These guys are great.!!!!! I went in with an intermittent key FOB and not only did we find out the battery was weak, but the case holder for the battery had a cold solder joint and broke off as soon as we opened the case. They took the time to re-solder the case onto the circuit board and get me on my way for 8 bucks!!!!! My step-daughter being part of Girls Rock Camp Austin had her performance a few days ago. She had a pair of battery powered light-up drum sticks she wanted to use for the show to add some 'flash'. Just before show time one of the sticks stopped lighting up. Thinking it was the batteries gone dead and having 45 minutes before the show I rushed to the Batteries Plus at 2300 South Lamar. We swapped out the batteries but nothing. The Batteries Plus guys took apart the nearly microscopic lighting mechanism, soldered, sanded and did everything they could to get it working again. Unfortunately to no avail since nothing they tried could resurrect it but the effort they all put in -without charging us a penny- was heroic. Thanks to the S. I brought my iphone in Saturday morning to have the battery and screen replaced. It worked great, but I noticed the battery life had been steadily going down over the last few months and there was a simple crack in the screen I figured I'd take care of at the same time. The staff was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, but we ran into problems in from the start. I was told they could not get my phone case off (Mophie Juice Pack- not cheap), and they would have to break it to get the phone out. I wasn't happy, but OK..With my permission, they removed the phone, threw my case in the trash, and I was told that the phone would be ready in an hour. When I came back, I was told that they had difficulty removing the battery and in the process something ruptured and my phone had caught on FIRE! They said they had called the manager and that he would order me a new phone when he came in on Monday. They had no loaner phones in the meantime. Long story short, I finally received a replacement iphone today, 5 days later. It's a used phone- someone else's problem phone is now mine- terrific. I bought my phone less than a year ago, and cared for it well. I can't say that about this phone. While the staff was friendly and helpful, that's not the case with the manager. He wasn't rude, but his tone was that I was a problem and he didn't want to deal with me. I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs because my fiancé is a longtime customer and recommended them. Batteries Plus, Burnet Road, Austin, Texas. I was there about 6:30 on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. There was a young man working alone. He had three customers there that needed help finding certain batteries. He didn't point and say they are over on that shelf or that rack. He walked over to the rack/shelf, confirmed that it was the correct battery, told us what package quantities were available and the price of each package. He was aware of who came in first, second, etc. and helped us in that order. He was very courteous and very helpful. I'm sorry I didn't ask his name. It would be nice to include that in this report. Ernest at Batteries Plus/Burnet Road is awesome! I have a watch that I had previously tried to get a new battery at this location and was told they couldn't do it because it was an expensive watch. So I took it to Austin Watch and Repair Co./Burnet Rd. They charged me $40, had to send the watch off for eight weeks, were extremely rude and the battery lasted a very short time. Fast forward to Ernest. While I was at BP getting a replacement battery for a different watch, I told Ernest the story. He checked the list of watches they will not work on, didn't find mine listed and agreed to try to put in a new battery for me. it took him about 15 seconds; he charged me $17.95 and was extremely friendly and professional. He added my watch to my lifetime battery card and I was out of there in less than five minutes. My watch is very sentimental to me and I was not looking forward to being without it for two months and was dreading having to work with the people at Austin Watch Repair. This is to warn any potential customers or existing customers. I have a battery that is under warranty and is not longer holding a charge. I called the store and after speaking to an employee he determined based off of the information that was given that the battery would be exchanged if I brought it in. I immediately left the house to exchange the battery. Upon walking into the store and talking to possibly a different employee, I was then given the run around and told I would have to drop the battery off in order for them to run their test. I explained to the employee what was told to me over the phone and all I wanted was for them to honor what was promised to me. If I was told that a test had to be run, I would of waited to come in and not rushed. Obviously I'm in need of a battery or I wouldn't have rushed in. I am so disappointed with the customer service I received that I allowed them to keep the battery and now I will take my business elsewhere. To those of you reading this, be wary of what is promised with their so called warranty and expect to get the run around in the event that you experience a similar situation with a battery that you have purchased there. read more

My Mom needed some batteries for her car's keyless remotes, which had stopped working. She also brought along several watches. While we were there, I purchased a battery for my own car key as well. Nick was a super-friendly and amazingly helpful gentleman, who replaced all of the batteries that we needed. He showed me what he was doing with the car remote, then he got to work on the watches. I kid you not, he worked with the smallest screw inside one watch that I have ever seen in my life...this task could have sent anyone reeling, but he was calm, steady, and cheerful. Complete garbage. I bought 2 batteries here for a headlamp. Took them home, and they did not have enough juice to run the product. I took the batteries back with the receipt, and they told me the batteries were dead, and they could not take them back. Well... of course they were dead. I was told that I could get a car battery for my truck at Batteries Plus. I called and Kevin responded and assured me that the battery that I needed was in stock and that he would install it free of charge. It was very difficult to remove the old cables from the old battery, but Kevin was persistent and, in the end, had to cut the old cable and replace that with a new one. It was a very challenging job, but he never gave up. He was resourceful, to say the least, and did an excellent job of installing the new battery. There was no charge for the very demanding job that he did to install the new battery. He was very gracious to the very end. Did I ever get lucky when I found this resource for repairing my I-Pad which I had dropped accidentally. I had visions of spending many hundreds of dollars for Apple to fix it, after having it sent it, etc., etc. After looking online for a local resource, they agreed to look at it and try to help me. My car needed a new battery, and he found the exact battery I needed pretty quickly. However, my car had some rusty screws holding the battery down and removing the old battery was a challenge to say the least. I think most people would have given up, but Ernest went the extra mile today and made sure I got the new battery installed. Well I give the manager props for contacting me and attempting to fix the mistake they made by breaking my camera in the process of restoring the screen. However, the camera still doesn't work as well as it did (when I take pictures the pictures come out grainy when you zoom in - it didn't do that before) The LG G4 is supposed to have 16 mp camera and it used to take sharp crisp pictures before I took it to this place. Also, the double tap feature to turn my phone on no longer works after having them replace the screen. I should've gone to Verizon in the first place. Whatever you do, don't go to this place to get your screen fixed because this has been a real headache. And a pricey one. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. And NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IPHONE REPAIR. My experience was awful. Went in for an iphone cracked screen repair and got a completely messed up iphone back. Could not use it for anything - whenever I touched the screen, the screen went white - blank- and then completely black and then it tried to reboot. This happened every time I touched the screen. Took the phone back, spoke to the owner, who yelled at me and tried to bully me by saying repeatedly, over and over again, that they did not mess up the phone and that there was nothing wrong with the phone. One can not believe that this kind of a reaction actually exists!! Unfortunately, there were no customer witnesses in the store. I asked for my money back. He said if I gave him my phone back he would put back the broken screen and then give me my money back. Unbelievable! Dishonest store owner. No people skills and no other skills either. JD did an awesome job at fixing the screen on my iphone today. My mom & I had called ahead and gotten a quote the day before. The man on the phone said he would even give us a discount since we were getting 2 phones fixed which was great! However, when we arrived, we realized we had the iphone 6s as opposed to just the iphone 6 & that it was going to be twice the price we had been quoted on the phone. JD said that he would still give us a discount. Around 2 hours later (not long at all!!) I came back to pay for the repair & pick up my phone. I was charged even less than JD said it was going to be. Very dissapinting in the lack of customer service or non service. The problem started when I walked in to get a battery replaced in a watch that I had replaced a battery in about a month ago. At the time of the watch battery replacement, the clerk asked me if I wanted to purchase an unlimited battery replacement guarantee. And I did. it sounded like a good deal. So I bought an unlimited battery replacement card and unbeknownst to me the retail clerk wrote down the wrong band description on the card. My watch is a Swiss Army Renegade that has a rubber band. But the card was mistakenly labeled with a leather band. I did not know this until today when I noticed my watch had stopped working this afternoon. So after work, I went to the store. The clerk was very unhelpful indicating that he could do nothing for me since the card said leather band and not rubber. When I said there had been a mistake, that Swiss army watches generally don't have leather bands, he flipped his own watch to me to show that his did indeed have a leather band. However, his watch was not a Renegade model. I have been a loyal customer for years. I have bought many batteries for watches, car and security systems. But I am now thinking seriously of just giving up on the company. And it's a shame because they generally have very nice and helpful staffs read more

Here's what happened - I bought a new battery at Auto Zone for my Mini Cooper, but the guys there declined to install it for me. They opened the hood and decided it would be too complicated for them to install (as a couple of different pieces have to be removed on a Mini to put in the new battery.) I called Batteries Plus down the street and Adam answered. He said to come down and he'd take a look at it. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and proceeded to easily take the steps needed to install the new battery. It took him ten minutes, tops, to put in the new battery. When it was done, he refused payment, even though I had bought the battery from Auto Zone, and not from them. Long story short, I will always go to Batteries Plus from now on! read more

I ordered a battery online that was supposed to be in the store. I then received a notification saying it had arrived and if I brought my driver's license in, along with the purchase order and the credit card that it was ready for pickup. When I arrived I was told that I had been emailed in a note that it wasn't there. Maybe that is what he thought he emailed me, but that is not what I received. The other gentleman tried to be helpful and double checked in the back to make sure there weren't any. He then called their S Lamar store, which had a busy tone. He also called the Round Rock store and supposedly they were going to transfer some the next day. He told me to call back the South Lamar store when I got home and ask them to as well, which I did. I then called the next day at about 3PM, and they said it wasn't in yet. So then I called back at 6PM and was told they only do deliveries on MWF. I have been told they will call me tomorrow now, but I am not very impressed. I am leaving on a train at 6:30PM. I ordered this because I needed it in a hurry. I bought a device that requires an 18650 battery for a trip I am taking Wednesday. I would not have ordered it from them if it had not said it was in stock. I don't understand why I was told they would ship some from one store to another the next day if they don't transfer stock on those days. I think the gentleman who made the calls for me was trying much harder than the other gentleman, but they have failed in three different ways: A) not keeping track of their inventory, B) supposedly this clerk thought he was sending me a note on the email that said the product had arrived when what I actually got was an email saying the product was in and ready for pickup, and C) claiming they would transfer the product from another store and then not doing so because it wasn't an official delivery day. I'm trying to get ready for a trip, and I am not even sure that the item I want this for works, so this really is wasting my time. The only reason that they are getting a two rather than a one is that the second gentleman I spoke to made some calls to the other stores, but I am kind of ticked at the moment. read more

I went to this location on 1/3 because I needed a battery for my security system, a couple batteries for other items, and I wanted to use the $4.99 watch battery coupon. I went during a break from work and bought the above items which totaled $57.32 including tax. The guy threw in a free flourescent lightbulb from a promotion they were doing. When I looked at the receipt, it looked like he charged me for the free lightbulb, so I asked him about it. He said that he was deducting that amount from the security battery (I had an additional coupon for 10% off that he had said he could not honor because I was already using the watch battery coupon. I thought he was giving me this deduction because he felt bad that I couldn't use the 10% coupon). So I thanked him and went on my way back to work. When I got to work, I took out my calculator and saw that he had charged me for the free lightbulb AND had charged me $7.99 for the $4.99 watch battery. So I went back later and a young-ish (around 30 year old) Caucasion guy waited on me. I told him the story and he clarified that the $2.99 was added on to the security battery because it was really 32.99, not 30.00, as the receipt said (it was $32.99 when I looked at it on the shelf ). But when I asked him about the $7.99 charge for the watch battery, he shrugged his shoulders and said sarcastically, "Do you want your $3.00 back?" I said "Yes." He said , "It's only$ 3.00, fine." I took it, thanked him and left. I should have returned everything I had purchased - he was rude. Especially after I had spent all that money there. I have to say that I've been in that store a few times and always had good experiences. I won't go there again. read more

Went here for the first time due to perceived convenience. Purchased two sets of batteries and they were EXPENSIVE. My take on this business is that if you don't know what type of battery you need, they have staff to help you find the right battery. All I did was pull out the batteries from my devices and wrote down the model number of the battery and brought the info to the store, so I didn't really need any help. Looked at Target and Best Buy sites afterwards and found the same batteries much cheaper. read more
