I bought in a non-working golf cart battery charger to this shop today. The person that helped me was a lady by name of Tara. She was extremely knowledgeable about troubleshooting, and very generous with her attempts to repair the device. It turned out that the device had a burned out motherboard and cannot be reasonable repaired. I will need a replacement. Ken is the owner of the shop and was also very personable. The atmosphere in the store was that of good service , and not just to fleece you of your dollar. My Samsung phone battery life was getting too short, so I took phone into Batteries + Bulbs in Petaluma (#905). They replaced the battery at a great price. Over the next week it was obvious the original problem remained. Went back, they did some more in-depth troubleshooting and showed me the charging circuit in the phone was flakey. They took back the new battery, put the old one back in and gave me a full refund without me even asking. The troubleshooting time was on them. I am not used to seeing this super wonderful level of customer service. Marcy et al showed they really care about their customers; they set the example for other businesses to follow. Had an issue with an automotive battery that had been acting up for over 8 months, that I originally bought from the Santa Rosa store. I took it in to the Petaluma store (much closer to me) where they tested it on some rather sophisticated equipment (it failed as expected.) Corporate guidelines required additional testing (had to leave the battery overnight), which yielded inconclusive results, which in turn caused corporate to drag their feet on a warranty replacement. Julie, Marcy and the crew went to bat for me in a big way and got me properly taken care of and back on the road. Throughout the process I was treated in a friendly and respectful manner. Tara and all the employees there were so helpful! She gave me a lot of knowledge and shared her personal experiences with living off the grid because I am currently living the van life! So having power and the right batteries are very important. She also fully charged my auxillery battery which only took 1 day to do. That was the solution I needed so it led me to buying a battery charger, not from her though. So she wasn't trying to sell me or anything because I didn't even spend any money there! Our church did a "volunteer" clean up and maint day. We had to rent a lift to change some hard to reach bulbs. We were not sure what kind of bulbs they were until we pulled them out. Of course none of the local hardware stores had enough of these bulbs. But- to the rescue. B.P.B. Had some on hand and said they could get the rest from another store "TODAY." This saved us more rental time on the lift and having to come back another day. Superior Customer Service and super good quality bulbs that will last a long time. One would think that this store is a big chain but it's owned by the cutest couple who were so sweet and helpful. They tested my truck battery and had three different choices of replacements all with warranties at a great cost. I would never think to come here for a car battery but when I googled them they had a high review average. These days it's rare to get this great of service! After my daughters phone kept dying at 30% we found out she needed a battery. I looked online to see who can do them around us & discover that these guys can do it. If you book it ahead of time on line, you get 1/2 off the battery, only costing $35 + tax. On our way there, I dropped my phone. Totally cracked the screen. I went on line to see if they do it! Sure do, $69.99 with a $10 off if scheduled online. So I booked both of us an appointment & within a total of 3 hours we were both back in business. They were very nice to work with & our phones were ready when we were told they would be. Will definitely be back if any other issues come up. read more

My Prius Kept needing to be jump started . I had aaa come out three times, I even went to the local car mechanic specializing in hybrids and none of them were able to tell me definitively that the battery needed to be replaced. I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs today for some obscure battery that no other store could help me with--it was for an outdoor solar lantern that I hang in my tree. As it turned out, it was not a user friendly lamp--difficult to access and it was an odd battery. Tara took it upon herself to take the apparatus apart--no easy task, find the appropriate battery and replace it. It took a while so I left to shop and came back about 40 minutes later. When I did, she handed me the lantern, all fixed and said there would be no charge since she had to use a battery from an opened package. She really went beyond the call of duty--especially in these times! I was impressed and will definitely be sure I get all my battery needs taken care of here. read more

Great customer service! My husband has MS and depends on his scooter to get around. In January he needed new batteries and bought two from this store. About two weeks ago, the batteries started failing almost stranding him a couple blocks from home. After speaking with the scooter manufacturer, he learned he needed a different, much more expensive type of battery. He went back to the store and spoke with the rep there who agreed that the batteries he purchased back in January weren't the right ones for a scooter. They called around and found the batteries he needed at their south bay store and had them delivered next day. And, they completely refunded his original purchase to credit toward the new batteries. They obviously didn't have to do this, but the fact that they were so responsive, more than made up for the original problem. We'll continue to rely on these folks for our battery and bulb needs.
