy her fajitas and my sister said he sandwich was "good" I'm not sure if the server was more in demand than she appeared to be but she was forgetful, although pleasant and seemingly wanting to be of service. read more
